This was the third time I have stayed at this apartment in the past couple of years. It has started to feel like a home-away-from-home for me. The apartment is a very stylish space in the heart of the most beautiful part of the Marais which is, in turn, to my mind, the most charming part of Paris. There is something absolutely delightful about staying in a place that feels like "yours": whether it be returning home with a still-warm baguette (try Pain de Sucre at 14 rue Rambuteau) and cheese (hard to go past the vieux comté from 13 rue Rambuteau), or a bottle of Bourgogne that has been recommended by Alex at the Cave Elzévir (16 rue Elzévir) For coffee - the real stuff (very important for visiting Australians) - don't miss Terres de Café at 14 rue Rambuteau. As for the apartment, it has a real "wow" factor. It is very comfortable. The highlights for me are the views both onto the street and the courtyard, the fully functional kitchen, the enormous walk-in shower, and the overall sense of light and space that comes from being in a 16th century hôtel particulier. As always, upon departing, I found myself wondering just how soon I can justify a return visit... |

My husband and I just returned from Paris where we celebrated our ten year anniversary. The Elzevir apartment couldn't have been more perfect for the occasion. We had originally booked a hotel, but I felt like I needed more space and less of a touristy experience. Renting an apartment in the Marais was the best vacation decision I've ever made. It was right in the middle of the action, yet on a quiet, charming side street. I could've spent the entire week exploring the Marais, but alas there were museums and churches to see. The apartment itself was very well appointed with nice kitchenware, lots of fluffy towels, books on Paris (in case you don't get around to advance planning), and a supply of very good coffee and tea. I only wished there was some milk on hand, as I arrived early morning and needed coffee. But there were fresh flowers and a bottle of wine, so I could hardly complain. Perumal greeted us, showed us around the apartment and helped us get connected to the wireless network. He was very professional and efficient; just what we needed after a long night of travel. We hired David (taxi service referred on the HIP website) to take us to and from the airport. He was waiting for us as we exited customs, took our bags and gave us a very nice intro to the City. He sent a friend to pick us up for the return trip, who was equally professional. In general, the communication with HIP was very good and consistent through the whole process. I always felt like I was dealing with real professionals. I just wish we could've stayed another week. |

I was so lucky to stumble upon Haven in Paris. The staff was easy to make arrangements with and provided all the useful information we could have asked for. The Elzevir apartment exceeded our expectations. The building was beautiful and could not have been in a better location. The neighbors are quiet and friendly. I was extremely impressed at how well equipped the apartment was, and how kind and thoughtful Perumal was to us. He even walked me to the Avis car rental at Hotel de Ville after checkout to make sure I found it. He went well beyond the call of duty, and was a big reason why our stay was so enjoyable. I've already recommended Haven in Paris to my parents, who in the past have rented apartments in Paris from other companies with mixed success. We're packing up to leave tomorrow morning, and we wanted to thank you all for a wonderful stay. We have had a really lovely time in the Marais with our two sons. We've mostly just been strolling the streets, flaneur style, enjoying Paris Plage, the museums, and the street life. We spent a day at the Louvre doing a treasure hunt with Paris Muse, which was great for the boys, and just today went to the Military Museum. Above all, we have so enjoyed the peace and tranquility (and excellent design!) of the apartment, which has allowed us to feel so at home here. We've already recommended it to several of our friends. So thanks again, we will be sorry to leave tomorrow, but hope to return soon. |

