< Back to St. Germain 1 Bedroom — Boulangers
Here is what some of our clients have to say about Haven in Paris & their stay in:
Boulangers
This was my first experience with a vacation rental, and it was a great one. I was a bit nervous about the idea of renting an apartment in Europe, as you cannot get tons of information and reviews as you would with a hotel. However, the Boulangers property and the rental experience exceeded my expectations and we had a wonderful time. Marie-Noel, our greeter, was very helpful and thorough. This apartment is very well appointed, and is perfect for two people. Some things which exceeded my expectations: A nice closet with ample storage for clothes, a great hairdryer, tons of CD's and reading material, and plenty of extra blankets and linens. I have stayed in Parisian hotels, and in my opinion, this is a much better value. It is more comfortable, and you have the sense that you are living in Paris. The Boulangers property is nicely decorated and has beautiful views, making it a great place to start and end the day. I would return in a heartbeat. This is truly a haven in Paris. Why HiP? We had been in Paris in 2007 and stayed in a hotel, which was fine but we found the room to be quite small. As we were staying for a longer period, we thought about an apartment. I spent a few days researching on the internet, and was most impressed by Haven in Paris' website, which was elegant and professional. I love the detail provided by the website about the properties. You also gave very timely responses to my questions. Finally, we felt the price was very reasonable for an apartment in the heart of Paris. |

Overall had a very positive experience with using your agency. The reservation and contracting process were user friendly and the responses were always prompt. The photos on the site of the property were accurate in terms of the apartment lay out, furnishings and view. Marie Noel was waiting for us as planned and walked us through the unit, showing us how to use the appliances, etc. In general the apartment was lovely and the location in the city was great. Though it was mentioned in the write up, the fact that this was a 4th floor walk up should be emphasized. My niece and I are fairly fit, but even for us this was tiresome especially with packages. We talked to Marie Noel briefly the day before we left but that was the extent of our interaction with her. Thanks for your help with our accommodations. I would certainly recommend your agency to others and would use it again. |

Thank you for making our stay in Paris so delightful. The Boulangers property was just as described; the staff couldn't have been more professional or helpful, awaiting us in the apartment, explaining everything we needed to know, etc. And the place was spotless. The apartment was perfect for us--and we expect to be staying there again, if it's available, when we return to Paris. It worked, and worked wonderfully. We have already recommended your company to friends and will continue to do so. |
The rue Boulangers apartment was just right for us and it was so calm that we can open the windows to hear the birds singing right in the middle of the town. Thank you very much for our wonderful Paris vacation. |

We went to Paris over New Years and found the reservation process flexible and accessible. Haven in Paris bent over backwards to accommodate us. The apartment was charming and extremely practical. It met all our needs (including computer and telephone access, laundry, and kitchen facilities). It was small, but well laid out and very charming with a lovely view of Notre Dame to remind us we were in Paris. I would go back in a heartbeat. Mariane. Why HiP? See above. |

We had a wonderful time on our trip to Paris, and the Rue des Boulangers apartment was one of the best parts of our trip. It was very convenient, and beautifully furnished. Your haveninparis website is great. The write-up was accurate and the photos were very appealing. The folder at the apartment with instructions, recommendations, was very helpful. The photocopies of the bus lines was especially useful, since those are not as generally available as Metro maps. Our greeter, Marie Noel, was excellent, and very helpful. We had some difficulty with the computer and with the adapter plugs we had brought with us, and she very quickly did what was needed. She stayed in touch and wanted to make sure everything was all right. Thank you, Marie Noel! We look forward to another trip before too long, and will certainly check out your website! Thanks for all your good work. |
Just a note to let you know how much we LOVED the apartment. It really was one of the highlights of our trip. We would very much like to come back and stay in one of your apartments in the future. Thank you for helping to make it such a nice experience for us. |

