This Space

This charming vacation rental located near the famous Bon Marché in the heart of St. Germain des Prés on the Left Bank in Paris boasts 1 bedroom and 2 bathrooms, in addition to its own private garden (approximately 100m² / 1100ft²).

This lovely spot is the perfect base for exploring all of central Paris on foot. Weather permitting, you can dine and relax in your private garden, a true haven of tranquility after a day of sightseeing in central Paris.

This vacation apartment is on the ground floor of a 17th century Parisian building and retains its original stone walls and wooden beams. Quiet, cozy, and attractively furnished, the apartment was decorated with care by its Italian owner with a mix of antiques, modern appliances and comfortable couches and chairs. The charming main room has a sofa that makes a comfortable double bed. There is dining area in the same room with a table and four chairs, cable TV (including CNN/BBC) and a radio/CD player. The small but well equipped kitchen has a microwave oven, coffee maker, refrigerator, burners, toaster, all utensils and dishes, and a washing machine and separate dryer. There is a full bath with toilet, sink, tub and wall mounted shower off of the main room.

The flat has two full bathrooms; one with a tub, American shower, toilet & sink, the other with a walk in shower, sink & toilet.

From the main room, French doors open onto a large terrace with garden furniture, and, of course, the private garden. Across the garden (which can only be accessed through the apartment and is very safe and private) is a separate bedroom with a queen bed, and the second bathroom with a toilet, sink and walk-in shower.

This original arrangement is perfect for two couples, families or friends traveling together. Please be aware that you do need to go outside and through the garden to get to the separate bedroom.

There are three metro stations (Sèvres Babylone, Saint Germain des Prés, and Saint-Sulpice) and numerous bus lines are all within a two block radius of your Paris vacation rental. The renowned department store Bon Marché, two supermarkets, specialty shops and open air markets (Paris' first organic food and produce market on Bd. Raspail every Sunday morning) are steps from your flat.

Jon March, 2012 Dallas, TX USA

We loved the Bon Marche apartment. It is very comfortable, and extremely convenient to the Metro, and within walking distance to great cafes and shopping. My wife and I brought our 18 year old son as a graduation gift over spring break. We had plenty of room, and found it very comfortable. We had some reservations about the apartment across the garden feeling separated from the main apartment, but it was fine, we felt secure, and it gave us a nice "getaway" spot from the teenager when needed! Bathrooms are great, the back apartment bathroom is normal sized by European standards, and the main apartment's bathroom is huge. The apartment is small enough to feel cozy, but big enough not to feel cramped. Our greater Jeanne did a great job, she picked up some bread and meat and cheese for us prior to our arrival, and gave us a very thorough tour of the apartment. When we had a challenge with the dishwasher (our issue not a maintenance issue) she called back quickly, and figured out the problem, and had us up and running in no time. She had great suggestions on nearby markets and best times for museums, she was just outstanding. The apartment is so centrally located as to be ridiculously convenient. It's three metro stops from Notre Dame, short walking distance to Boulevard de St. Germain-with famous cafes and shopping. There are two Metro stops within 200 yards, allowing you to easily get on any line you need within a stop or two. There is a Franprix grocery right around the corner, and Monoprix (larger grocery) just a little farther. We used a HIP recommended driver, David, He's on the website, and he was great. Trustworthy, helpful, very comfortable mercedes sedan, and it was slightly more than what a cab would have cost us, and 20 times more comfortable. He helped us with our bags, and pointed out some sites on the drive in. He was great! We have rented vacation houses many times in the US, and had never tried it in Europe before--and were a little apprehensive to be honest. We found HIP to be outstanding in their customer service-every bit as professional and helpful as any stateside home rental service we've used (and we've used most of them at some point), and better than most. I love that they are based in the US, but have local representation in Paris. I can't say enough good things about this apartment, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, private hideaway in the best part of the left bank.

First off...our vacation was wonderful, everything we needed it to be! The apartment was truly a haven for us after the business of Paris. The location was perfect as well-we even discovered an English speaking church around the corner (perhaps that could be included in your apartment information). The greeter, Jeanne, was very prompt and very thorough in explaining everything. As we used to live in Paris, we were familiar with most operations in the apartment and did not experience any difficulty. The apartment was VERY clean. The kitchen functioned well for us, we cooked several meals with no problem. We did laundry as well. In other words, it was easy to make ourselves at home in this apartment! The only "improvement" needed is to have more comfortable furniture, chairs specifically...my husband has a bad back and after the travel and all the walking everyday he had difficulty finding a good sitting space. I, on the other hand, was fine.