We loved the Elzevir property. Loved it. I had prepared myself in case it was smaller than I imagined and was so pleasantly surprised to find it LARGER. It is a beautiful flat and the architect's details in the open plan, the kitchen with the strategic lighting, hidden fridge and window to the stairwell, the bathroom portholes, were very much noted and appreciated. We fell in love with the courtyard garden that the windows looked out into. So very charming and so hidden Paris. And while we were already familiar with the Marais as close friends had a flat on Rue Barbette where we stayed a few times, the best part of the trip was feeling as if we lived in Paris in the absolutely best spot. We made it a challenge to discover the best Boulanger in the area and while HIP's recommendations were good, we think we found an even better baguette on the Rue Turenne. Our last night, which happened to be my birthday, we had a perfect meal at Camille, right on the corner. We would rent the property again without question. Excellent location, beautifully appointed and so user friendly. Would highly recommend to a couple with a small child. Our five-year old loved it. My only recommendation to improve the stay at this property would be a more comfortable and roomier couch! The existing couch -- which converts to a roomy, yet too firm bed (hard to sleep on for us who prefer medium firmness and memory foam) -- is not very inviting especially when friends came over. We found ourselves left with only one recourse-- the bed which was low and not our preferred way to sit! The bed was also a bit too firm for us to sleep on but we got used to it by the end of the week. A pillow top would help! Our favorite spot: the small table in the beautiful kitchen where we had our p'tit dej every day. Our greeter, Perumal, was very helpful, courteous and professional. He was there before we arrived and everything was in perfect order. He was easy to contact and when we did was quite helpful. The taxi driver from Andy's that picked us up at the airport was friendly and helpful. We thought we had scheduled a pickup to return to the airport but they never showed up so we took a taxi upon Perumal's recommendation and got there in a half hour for half the price! I would and have already recommended Haven in Paris to everyone I know. You exceeded our expectations. Your blog is superb and incredibly helpful. We absolutely loved the Elzivir apartment and would very happily return again if we can. The property was in very good condition and everything worked as it should. It was clean and tidy with good supplies of essentials such as loo paper etc and lots of towels. A big plus! Our greeter was Perumal we were happy with the info Perumal provided. He was on time to meet us at the apartment and responded to emails when we wanted some advice regarding getting to the main train station when we ere leaving Paris. We have shown our friends and family the website of the apartment and our photos and all have been impressed. It really is a great property in a wonderful location. Really, we wouldn't change a thing. The apartment looked exactly as it did on the website and I really liked that as there is nothing worse then being being let down on arrival. It really was perfect! We also want to compliment the team at Haven in Paris for keeping the communication going so well before we arrived. It really made the whole process easier. The rue Elzevir apartment is an ideal base for a stay in Paris. It is centrally located in the best area of the best arrondissement, yet it is very peaceful and quiet inside the apartment. Rue Elzevir has hardly any vehicular traffic, since most cars take the parallel streets rue Pave or old Temple. And we barely heard a peep through the walls during our nine-day stay. Inside, the apartment is flooded with light from enormous windows overlooking the gardens of the museum across the street. It is up two quick flights of stairs from a charming courtyard. I've rented Paris apartments where you had to walk a block back into the building to get to your staircase, but not here at rue Elzevir. From the front door lockset to the kitchen appliances to the bathroom fixtures, everything is absolutely top quality in this apartment. And the staff at Haven in Paris couldn't make renting easier or inspire more confidence in advance of your arrival that the rental will go smoothly. There is one problem with rue Elzevir -- like us, you may not want to leave. Why HiP? Confidence that everything would be as advertised. |

I did want to let you know we so enjoyed the apartment and neighborhood, we plan on returning next year. You all were great in staying in touch before, during and after our visit and got back to me immediately with any questions. The greeter was wonderful and so willing to work with our schedule. The apartment felt spacious, yet cozy and we loved the view of the courtyard with its vines edging their way up the sides of the building. Parumal, who greeted us, was very personable and helpful. His communications before our trip were always polite and professional. Andy's taxi service met us at the airport without a problem, but was stuck in traffic on our departure date. However, they did arrange for another service to take us to the airport, so that worked out well. Sasha (the HIP concierge) got us great seats for the ballet and all interaction with her was a pleasure. We had no issues with the flat being clean and tidy. Whoever took care of that did a very nice job. |