My friend Karen and I just returned from 10 glorious days in Paris. We were a little apprehensive about renting an apartment from pictures on a website but Haven In Paris lived up to everything on their website. The apt was just as it is pictured so that when we walked through the door we felt right at home. It is very well equipped and has everything you could possibly need. Even the pullout sofa bed was comfortable. Our driver from Elysee Cars was very polite and helped us get our heavy bags up the stairs. Katherine and Marie Noel (our greeters) were also lovely. The views are fabulous and the sounds of pigeons cooing, children going to school and the Bells of Notre Dame will never be forgotten. The apt is ideally located. There is a Metro station at either end of the street. Great open markets on Rue Monge where you can buy fresh vegetables, fruit, cheese, fish, meats, just about anything. And always fresh bread and croissants in the patisseries right on the corners. We hadn't planned on doing so much cooking but the food at the markets was so deliciously fresh we really enjoyed it. And we always finished up our meals with a glass of wine (or 2 or 3) at Le Petit Cardinal, the cafe down on the corner. We spent our days out walking and exploring (and of course shopping) the beautiful city of Paris but it always felt good to come "home" to our apt rather than a hotel room. We even started to enjoy the 5 flight of stairs to the apt after we recovered from our jet lag. My first trip to Paris was absolutely fabulous from beginning to end and I want to thank Haven In Paris for helping to make it so. I will definitely be back!!!!! |

Extremely helpful service from Haven in Paris. Made the process easy to follow. The Apartment is very convenient to all the Paris great places. Ready access to Metro a plus. You feel in Paris and at Home the moment you arrive. Many visits to nearby museums and Notre Dame. Had wonderful time. Thank you. rk |

My mother and I arrived in Paris 10 long and wonderful days ago. It saddens us to leave! This apartment couldn’t have been better- the location and charm! Coming home every evening was the best part of our day ? Things we recommend: Orsay, Rodin, Versailles, Vaux-le-Vicomte, Eiffel Tower (go up! Stay for the lights!), Kayser (we treated ourselves every day! Thank goodness for the four flights of stairs!), river tour, museum pass (no lines. Just plan accordingly and it will pay for itself!), Sacre Coeur. And most importantly- walk Paris. What a beautiful city. Thank you. |

What a wonderful apartment- very comfortable and outstanding view. Roy and I had last been in Paris for a weekend 17 years ago with my sister when we were visiting her in London. We always wanted to return. Now, we were here with our daughters, 11 and 14 years old. We had a wonderful week. We found Parisians to be very friendly with a great sense of humor. We loved the cafes, the patisseries, and picnics in Luxembourg Garden. The metro is amazingly clean, quiet, and efficient (much better than Boston’s subway system). We got the 6-day museum pass, which was a real bargain, especially for cutting lines. The museums are great: Orsay, Cluny, Louvre, Versailles. A highlight of our trip was the top of the Eiffel tower and, what I think of as the “roof of Paris”, Sacre Coeur dome. The interior of Notre Dame was more impressive than I imagined. We all love Paris and hope to return some day. PS- It was really cool to hear the Parisians cheering, singing, and blowing horns at 10:30 when France beat Spain 3-0 in soccer (le “foot-ball”) |

Bonjour! What a wonderful experience this was for my very first time in Paris! In spite of the almost unbearable heat, Corrine and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit! The temperature has been in the 90s to low 100s both mornings and evenings. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the apartment and it was a perfect enhancement to our overall Paris experience. The cooing of the pigeons in the morning was a guarantee we would get up early and have a day and night packed with many wonderful experiences. There wasn’t enough time to fit everything in, but that’s ok! My recommendation is to do less and spend more time enjoying some of the very basic things that Paris has to offer- drinking coffee at one of the many cafes, late night strolls, picnics in the parks, and of course, create your own experiences. I will take my own advice on my next visit! Merci et au revoir! |

It’s been 100 degrees every day! Oh la la!! In spite of the heat, we’ve had a wonderful stay (walking the city in the morning, seeking relief from the heat at the museums and department stores in the afternoon, and returning to wandering the city late at night once it has cooled down!). Recommendations: 1- If you love bread, make the trip to Poilane on rue du Cherche-Midi and while there, do a little window shopping at the great boutiques that line the street. 2- Don’t miss the Bon March for the most amazing food- the display/presentation is outstanding and the taste too! 3- If you like to shop, come to Paris in July…everything virtually everywhere is on sale 30-70% off!!! 4- We loved le Petit Prince and le Petit Pontoise, also tried Relais de l’Entrecote, where all they serve is Entrecote and Pommes Frites! The apartment was lovely (“tres Francais”) including the four flights of stairs- we will definitely be back…Merci beaucoup. PS – For the most delicious food and friendly service I highly recommend “Le Moulin a Vent” on rue des Fosses Saint-Bernard. Without question the best meal we had in Paris. The food far outweighs the atmosphere, which, if you sit outside, is noisy. Also recommend “Chez Denise”, open 24 hours. |

