We would absolutely recommend this place to travelers and, especially, honeymooners. Having the extra space of a kitchen & living room was brilliant & we very much appreciated its spaciousness compared to a hotel. The location - and proximity to several restaurants, bars, shops, and even the neighborhood market - was such a pleasant surprise. Plus, the Pompidou was easily within walking distance! Catherine kindly greeted us with a complete list of neighborhood suggestions and even walked us around the block to her favorite choices. Much appreciated. The place was extremely clean and very well decorated. It had all of the necessary amenities and then some. We would highly recommend this apartment as it made our honeymoon very memorable! |

We were planning our first family trip to Paris and had rented apartments before in Spain but were not thrilled with the quality of the apartments. A friend recommended Haven and the online reviews were excellent. They were also recommended by many of the top blogs and other travel sites. The reservation process was very easy and they were incredibly good about contacting us, providing information and instructions. Catherine met us at our lovely apartment in the Marais district and she is wonderful! Warm, excited and very helpful as she showed us how everything worked in the apartment and took us on a tour of the neighborhood! The tour was critical to our enjoyment as she showed us the best Boulangerie, a great place to buy shoes, grocery stores, and the hidden neighborhood gems that we would have missed otherwise. The apartment was very clean, quiet and comfortable. The beds (very important) were quality and the linens were top end. We would recommend Haven to all of our friends! Why HiP? The flat was great. So clean. Well laid out. I'd change nothing about it! Catherine was AMAZING. She really set the tone for our stay. She was incredibly generous with her time and our 4-year-old adored her. She was so great with getting us settled in the Marais. She made us feel welcomed and as if we had an old friend in Paris. We also booked our airport transfers with Andy Waters. While Andy didn't drive us, Laurent did. He was also great. He was on time and incredibly helpful. He even helped us carry our bags up all of the stairs to our flat! Above and beyond. Thank you again for all of your help. This was our first experience with a vacation apartment rental and it far exceeds all of our expectations. I've already recommended you to a number of people. The Hotel de Ville apartment is perfectly positioned in the fashionable Marais. Everything is on the doorstep - fabulous bread at the bakery across the road, delicious ice cream/gelato, a clutch of wine bars, even Portuguese egg tarts if they take your fancy. Paris' most celebrated sights and museums are easily walkable and, if your feet tire, the metro is nearby too. Catherine was waiting for us when we arrived and after showing us around the apartment gave us an impromptu tour of the area and her favourite restaurants. Au Petit Fer a Cheval, its tiny dining room tucked behind a horse shoe shaped bar, was our favourite. |

My stay at this charming 1-bdrm Marais apartment was nothing but a wonderful pleasant experience from start. Catherine, the greeter, was every bit helpful and informative with vast knowledge of the neighborhood, and made me feel comfortably at ease with my new home for the next week. This apartment wasn’t my first choice for a last minute booking to stay in Paris, but upon arriving the apartment, it immediately cleared my doubts. Although it is petite, there’s still enough space and closet to store my many belongings. The building is easy to access in and out, and although this is a 3rd floor walkup, the staircase is wide and steps are low and easy to climb. The color scheme of the apartment is very stylishly modern with a tinge of New York, all furniture are carefully selected, with sofa upholstered to match the room, and walls are adorned with many original artworks that reflect the personality of the space. In short, it has plenty of nice details which is hard to see from photo shown on the website alone. Personally I think it’s an ideal apartment for a single or a couple of travelers, who can enjoy the convenience of staying at a central location (the metro is only a few minutes walk away), with a bustling neighborhood for sightseeing and shopping, and plenty of late night dining options. For a taste of Americana, there’s a Starbuck just a stone throw away from this apartment. Why HiP? The ease of booking and efficient email reply. |

No suggestions on the quality of Hotel de Ville--it was absolutely perfect for us. Catherine was the most wonderful, kind person we could imagine. She was helpful and responsive with our questions leading up to the trip, so gracious in meeting us and showing us around when we got there, helped us out with a few questions during the trip, and feels like a true friend in Paris. We used Luxe Taxi for our airport transport and that was a good experience as well. Mark, David's brother, was our driver and he was prompt and carried our luggage up three flights of stairs both times. It was nice to have transport already taken care of once we arrived so we had one less thing to stress about. The flat was immaculate--but at the same time we felt comfortable to make it our home. Beautifully decorated as well. |

We rented several apartments during our recent trip to Europe but we found the experience with Haven in Paris by far the easiest and most helpful & informative. It gave us great confidence knowing exactly where we were going and exactly what to expect. The hostess was terrific, despite us arriving an hour later than expected (due to unbelievably heavy traffic) she waited and still spent nearly an hour with us explaining all about the apartment then taking us on a quick tour of the local neighbourhood to point out all the recommended eating, shopping places etc. If we are lucky enough to get to Paris again I would not hesitate to book with Haven in Paris again. Although small the apartment was spotlessly clean and extremely central. Climbing 3 flights of stairs after a long day of walking was the only negative but the way we looked at it was, it helped to work off some of the many croissants we consumed! Why HiP? What a lovely apartment and bustling neighborhood. This was a perfect location to base ourselves in. Thank you for waiting for us when our flight was delayed and we arrived after 11PM--and giving us a neighborhood tour at midnight! |