We really like this apartment, this having been our third visit. What could be better than having your morning coffee and croissant in the garden, or ending the day there with a glass of wine. The location is perfect. We like being on the ground floor and of course the garden is truly a bonus. I think that our experience as visitors who come to Paris annually and stay for a month or more is probably different from a more casual visitor given that we probably spend much more time in the apartment, and do more cooking. Jeanne was very welcoming. There was fruit, flowers and a lovely bottle of wine waiting for us. She brought us a French press for coffee and was very responsive when the toilet seat needed to be repaired. We truly appreciate that the essential housekeeping items (cleaning, dish washing, laundry soap, plastic wrap, paper towels etc.) were in abundant supply. Not to mention coffee, filters and water to get us started. Haven in Paris provides the kind of customer service and attention to detail that keeps us coming back year after year.

Amazing retreat in a beautiful quarter! Merci!

We had a very very good stay at the Bon Marché apartment in Paris. The location was perfect. Jeanne, our greeter, was very helpful, though we didn't need her. While I found the apartment a bit dark, it was very quiet and we had all we needed. I like your book of appliance manuals and the map book of Paris. Cleaning was very good, no complaints. Having WIFI was very important for me as we used it for all sorts of things. It was raining on my birthday, we had to get to a dinner far away and we used the TAXI service listed (in the guidebook) at the last minute. They spoke English and were on time: a life saver. I hope we'll use HIP again. Thanks for everything.

Jackie Miller May, 2011 Los Osos

Only love "our "apt. more each time we are there. I have lost track of number of stays but each time is coming home. Jeanne is always so helpful in anything we need and gives such a warm greeting upon arrival. This trip I was traveling with two friends so we used all the beds and still had plenty of room. It is so quiet and the peaceful setting is so appreciated at the end of the day or a place just to stay in for the day. Thanks to all at haven in Paris. From the first contact to the time we leave (which is always hard) the service couldn't be better. See you soon! Jackie

John M. May, 2011 Brookline, MASS USA

Jeanne was a fine greeter. Again, very helpful, sunny attitude, made us feel at home. The apartment itself was as represented and lovely. We were allowed to hold over a few hours in the apartment on departure, since our flight was late afternoon. Very helpful. We would definitely use HIP again, and hope to do so.

Patricia N. May, 2011 Boston, MA USA

We very much enjoyed our stay in the Bon Marché apartment. Jeanne, our greeter, was very professional and helpful, and Sasha, the concierge, made all the arrangements we asked. The accommodations were lovely, particularly the courtyard area. The neighborhood is lively and eminently walkable, and the location of the property makes all of Paris easily accessible. We would certainly use Haven in Paris again.

Lisa and David S May, 2011 Newport/RI/USA

Let me begin by saying I have been to Paris a number of times but no holiday there has come even close to the memorable one Lisa and I had at the Bon Marché apartment. Thanks to your team our dreams were exceeded. Your excellent communication throughout the planning process and attention to detail was of the highest quality and a key for a truly relaxing and enjoyable time. Everything went so well in the planning and travel that we were prepared to be disappointed in the apartment and once again our exceedingly high expectations were met. The apartment was all we had hoped for. Exceeded only by the location which was exactly where I had hoped we would be. The driver Mark from David's Luxe taxi was a joy and there when we arrived and promptly on time for our return. It was money well spent for superb service. Unquestionably we would use your services again in the future.

John Marzullo April, 2011 Hinckley, Ohio USA

Would I recommend the property and HIP to others? I already have. It's nice dealing with an organization that treats people the way I did when I was in business. From the moment that we walked in and met our greeter, it felt like we were "home again". We definitely had a great stay and were very pleased with the property and Jeanne was very helpful. She even arranged the taxi for our return flight. She called when the gardener was coming over. We liked having the tour books available and also the notebook with valuable tips about the area. The flat was clean. Another nice touch besides the flowers and wine, was having the coffee and condiments for us. The small things add a lot for convenience and allows you to just enjoy your trip and not run around to get things like this. We loved having a computer and telephone service to the states as part of the package. With my broken ankle this trip, having a flat right in the city made this trip as enjoyable as possible. It gave me the opportunity to enjoy the city but time to just sit in the flat to relax. It was truly a "turn key" experience. I had to contact our greeter twice during our stay, she was readily accessible and answered my questions immediately. This has put a new option into my future travel plans. Thank you.