My old friend Sheila Barnes, (an ex-Pan-Am also!) and I arrived 10 glorious days ago to celebrate our respective birthdays (may I say major birthdays!). We were here vacationing together in 1969, and decided to rendez-vous in Paris once again- like the good old days! We’ve loved every minute of our stay. Your apartment is totally charming, authentic, well-equipped and just plain comfortable. We were so thrilled to have your place (our place for a while!) to come home to. We’ll especially miss looking out the window at night with Notre-Dame lit up so beautifully, with your French CDs playing in the background. A few suggestions: -orange card for metro/bus SO convenient and chap, even if only using for part of the week. -enjoyed breakfasts here most mornings- but “Petit Cardinale” on the corner nice for change -loved your idea of getting a dinner at le Bon Marche and bringing it back here with some wine. Delightful especially after an exhausting day. -A very inexpensive restaurant- crowded with students 5-10 minutes from here off the rue des Ecoles toward the Pantheon (rue de la Montagne St Genevieve). L’Etoile de Berger. -If near L’Opera- treat yourself (as my mother used to do 75 years ago when she was living here!) to ice cream (especially the strawberry!) aor whatever other patisserie at Café de la Paix (metro Opera). -Café at Rodin Museum excellent and so pleasant! -Museum card not worth it unless to avoid crowds. -Loved Rue Mouffetard and the music on Sunday. Also a delightful store (closed Sunday!) called La Tuile a Loup – 35 rue Daubenton. French pottery, linens, etc. We look forward to returning hopefully next year. It makes our departure a lot easier! |

Ken and I are hare from the San Francisco bay are on our honeymoon. Yes, Paris is the right place for a honeymoon! Although I don’t think we’ve contributed our share of public kissing; we’ll have to work on that. Paris is a great place to scope people kissing unabashedly- I was warned and it is so. I was also warned about the dog poop. There wasn’t as much of it as I was led to believe- thank God. I’d rather watch the sights than my feet. The apartment is charming and we are so grateful to have had the use of it! How wonderful to be so conveniently located, with a view and lots of lights and air, and then to find a lot of thoughtful touches, like a small but meaningful collection of books and cds, a dishwasher and laundry machine, and plenty of hot water. My only complaint is that the bed (huge and comfortable) is really two twin mattresses, so that I ended up in the crack every night (not very comfortable). We got a lot of use out of this journal, especially re: restaurant recommendations. We’d like to report that patisseries are usually good for either bread or pastry, but not both. We discovered that Kayser is best for bread but not pastries (this was borne out in retrospect as we were eating the pastry and remembered that all the locals in line with us had been buying bread). The little patisserie down on the corner (exit apt to right, go to first corner, it’s on the left) was great for pastries. We ate at Le Petit Pontoise, recommended by someone in this journal, and loved it. They are at: 9, rue de Pontoise, in the 5th. I strongly suggest making a reservation at 01 43 29 25 20. Try the duck with foie gras on top- yum! Travel suggestion: pack a few band-aids and apply them before you get blisters on your feet. Then you won’t get any. Oh- I was also warned of the absence of abundant and free public bathrooms. A good rule of thumb is: always use the toilet in a restaurant when you eat. Then you won’t get stuck with an emergency and no change. Also, carry kleenex. We loved it here- you will too! |
We stayed here for a week and loved it. There is an excellent view of Notre Dame; be sure to look at it during various times each day. At night, there was a cool breeze, making it easier to sleep. When it was a very hot night, we used the fan in the near closet. A few restaurants we liked: L’Ecurie: excellent French food and a really friendly atmosphere. (Up the rue de la Montagne Ste. Genevieve nearly to the top). Le Moissonier: great French food, a little bit fancy (28, rue des Fosses St-Bernard, 5th). Majarajah: good Indian food in a beautiful room (a ten minute walk away on St. Germain. Turn left on St. Germain to start walking). Have a great stay!! |