We stayed at the Elzevir property for 10 days. The apartment was exactly as described/pictured. It was well stocked with all the necessary amenities and very comfortable. We found this apartment just perfect for us in every way—it was exactly as described/photographed on the website, and the location could not have been better. The Marais neighborhood (and this quiet street/courtyard in particular), we were told by Parisian friends, are the epitome of where a chic Parisian would want to live! Elzevir was a hip, modern, smartly designed apartment. Plenty of space for parents and a kid -- the sofa bed was surprisingly comfortable and exceeded our expectations. The open shower was fun. Amazing location with great restaurants, shopping, and museums just steps from the front door. Particularly loved Restaurant Camille at the end of the block. Why HiP? Great website, especially the pictures. Also the hip Paris blog is excellent. I would note that it was never clear whether we should tip our greeters, and that was a source of a bit of uncertainty. Also, I found that the greeters were very helpful when asked for assistance, but they did not openly offer concierge type services (restaurant reservations etc.) so we were a bit shy about asking for that type of help. It would be very nice if, in addition to showing the property, they explicitly said that they would be happy to help perform concierge services both at the beginning and over the course of the trip. Note from HiP: Tipping in France can be tricky, and we apologize if the greeter's role was not made clearer. My husband and i really enjoyed the stay at the apartment. we have been renting apartments in Paris for years, and HIP is by far the best. The service was top notch and the amenities at the place were amazing. Everything was so comfortable and clean, and interior was modern and well designed. It was mid January, but the place had excellent heating system that we could control to make it toasty whenever we wanted which is very rare in old Paris buildings. We loved the big windows looking out to the garden of a museum next door that had outdoor sculpture on display during our stay. We love the neighborhood since it's close to all the best of Paris as well as it being on a super cute, quiet street. It made us feel like Parisian not just visitors. We will definitely stay at the place again, and we already recommended the site to many friends! Why HiP? My husband and I have been renting flats with Haven in Paris for the past two years. We first stayed in the des Abbesses flat, which we loved. Last year we decided to stay in the Marais and rented the flat on rue Elzevir. We loved the flat and the neighborhood so much we decided to stay there again this year. The flat is beautifully designed, well equipped, and (since we were there in December) well heated. We hope to stay there again next year because we now have some friends among the cafe and store owners in the neighborhood. Must also note we had Andy, the British driver, pick us up and take us to the airport--he was prompt, helpful, and lots of fun. Why HiP? We had a wonderful time in Paris and enjoyed the location and amenities of the Elzevir apartment. Yann was very timely in greeting us. Yann did a great job of showing us how to use the appliances, TV, computer etc. Thanks for the wine and flowers. Some people might find the arrangement of the sleeping area being separated from the living room area by only a drape to be a negative, but we didn't mind it at all. In fact we were impressed how the owners creatively used the apartment's space to provide storage living area, etc. We liked the high ceilings and all the windows overlooking the courtyard and street. The apartment was lovely, bigger than I thought it looked on the website and had all the amenities we could think of. The internet access, the ipod dock, the large shower and the laundry all added up to make the stay pure perfection. The neighborhood was the cherry on the sundae... pretty shops, delicious markets and cosy restaurants added to the appeal. We had a WONDERFUL stay at the apartment in Elzevir. We loved everything about it. The position, the beautifully appointed apartment and the fact that everything worked so well was a real pleasure to stay there. Yann was a very gracious host. Exceptional property, agency and overall rental experience. The apartment was perfect, exactly as shown on the website and as described in other reviews. We were lucky enough to rent Elzevir for two months from Mid May to Mid July and it worked perfectly for both work and vacation. The space is beautifully designed and built out, the renovation detail was incredible. The location is perfect, near everything in the Marais and central Paris but on a quiet side street with a calming view of the neighboring buildings, trees and open sky. David our driver arranged through HIP was great, a stressfree arrival and departure worth every euro. Yann our greeter explained everything and was available for questions the entire stay. Thomas our local Paris contact at HIP was there in 20 minutes when the internet went down and even called and arranged a SOS Medecin visit when I injured my foot - the service from the entire organization was truly exceptional. Tips? Try the wine shop down the street on Elzevir, the small cafe on the corner of Rue Sevigne by Parc Royal and the salads at Crepe Suzette (hard to find good salads in Paris). We had our favorite dinners at des Gars Dans la Cusine on Rue Vielle du Temple (the burger is the best in Paris). Explore the area around the Marche Enfants Rouge and the galleris near Rue Saintonge/Charlot. We had an incredible time and are already planning for next year. Why HiP? The website and email interaction with the staff was exceptional. Great selection of properties and locations. Very personalized service. |

We have returned to Australia and now settled back into life after our trip to Paris. We had a wonderful time and loved the Elzevir apartment - the design, layout and location was beautiful. The taxi driver (Paris luxury taxi) was there to meet us at the airport and help with our luggage while our greeter (Yann) was waiting in the apartment for us. Both were wonderful, warm and friendly. We just returned from a wonderful week in Paris at the Elzevir apartment. We were greeted by Olivier, who was wonderful and took the time to show us around the apartment. The apartment itself is fabulous and has all the amenities one needs to feel comfortable and at home! The apartment is in a great location in Marais - lots of cool boutiques and great restaurants and cafes. We loved the Marais neighbourhood and I definitely want to stay there on our next trip. We enjoyed some of the suggestions in the apartment guide and discovered a few other places on our own as well. After staying with Haven in Paris I would never book a hotel in Paris. In fact, I am looking forward to another trip soon and will definitely be staying with Haven in Paris. |