Devon April, 2011 San Francisco, CA

We had the most fantastic vacation ever! The rental process was easy and fast. The staff is attentive and very, very helpful! The apartment was great and exceeded my expectations. We were greeted by Jeanne who was very helpful. She had a table of scrumptious goodies ready for us after our long flight from California. I corresponded with her ahead of time to let her know what I wanted before we arrived. She patiently explained how everything worked in the apartment and cheerfully answered our questions (she also kept in touch and was available for all our questions during our stay). While we were there a situation arose where we needed to have the services of a medical doctor. In no time she found us a doctor and made an appointment for us for that same day!! RE the apartment: It was bigger than I had anticipated. The decor was lovely and it was stocked with everything you could want during a vacation. You really only need to show up with your clothes. Everything else is there. The apartment is very close to transportation and services, like markets, metro and loads of great store for shopping. I really think Saint-Germain-des-pres is the best area in Paris!! The location of the apartment makes it a great space because it is very quiet. You would never know that the bustling city of Paris is right outside the front door. The little bedroom in the garden house makes a nice place for privacy, especially if you have more than 2 people staying. We stayed in the garden house for a week and then moved into the main house after our guest had left. The pull out sofa bed was very comfortable as well. Only slight problems were the apartment door opening (we did finally figure it out) Hot water runs out fast and no music in the garden house. Also would be nice to have more English tv channels. We could not watch anything except the repetitive international news stories. Even though we were on vacation we wanted to keep up with US news and maybe watch an English movie or Tv show.

Diana M. February, 2011 Canada

We had a great time in Paris and our stay in the Bon Marché apartment was memorable. You are an easy group to work with and very sensitive to people's needs. Jeanne, our greeter was most welcoming and informative. We tend to be self-sufficient and independent, but we did phone her once to ask a question and she was very helpful. We relied on the book of instructions to guide us in most matters and it never failed us. This is a unique property--it's location alone is a superb selling point and the garden makes it more so. For longer stays, this sure beats a hotel. Thank-you for the experience of a lifetime. Hope to do it again sometime.

Veronica M. January, 2011 Dee Why, Australia

we had a wonderful time in Paris and could find no fault in the apartment. Nadar was also fantastic and could not have been more helpful. We will of course recommend highly your property to anyone we are talking to.

J. Armbruster October, 2010 Chicago, IL USA

We enjoyed everything about the Bon Marché apartment. This is the second time we've stayed there. The apartment is charming, comfortable, lovely furnishings and everything needed in terms of utensils, etc is provided. Jeanne, our greeter, was just wonderful. She called several times to check on us, was helpful with information, ordered our taxi, even sent her son over to help us with the TV channels we weren't able to find. Fatima did an excellent job of cleaning the apartment and was very friendly.

Page Thomas August, 2010 Pittsburgh PA, USA

We would first like to say that we have never had such a magnificent experience staying in Paris. The location, the amenities the greeter were all exemplary. We enjoyed the delightful garden even on the hottest days. The laundry facilities and particularly the hairdryer were a welcome reality addition to our fairy tale stay at the Bon Marché apartment (sometimes its just the little things that make a difference) The charm of the apartment is not fully released in the images. The magnificent garden peeking through the windows as you enter with the ancient wood beamed ceiling emits a radiant charm that is very hard to explain but immediately takes your breath away when first experienced and puts a smile to your face every time. We were able to easily walk to our favorite museums. Coming home to rue de Vieux Colombier was a dream every time. We immediately felt at home and cherished the time we were able to spend at the property. Our greeter Jeanne was kind and extremely helpful and attentive to our needs. She explained clearly and succinctly (we were exhausted when we first met) the apartment and its specifics. Jeanne was brilliant with explaining how to lock and unlock the somewhat unfamiliar european locking mechanisms. We also were happy to have David's Luxury Taxi escort us to and from the airport. Mark, David's brother was a fine conversationalist and made the drive seem effortless. We would come back next week if we could. We were both a bit sad to leave our temporary home in Paris. Thank you for making our engagement a memorable experience.