We arrived just before Easter- a beautiful sunny Friday. We were pooped, but started exploring immediately. We enjoyed dinner at Petit Pontoise. Lovely staff, yummy food. Thank you Deirdre for the recommendations and advice. Au Bon Marche was a wonder- we went back several ties. We also went to Angelina’s for the hot chocolate ancienne- holy cow! The boulangeries in the neighborhood are lovely- both Kayser’s and also the corner Cardinal Lemoine. The boulangerie at 123 Monge is worth the walk. Make sure to buy a Carte Orange. Way cheap and easy. We ate at Ourcine right off of avenue des Gobelins on rue Broca. Absolutely delicious and the service was great. If you have the time, go to Poilane bakery on Cherche Midi. WOW. The time went so quickly- I will miss the beautiful views each morning as we had our coffee and croissants. Thanks for the apartment. |

..travelling with my 11-year-old cousin on my 1st trip to Paris in over 10 years…our stay here reminded me how much I loved Paris. After completing the 4-flight climb with over-stuffed luggage (I’d forgotten this detail in the description), we were immediately charmed by this lovely apt. We discovered it perfectly appointed…blending old and new…function with aesthetics…and very, very French. We loved the neighborhood…Metro accessible to major sites…we found people friendly and helpful in spite of my very limited French…Champion market was perfect for last-minute and forgotten basics… Unfortunately, due to jet-lag, we missed the local open market…found bakeries and the bottom of the hill perfect for up-late-pre-sightseeing breakfasts. I stumbled on an unlikely surprise, recommended by a friend who left Paris 2 years ago, after residing here for 18 years. Unbelievably (to me), he suggested that I take my 11 year old cousin (he has kids her age) on a dinner cruise along the Seine. Expecting so-so food and a touristy scene, I randomly selected Bateaux Parisiens. To my delighted surprise I enjoyed a wonderful dinner- excellent food, wonderful dinner- excellent food, wonderful table guests- Canadians and non-Parisian French out for a romantic evening…and indeed the setting was very romantic. Though, not a choice for children…it’s yet another Paris idea for a very romantic evening. My cousin and I had a great time…she hated the many stairs, loved the pomme frites and was inspired and delighted by the museums. The apt’s arrangements allowed us adequate space to enjoy our preferred relaxation activities- MTV for her, a book for me…we had a WONDERFUL time!!! |
Thank you for allowing us to stay in your lovely apartment. We celebrated 30 years of marriage in Paris- an unforgettable and memorable experience. |
We again had a great stay here. The stairs can get to you, but what a city. If you tire of the ‘big’ sights, take in Ste Etienne du Mont on Clovis. It’s an amazing church, there were no crowds, no fees, etc. |
We have just spent 10 pleasant days in Paris, and were very happy to have this apartment as a comfortable- if transient- home. For us Paris is a city of familiar culture, grace, elegance- and old friends, and the flat was a great location for entertaining and relaxing. |

Bill and I were here for our 20th anniversary and had a wonderful time. The apartment is perfect- all the amenities, mostly quiet (the children can be noisy!) and very convenient. We enjoyed several excellent meals- as usual the Petit Pontoise was friendly and provided a delicious meal. L’Epi Dupin was very good as in the guidebooks. So expect many tourists speaking English. Near St. Sulpice we found Seraphim- very casual, mostly locals and very interesting variations on classic themes- excellent food. My French girlfriend suggests La Cigale Recamer near Sevres-Babylone for its pretty patio and souffle. If you are simply hungry, tried and want good food that is fresh and lightly spiced- try Le Jardin des Pates. It is very close by on rue Lacepede. Ex-cellar on rue des Ecoles- sells good value wine and champagne. We enjoyed breads and patisserie from Kayser- pain aux noisettes is my favorite! We were pleasantly surprised by the visit to find food, wine, and many other things. Well priced as compared to the US and Canada! For those who are foodies and who love to cook- look for E. Dihillerin on rue Coquilliere at Metro Etienne Marcel. Very entertaining- the staff could do stand up comedy- and wonderful kitchenware for theose of us who love to cook!We love Paris- and are always delighted to be here. This apartment makes a wonderful home away from home. |
The apartment was perfect and we felt like we know and really liked the owner! |
This apartment has been absolutely amazing. It has been upwards of 33 degrees the entire time I have been here with my parents and this was the perfect place to come “home” to. Everything about this apartment was perfect. Thank you so much. |
I’ve spent a week in your lovely apt with my niece and her boyfriend. We’ve had a great time. The location is terrific with the two metros and all the bakeries! After all the croissants, the stairs weren’t quite so bad. Enjoyed two local restaurants “Le Jardin des Plats” (Italian) and “Yu Hua” (Chinese), both in the neighborhood. Also went to the Irish pub down the street. Interesting. Thanks for sharing your home with us! |

