About
This Space

Come enjoy this chic, luxurious, and fabulous 126m2/ 1350 SQ FT, 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom vacation apartment, located in the absolute heart of Paris' St Germain neighborhood. This flat is a true gem in the Haven in Paris portfolio, and it’s the perfect way to experience real Left Bank living.

Housed up 2 flights of stairs in a classified 19th century building, this extraordinary apartment has been fully renovated by its American and French owners and their talented interior designers, the Paris-based ‘double g’. The apartment delivers the comforts and amenities of the best luxury hotels while offering the sophistication, privacy and charm of an authentic Parisian home.

The décor is an eclectic mix of the classics and the contemporary, and the apartment surprises and delights from the moment you cross the threshold. The flat is decorated with bright colors, warm textures, antique furniture, and contemporary art, and its 11-foot ceilings and original 19th century floor-to-ceiling windows mean that it’s unusually bright for a Paris apartment. The striking marble floors are original, as is the 19th century parquet ‘a l’anglaise’ in the bedrooms.

The entrée is a warm violet, featuring an 18th century chandelier, an 19th century marble table for your keys, and fabrics and wallpaper from Idarica Gazzoni, the notable interior designer from Milan. The entrée opens directly into the elegant sun-drenched salon. This corner apartment is exceedingly light-filled and sunny. The fully equipped kitchen is open to the salon and is designed to encourage merriment and chatter as you prepare meals. It’s equipped for anything from a simple breakfast for four to a dinner party for twelve. Elegant cook’s blue cabinetry, black Zimbabwean stone countertops, and top-of-the-line Miele and Siemens appliances make for a chef’s kitchen that is also a pleasure for entertaining. Comfy sofas from British design star David Hicks in white and bright yellow contrast the marble floors and the collection of fine photography, which features work by Malick Sibede, Taryn Simon, Saul Leiter, and Karin Lavale. It’s a perfect place to relax after a day exploring the sights of Paris.

The three bedrooms display an equal splash of color. One is olive green, with a king sized bed, a large Beni Ouirane rug from Morocco, a striking bedside table from Kartell, original photography purchased down the street at one of the famed rue de Seine galleries, bespoke closets with green interiors, and an en-suite bathroom with handmade cement tiles from Marrakesh-based Popham Design. The second bedroom is accented in a warm coral, with a queen sized bed, a 19th century bedside table, and a Louis XI bergere. The bedroom opens up into a cheery red tiled en-suite bathroom, featuring a 19th century wooden mirror, Philippe Starck lighting, and a footed bathtub that has been hand-painted red to match the tiles. The third bedroom is the most dramatic as it is painted in an extraordinary blueberry lacquer, accented by an elongated gold leafed mirror from the 19th century. The blue room doubles as a study and TV room, and it features an iMac, a collection of art books, a 32” flat screen TV, and many striking pieces of art, including a large 18th century oil painting, a Tibetan thangka, and lithographs from China.

All three bedrooms have plenty of closet space and top-of-the-line bedding, including goose down duvets and pillows and 800-thread count Egyptian cotton linens. A crib can be supplied at no extra cost.

The bathrooms have been completely renovated, featuring full-length towel heaters, 10-inch rain showers, and firm water pressure.

Your Parisian home is in the absolute center of the city: the bustle of Ste Germaine, the grandeur of the Senat, the hallowed buildings of the Sorbonne, the fun of Left Bank café culture, and the famed art galleries of rue de Seine are all less than 5 minutes by foot. Families will adore the nearby Luxembourg gardens and their swings, slides, merry-go-rounds, donkey rides, and 100-year old puppet theater – to say nothing of the amazing flowers. If you’re a foodie, you’ll love that the apartment itself is 20 paces from both Gerard Mulot, one of Paris’ most famous patisseries, and the Marche St Germain, where you’ll find some of the best fruits, vegetables, cheese, meats, fish, and fresh flowers in the City of Lights. Just minutes down boulevard St. Germain you will find Café Flore and Café les Deux Magots, and many of Paris’ best sights, including the Seine River, the Pont Neuf, the Louvre, the Ile de la Cite, Notre Dame, St. Sulpice, the Sorbonne, the Bon Marche luxury department store, the bi-weekly organic market on boulevard Raspail, and the movie cinemas at Odeon, are a mere ten minutes by foot.

Whether you are visiting Paris for work or for play, Rue de Seine is the perfect apartment for the discriminating traveler – a chic, creative, elegant, spacious and ultimately relaxing alternative to the standard luxury hotel.

Reviews

Michele L. December, 2011 Singapore

The best location I've stayed so far in my numerous visits to Paris. The apartment is just off Saint Germain, a stone's throw from Cafe Flore, Brassiere Lipp, Laduree, Carrefour and of course, good shopping. Metro to the left and right, each 3 mins away. Despite the central location, the noise level is well contained. The apartment itself is spacious I understand by Parisian standards. We had 3 adults and 4 kids and there was ample living space for all of us. It was so comfortable that my kids preferred to hang out in the apartment than go out. This left Mummy with a lot of good quality shopping time! The furnishings are elegant and and the apartment looks newly renovated. The designers did a great job with the place especially the use of colours (except the yellow sofa we think is a little too eclectic!) The shower systems, heater and humidity gauges are first class. The owners are clearly house proud.