Dorothy Jeffress August, 2010 Washington DC USA

the Bon Marché apartment is delightful...the "secret garden" provides a welcome respite from the bustle of urban Paris and the salon is very comfortable and tastefully furnished. The location in the 6th is ideal for walking to major tourist sites and finding special spots to treasure--our personal favorite is the Medici Fountain in the close by Luxembourg Gardens. La Grande Epicerie--the gourmet grocery store a few blocks away-- is not be missed! The apartment was spotless...it is such a unique apartment with the little separate sleeping cottage and although there was construction nearby...as we were out all day each day...it was not a bother. I did appreciate the advance notice though as that helped us prepare for a bit of noise...which then turned out to be not so bad. Haven in Paris is highly professional, their guidance and tips are invaluable. We engaged Andy Waters to pick us up from the airport and return us for our departure and he was delightful and most responsive as well. It is always comforting to have someone looking out for your arrival and he was super easy to deal with. Responded also easily and promptly by email too which is such a big help given the time difference. The HIP greeter, Jeanne, was lovely and most gracious..explained everything about the apartment carefully and thoroughly and was most accessible during our stay (we actually did not need to check with her until departing but felt that we could if necessary). All correspondence with HIP from my initial inquiry to this most recent check-in was highly professional and helpful. I was confident from the onset that all would be as expected and was not the least bit disappointed in any way. Staying in a HIP property is the best way to truly have the support of a fine boutique hotel/staff and the comfort and amenities of a lovely apartment. Highly recommended and cannot wait to return some day!

Nancy O. July, 2010 Indiana, USA

Great location! The courtyard was lovely. We enjoyed trekking across the steps t our "Cottage" bedroom every night. Adam was kind and prompt. Overall, a very good experience.

Jane and Bruce Guzowski June, 2010 Marblehead, MA

We were very satisfied with the property we stayed in which was the Bon Marché apartment. We loved the location and our trip to Paris. The apartment was very spacious. It was great to have washer and dryer so that we could travel much lighter than staying in a hotel. The detached bedroom (across the courtyard) took some getting used to but we thought a separate bedroom was fun and very quiet. The only thing that we did not like was the fact that the hot water was shut off during the day. The owner's have the hot water programed to work only at night. One cold shower at 4:00 p.m. after a long day of walking around Paris convinced us to adjust the hot water in the bathroom in the main house so it would be on full time. We recommend that future renters of the apartment ask the greeter how to adjust it. We loved the patio and its surrounding plantings. It was delightful to sit out there and have wine and cheese each evening. We would highly recommend this apartment for a wonderful trip to Paris! NOTE FROM HAVEN IN PARIS: The hot water does work during the day. Please chat with your greeter and she will explain.

Angela Dunlop May, 2010 Sydney

This property was divine and bigger than expected. It would easily accommodate 2 couples, each with their own sleeping, storage and bathroom. The location was spot on and so handy to the metro, Le Bon Marche, and the main areas St Germain. Once inside the apartment we felt sheltered, safe and warm. Everything we needed was available. Would definitely book again if available.

Jackie May, 2010 California

This was our 5th visit to the Bon Marché apartment...so it was as we always expect ~ wonderful. It has become our home away from home. Booking is easy, follow up is great, along with the greeter once in Paris. The only concern is that the apartment will be booked when we want to come back. I now book a year ahead to make sure we get 'our place'. Thanks to the HIP team!

Dan Schobel April, 2010 stamford, ct, USA

The Bon Marché apartment was perfect closely located to the latin quarter, the louvre and the metro and bus lines. The metro line it is on can get you almost everywhere with maybe one transfer. Bring your loaded credit card as the shopping in the neighborhood is upscale and incredible. The only let down was the bed. It was incredibly hard and not comfortable. Small price to pay for the apartment and its location.