We have spent a wonderful time in Paris. We came for a 50th birthday party held at an African restaurant in the 11th. We were here with the birthday family, each of us having our own apartment. They clearly thought we had the best and kept trying to trade ? .We saw a lot of Paris and can’t wait to return. Don’t be afraid to try different cuisines. We had food from Africa, Thailand, Creole, and Taillevent restaurant! Thank you for sharing. |

We had a wonderful vacation- we arrived to frigid temperatures, which lasted for several days, then gave way to gorgeous, sunny days. Paris changed overnight. Everyone came outside and seemed never to leave. Here are the restaurants we went -Le Buisson Ardent, 5eme- loved it. (Bring your phrasebook- no Eng.) -Le Petit Pointoise, 5eme- cozy, friendly, delicious food -Le Petit Cardinale- we never had dinner but went here upon waking up every day for café and tartine confiture or croissant -Brasserie Bofinger, 2eme or 3eme? Kind of close- ‘worth seeing’- a grand Parisian place, oysters and champagne- wonderful- rest of food- just ok. -Le Kitchen Galerie- 6eme- 1st dinner there mind-blowing; returned- had lousy service, uneven food. -Fish (La Boissonerie) 6eme- Loved it! Juan, the owner, is an expat who moved here in ’89. Has a lovely (French) wine store nearby and chose 6 reasonable bottles for us to carry on. Preparations at Fish are not too heavy, which is a nice change. We went 2x’s, 2nd time was even better. Met so many fascinating people due to close quarters (of tables). -Aux Lyonnais (2eme or 3eme?)- lovely setting- very old bistro taken over by Alain Ducasse. Set menu reasonable (30-ish euros) -Brasserie Balzar down the street in 5eme- interesting- not my favorite but a cool experience (many profs/students from Sorbonne) – set menu of app, plat, wine for 24 euros. -Le Petit Canard – 9eme (out of way but not too far from metro – in Pigalle area- best restaurant in our opinions. (You need to like duck though.) Very un-touristy, super friendly, English spoken, pate to die for, as all dishes were! They even have a farm where they raise their own ducks ?. Not to be missed!! We also ate at Hiramatsu. Very expensive, but amazing. (we were celebrating our engagement- Seth proposed in Paris ? ) Very formal, modern French restaurant. Service unbelievable- food innovative and over-the-top delicious. 130 euros/ person for several courses + wine. In the 14eme. Agree re: Maison Kayser- we had the Mixte Sandwich over and over again for lunch. Au Revoir! |
We came to Paris to visit our daughter (she is spending the first semester of her junior year of college studying in Paris) and celebrate her 21st birthday on October 28. It has been a wonderful trip and the apartment has been just perfect for us- the location is ideal and the view out to Notre Dame is very special. Thank you so much!! |
This trip to Paris could not have been any hotter. It was nice to start the day with café au lait and the remarkable view. The evenings were perfect with a glass of vin and the lights on the Notre Dame. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home with us. |
What a wonderful time I’ve had here in this charming apartment. I’ve had several friends come and stay with me and they have all loved it too. There are so many things to say about this place- the pleasant feeling of coming “home” at the end of each day, the light and fresh air from the big windows, the bells and view of Notre Dame, and the lovely aura – in a nutshell, it’s wonderful. I even love the four flights of stairs and felt that I could have one more piece of cheese and another croissant! I hope to return soon but even if I can’t I certainly have some great memories. Thank you. |
Thank you for sharing this lovely apartment. This was the end of a very long trip for me, and it was wonderful to be in a real home for 2 weeks. PS I recommend the Musee Jacquemart-Andre (stay for lunch in their café, if only for the Tripolo ceiling). |
What a perfect place to call a home away from home! This was our first trip to Paris and we have thoroughly enjoyed it. Even our 2.5 year daughter loved it and calls this apt her ‘Paris home’. We came to realize that this apt was in the most beautiful and nicest part of Paris. We felt we could mingle with the locals (who were all very friendly and helpful). All the precious eateries recommended were great- the Kayser bakery is great but if you want to just run down quickly, the boulanger down the street (near Cardinal Lemoine) is wonderful as well. The sandwich place across from Jussieu (on rue des boulangers) is also great for a ‘on the run sandwich’. Notre-dame was beautiful and we had breakfast every morning looking at it. |
What an amazing apartment! We were pleasantly surprised each day at how wonderful your apartment is. It was perfect for two college-age sisters on our first journey alone, without the parents. The neighborhood was so friendly! We loved just walking around and meeting all of the friendly people. We found that the museum pass was the most cost- and time-efficient way to see the museums. You can see as many museums as you want and the best part…NO LINES!!! We strongly recommend it to anyone staying for two weeks or less. Another thing we loved was going to the area around the Eiffel Tower one night, getting some crepes and watching the tower sparkle for 5 minutes after the hour. Touristy, we know, but very beautiful and very fun…a chance to breathe and talk while looking around at the beautiful city. Our favorite museums were La Conciergerie and Musee de l’assistance Publique Hopitaux. The former was the favorite of the future law student and the latter for the med student, as you can imagine…but we both loved both of these museums and would suggest a visit to both. It helps to read up on the history of La Conciergerie to get the full effect. ? We don’t want to sound too repetitive of the previous entries, but would just like to reiterate that Kayser really is a fantastic boulangerie / patisserie. Try the tarte framboise…it is to die for! A restaurant we loved was called Chez Henri au Moulin a Vent. It is very close…about a 5-minute walk…at 20, rue des Fosses-St Bernard. It is a little on the expensive side, but definitely worth it. The Chateaubriand is some of the best we’ve ever had. A true treat! We hope this helps anyone who stays in this beautiful apartment after us. We had an amazing time! Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful apartment with us! We can’t wait to come back in the years to come!! |