The apartment was very stylish, decorated with a mixture of antiques, modern furniture and art. The kitchen and bath were stocked with everything we needed (including a Macbook!--very useful for planning our days) and the whole apartment was spotless. Catherine had a bottle of wine, bread, chocolate, fresh flowers and other goodies waiting for us. She even showed us around the neighborhood. The book that she put together about the apartment and neighborhood was incredible and very impressive. Everything we needed to know was right there! We used many of her suggestions. Upon our departure she arranged for a car service and had gifts for our children. We were pleasantly surprised to have such a fantastic host. When we left we felt as though we made a new friend. Catherine warned us that the hot water heater was small, so we had our kids shower at night and the adults showered in the morning; we were fine and never ran out of hot water.* The beds were fine and we slept well. Even though there wasn't any air conditioning, we were okay with the open windows and fans (but the weather wasn't hot while we were there). We did use the washer and dryer. It worked well, but be aware that the dryer beeps until you turn it off, so you can't leave a load in the dryer while you sleep or away. Also, the dryer takes a very long time, so plan to be there for awhile waiting for the clothes to dry. It's best to do very small loads. There is no elevator and it's 4 American levels up winding stairs; no problem for us (except for bringing our heavy luggage up and down), but older people or those with knee problems should be aware. ** We were a family of four and while it worked for us (and we would stay there again!), my family is used to tight spaces, so we were okay. And we have older kids, ages 9 and 16, so they didn't require space to play or romp. Also, there is an antique chair and antique globes that were fragile. This may not be the best location for families with younger children. I wouldn't disqualify those families, but perhaps have a candid discussion with them about the "activity level" of their children. My kids would have been fine even if they were younger because they didn't have lots of physical energy, but some kids are more "active" than others--the parents should be honest about that. It's a small space, but Catherine uses storage well. My family over-packed, but if we hadn't we would have been able to unpack our suitcases. As it was, we were fine putting all the kids' clothes in the closets and keeping our clothes in the suitcases in the bedroom. Perhaps some under the bed storage would be a good idea? Other than that, I wouldn't change a thing about the apartment. The building was very quiet and we felt safe and secure. The location couldn’t have been better; we were near 2 metro stations, several bus lines and a few blocks walk to the Seine river. Best of all was the wealth of cafes, restaurants and shops right outside our door. It’s always tricky renting an apartment online, but we couldn’t have been more pleased. We made ourselves at home and felt very French. * HiP Note: We have noted on the property page that the hot water heater in this apartment is quite small. One tank is sufficient for one regular shower or two short showers. After that, the tank will need to reheat for more hot water. ** HiP Note: We have noted on the property page that it is situated up three flights of stairs. Indeed, this flat would not be best suited for people with trouble climbing stairs. Why HiP? I honestly forgot how I got to Haven in Paris, but I logged many hours researching apartments online and it was not fun. When I finally found Haven in Paris, I was impressed with the website, prompt responses to my inquiry and many questions and quality of apartments. Once I reserved the apartment, the details about my stay and all the information that I needed was communicated to me in a very detailed and thorough manner--I really appreciated that! We had never been to Paris and never rented an apartment in another country and Haven in Paris did everything to ease my fears. The level of customer service is fantastic and much appreciated. |

There cannot be a better place to roost in all of Paris. Each detail is carefully selected, useful and beautiful. Being here has been like staying in a super chic friend's apartment except you aren't an awkward house guest. Yet, you still enjoy all the comforts of home (and then some!) Luxury linens, beautiful smelling soap, special furniture, decor and accessories. I am so in love with this place and Paris. Thank you Catherine for your expertise, contagious enthusiasm, and good taste. You give an evolved view and experience in Paris that is largely inaccessible to the average visitor. I consider myself, and all who have and will visit, very lucky indeed. |

We could not have asked for a better, first ever, family visit to Paris. This apartment was the absolute perfect place to call home. A few reasons why we will be staying here again and recommending this to our friends. 1. Catherine: Her charm, warmth, and hospitality were magnificent. The care alone that went into the guide book was amazing. It was such a helpful resource. 2. Location: We felt like the Marais was our neighborhood. It literally has everything you need. 3. The apartment was efficient and stylish. We needed the walk-up after eating macarons and bread all day. Love this place. |

My wife and I loved this little apartment. Turned out to be the perfect home base to explore Paris. We loved the location with many shops and restaurants within walking distance. Our host was great and helped us find some perfect places to eat. I will never stay in a hotel in Paris again. If you are looking for a safe clean place to stay as a single or a couple and don't mind a few flights of stairs - this might be the place for you. |

The little apartment by Hotel de ville was just perfect! The location is convenient - just off Rue de Rivoli and close to the lively scene on rue Vieille du Temple - but very quiet at night. The decor reflects the personality and taste of the owner and includes some of her own artwork. Fun, funky, comfortable and cozy, I really loved it and hated to leave! Why HiP? I had a trip scheduled to Paris that I had to rearrange at the last minute due to work obligations. I was scrambling to find an apartment to rent with only a few days' notice and called Haven in Paris after being referred to their blog. I can't speak highly enough of the amazingly friendly and attentive interactions I had with all the folks I spoke with. Incredibly, they were able to cobble together a couple of different apartments to cover the length of my stay. The entire reservation experience was easy, pleasant and enjoyable and the apartment was perfect! Thanks to all! |

I had a wonderful time and I thoroughly enjoyed Catherine's apartment. It was our restful oasis from the excitement of the city. Catherine was an excellent hostess. When we arrived in Paris it was about midnight. My husband and I were both exhausted and a little overwhelmed. The full impact of not being able to speak the language had hit us. Catherine's warm welcome and helpful tips about where to find the post office, ATMs, good restaurants, etc. made us feel right at home and definitely calmed our nerves. The apartment was absolutely lovely and even though we were close to Rue Rivoli which seemed to be a pretty busy street, the apartment was surprisingly quiet and we slept like babies every night. Thank you so much for all your help. This was our first trip to Europe and Haven in Paris, along with Catherine, made it very special. |