After staying in a wonderful apartment in the Marais, I will never stay at a hotel in Paris again. The property that we rented actually exceeded our expectations with great modern minimalist design, attention to detail, international cable, free phone calls and internet, great water pressure in the shower and a full kitchen. The apartment was conveniently located, just minutes from the nearest Metro and perfectly situated in the neighborhood. Highly, highly recommended. Why HiP? The apartment was beautiful and well equipped. We were a little worried about damaging the dining table and the wood kitchen counters, but the furnishings and design were actually quite functional. Our family -- especially my wife -- loved the Elzevir apartment. The location was terrific, and the apartment itself was full of every amenity we could want. My wife, who has a better-developed esthetic sensibility, appreciated the contemporary style of the layout and furnishings. We had just arrived from five days in Barcelona, where we had rented an apartment on the Ramblas, and the contrast between the apartments was striking: we were glad that Paris came after Barcelona on the itinerary! Among the amenities, the Internet access and free telephone service proved to be essential to making our way around the city and running errands (we were in Paris primarily for a wedding). One minor drawback was the inability (or extra fee?) for calling cell phones from the house telephone, as so many people in Paris are only accessible by cell phone. The greeter was very good, explaining every feature of the apartment thoroughly and patiently, even though we arrived late. He also gave us valuable tips concerning local boulangeries, restaurants, shops, etc. Why HiP? Now that we have some experience renting apartments abroad (Spain and also several apartments in Paris, when we lived there in 1997), I can state that Haven in Paris is exceptional, not only in their apartments, but also in the presentation on the Internet and in the rental process. |

Having just stayed in an overpriced stuffy hotel apartment in Ireland arriving at the Elzevir apartment was like a breath of fresh air for myself and my family. The apartment was imaculately clean, modern and gave us a much more real sense of parisian life. The district in which it was situated was not only trendy and modern but also very inviting and warm, with a multitude of cafe's, restaurants and bakeries to choose from all offering superb cuisine. Travelling with a 2 year old little girl and a 13 year old teenager became less stressful and much more relaxed because we had a beautiful haven to come home to! I wanted to make sure to write to tell you that we had an extraordinary time--and how much we loved that apartment. It was just heaven to come back to--so sublime aesthetically and really quiet--in the middle of that busy wonderful neighborhood. Mark spent a lot of time there, cooking and working--and he loved it too. We so hope to get a schedule soon enough to book it for when we go back. Thanks again for making it so easy and efficient. A delightful apartment, the photos on the website give an accurate representation of the property. The apartment is in a quiet corner of the lovely Marais area. A great place to stay if you want to escape the tourist traps but still have easy access to the best of Paris by foot, Metro or Velibe. There is a great little market, restaurants and shops nearby. First, we were very appreciative of the consideration and kindness shown by Olivier (our greeter). He was patient, helpful and thorough in his briefing on the apartment and the appliances. He also carried two heavy suitcases up the two flights. We found the apartment beautifully furnished. All the appliances are first class and the lighting is beautiful, with one shortcoming, there is only one reading lamp. Finally, the bed is very comfortable, but difficult to get out of for those over 25 years. Personally, I would raise the bed by two cinderblocks. The forgoing are not really complaints, but recommendations. I was particularly pleased to find sufficient laundry, dishwashing and sink soap and certain condiments in the apartment. The other occupants of the complex were all very friendly and kind, even the cats. We look forward to another visit soon. |

This rental company is excellent. They responded instantly, were available, gave accurate information and arranged for a great greeter, Olivier, to help us get to the apartment and get settled once we got there. We were traveling with three young kids (3, 8, and 9 years old) and the apartment was plenty big and comfortable for us. The kids really liked the circular window from the shower to the kitchen. We really liked the washer and dryer. We cooked several meals in the well stocked and outfitted kitchen. The towels, linen, and other accoutrements were also excellent. The Metro was very close and the Monoprix (supermarket and department store) down the block from the metro was fantastic. There were great boulangeries and traiteurs on rue St. Antoine. Having the Picasso museum down the block and the Pompidou center a short walk away was also great (get a museum pass for 4-6 days!). If you could please arrange to have the Carousel removed next to the metro the next time we visit we would get to see much more of Paris - thanks. I am recommending your company to everyone I know who is visiting Paris. |

We thought the apartment was fabulous, and Olivier, the greeter, was perfect. He even called us during the week to see how everything was going... a perfect pied-a-terre for two in Paris. The apartment was charming, well-decorated and well-equipped, with real thoughtfulness for short-term visitors. We were totally pleased with everything. We will happily return to rue Elzevir. I loved the apartment! Fabulous design, just the right space and light, and the neighborhood is so friendly. Camille's on the corner became our regular dining spot. Great food, nice people, I will rent the apartment again. Olivier is the best! He arranged for an excellent cab service and got us settled in, showed us how everything worked, and it was nice to know he was there to help out in case we ran into any difficulties. Thank you again for arranging the rental. We very much look forward to our next visit. |

It was a dream apartment, I would love to stay for about 3 months, and just loose myself in its fabulousness. I plan to use this apartment several times a year, it was SPECTACULAR. I normally stay at the usual haunts Ritz's Plaza Athene or the Park Hyatt, but they are so over priced and the rooms seem to becoming more like closets than the luxury of the past,that I will alway use any apartment that HIP recommends. Why HiP? The easy of the rental, great response times and wonderful staff, who truly cared. |