What a charming apartment! As I think back over the past few days and as I listen to yet another set of church bells chiming in the nearby neighborhood, I am reminded of several things: -all the bakeries in the vicinity (I tried them all!) -the many beautiful churches -the delicious evening meals we prepared in this tiny kitchen -the quaint windows and shutters -all the wonderful books on France and Paris in particular, in the etagere -going down in the evening to send messages home in the Internet café -my father understanding more French than I knew he knew -my daughter’s earnest attempts at expressing herself in this beautiful language -the friendly Siamese cat belonging to a neighbor -and last but not least…the 4 sets of stairs Enjoy yourselves in Paris! Do be careful too- the pickpockets are about. Oh, I almost forgot. The markets are wonderful for fresh produce. Each morning, I would set off with my camera in search of bread for breakfast and of pictures to take. I found both, to my distinct pleasure |

June 3-14, 2004 My husband of just over 3 weeks and I have come to Paris for a month to immerse ourselves in the culture and lifestyle. We had both been to Paris before (separately) and wanted to spend more time in this magical place. So I guess it’s been a fabulous start to our 5-month honeymoon…basically biggest ‘grand tour’ of both our lives!! This apartment has exceeded our expectations. 1- the brilliant view- when I saw on the internet that there was a view of Notre Dame, I knew it would be great- but it is even better…the clear summer skies- late evenings- light ‘til 10:30-11 pm… (I digress…the soccer is on tonight, and with less than half a minute left, the French drew level with England- and then scored a penalty to win- we turned off the tv and opened the French windows to hear the roar across Paris!!) 2- the beautiful area and quiet, calm atmosphere. 3- Beautiful pictures, books- I love Les Miserables and the radio /cd player the best channel is 89.9 TSF for jazz!! 4- Great bed – lots of space! We hardly turned on the tv- hey, there’s Paris outside! Unfortunately we must move to another apartment tomorrow- but still in Paris! Our suggestions: -hire a bike from Rue Cardinal Lemoine turn left up the hill…we rode to Bois de Vincennes today and enjoyed the jazz, then back through Place de Nation and Bastille. -Expensive drinks, but tres cool- Buddha Bar on Rue Anglas, just off Place de la Concorde -Pont des Arts for an evening picnic -Rue Monge and rue Mouffetard are tres joli! And markets are good! -If you have to meet a friend/family member at a pre-arranged location: we decided to meet at 1) at Arc de Triomphe next to the pylon closest to the Eiffel Tower at 6 pm; 2) at Bois de Boulogne at Station Porte d’Auteuil 3) metro direction La Defense- at station Pont de Neuilly on the left facing La Defense. Not having a mobile phone made it fun! Have a great time in Paris- thank you for a great place and great experience. -Katrina Harris As my bride has just mentioned, our oh-too-short time here has been just beautiful… The presentation, the position and the overall feel of the apartment are a credit to all concerned. After a sunny Sunday afternoon of riding hired bicycles from around the corner to Bois de Vincennes and back, I’m ready to collapse into the comfort of the king-sized bed in the next room. To all that follow: Enjoy!! |

First week with 2 women friends then a week with my daughter-in-law – we all loved the apartment and the view out of these beautiful windows always make the stair clime worthwhile. My feet are so sore, we have walked at least a thousand miles! Our favourite thing was to find a new neighbourhood to wander around and to eat eat eat and drink lots of wine! Favourites- boat trip on the Seine that goes up Canal St Martin, you pass through 9 locks, takes 3 hours. Le Chalaland- on the Quai on Canal St Martin. Some of the best food we ate here. La Petit Pontoise – 10 min. walk on rue Pontoise La Gamin de Paris- rue Vielle du Temple in the Marais Le Cochon a L’Oreille – 15 rue Montmartre in Les Halles. |

My husband and I loved living in your apartment for two weeks. It was our first trip to Paris and we chose this time to celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary. We live in Eugene, Oregon, and have many friends and relatives who have spent time in this romantic city. We spent months researching our plans, and finding your apartment on the internet was perfect for us. Your collection of music and books helped us to feel at home in this new place. Your guide books about the city have us such good information to use as we planned our days. Each day was an adventure. The weather was interesting- cool and rainy at first- then like summer for the entire week. One day we had hail!! Two different evenings (one week apart) we had thunder and lightning. Loved it. This was our last night here. We are sad to be leaving. Our memories will be rich and last a lifetime. Some of the best memories are: The magnificent view; The cooing of birds outside our windows every morning and evening; The lightning over Notre Dame; The glorious sunny days; The ‘lily of the valley’ outside; (lilacs and purple iris too) The breezes in the evening; The bells at Notre Dame; The sound of children at play; The markets- fresh flowers and cheeses and vegetables and herbs; Kayser desserts and bread!!! The little bakery on our corner, too; Great wines!! Restaurants and sites galore! Metro- great, easy, efficient; Museums- loved Rodin and Orsay. Thank you for making your apartment available to people like us. It was perfect in every way. |
We will rent the apartment again. We thought it charming, convenient and fun. Good!!! The Maubert Market particularly great. Olives, flowers, and vegetables. The bakery at the corner is over-rated. Restaurant Au Buisson Ardente is well worth a visit. Good food and reasonable prices- and 5 minutes away. The weekly Bus and Metro pass- we used this whenever possible. |

I arrived alone to attend the Cordon Bleu cooking school. The minute I entered the apartment I felt comfortable. I was a bit uneasy about being alone and non-French-speaking (although comfortable in Paris). After a strenuous week of school, I was glad to see Paul on Sat 16 March. His only complaint was how many stairs up with a heavy suitcase. We settled in together for another lovely week. And what a lovely week we enjoyed here! The quiet and comfort are the best we’ve found in 12 years! We enjoyed the Pompidou and the Picasso museums. The Marmottan is wonderful also. |