Melitta Fleck April, 2010 La Jolla, CA

We made it to Paris!! I was on the first American Airlines flight to Paris after the volcanic shut down. We saw absolutely no trace of the volcanic activity during the time we were there. In fact, we enjoyed clear blue skies almost every day. The Bon Marché apartment was perfect for us. Jeanne was very nice and she was thorough in reviewing all information relevant to use of the apartment. The front door can be tricky (intentionally I understand - for security reasons) but we were very proud of the fact that we mastered it! The garden and patio area were a wonderful respite from the busy streets of Paris. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again soon. In the meantime, I want to thank the Haven In Paris team for being so responsive to our every question. I will highly recommend you (and the Vieux Colombier apartment) to my friends. Many thanks. A bientot.

James March, 2010 Charlottesville, VA, USA

We are back from our trip abroad, including our stay of a week at your Bon Marché apartment We found it a delightful place to stay. Our greeter, Jeanne, was a pleasure to deal with and she fully informed us as to all important information. The apartment, with its access to the private garden, is certainly a pleasure. It is well furnished and quite comfortable. The telephone, television, and internet connections all worked very well and were very welcome. If there is any weakness in the apartment, we believe it is the kitchen, which is quite small and quite drab. While the size would be difficult to change, the kitchen would surely benefit from the installation of new, smooth countertops and cabinets -- this could give it a much more sleek and modern appearance. That aside, Vieux Colombier is a very pleasant place to stay in Paris.

Jacqueline Schwarz February, 2010 Boulder, Colorado USA

We just got back home after a magnificent stay at the Bon Marché apartment. The apartment was just as shown and even better, as it was quiet though centrally located, great beds and pillows, conveniently placed a house down from a delicatessen, close enough to walk to many of our favorite places and easily accessible to everything by bus as well as Metro. Ideal! We really hope we get a chance to go back--would change nothing about the facility, or about the taxi--we worked with Andy Waters who met us promptly, and turned what could have been a problematic change in our return flight (it was cancelled because of snow in DC and we were at the last minute re-booked on a flight which meant leaving the flat at 6:30 AM) into a pleasurable experience. We didn't have any reason to call on Jeanne (our greeter) during our stay, but she was there when we arrived, and we were able to enter the apartment a few hours early thanks to the graciousness of the owner who was there before us. Jeanne welcomed us with roses which lasted the whole week, and wine, and helped orient us to the place and the neighborhood. Paris was cold, but the apartment was delightfully warm and welcoming. Wished we had more free time to just sit and snuggle and read indoors--in the warmer months, the garden will be even more delightful when one can actually sit and enjoy it. If there is one tiny concern, it is that the locks seem a bit idiosyncratic--especially the one to get into the flat itself. Getting one that didn't involve pulling the door forward just so would have been a relief, though we eventually got in every time. This was my 5th trip to Paris, and certainly by far the best lodging--it was my husband's first, and we both hope to be able to use Haven's resources in the future. Thanks to everyone! By the way, this is the first time I have booked an apartment rather than a hotel room using the Internet, and I was anxious initially about what sort of mess could happen--and absolutely none did. The photos were absolutely accurate--made it feel like we were coming to a very familiar place which is a good place to base from. The guidebooks and CD choices were an extra bonus...

Sylvia G. January, 2010 Florida U.S.A.

The apartment was cozy and charming and the location was the best! The people who greeted us, Didier and Victoria, were great. I said that there was not enough light in the living room by the second couch for reading, so Didier went home and brought back a lamp from his apartment. He replaced what needed to be fixed on the TV and he helped us tune in to WiFi on our computer. Without knowing where to find the codes and login info, we were lost. Jeanne was extremely helpful also and all our little requests were taken care of right away. And Fatima did an excellent job cleaning. You do have a great team in Paris and it is obvious they want to do their best to make everything run smoothly. We hope to come back to this apartment on our next visit!!! Many thanks. You run a first class rental agency.

Christina and Paul D.B. October, 2009 New York, NY

We are back in NYC and it already seems like months ago that we were strolling on the streets in Paris. Yes, we had a wonderful stay at the apartment and would have loved to stay again on our return in May, but unfortunately the dates were booked!!! Will try again in 2011! Jeanne was terrific and couldn't have been nicer. She made herself available when we needed her, was able to facilitate an appointment with a dentist for my husband and when I asked about buying something for the kitchen she told me to pick out what I needed and she would pay me back--it doesn't get any easier then that! Fatima the house keeper was pleasant and flexible and happy to accommodate our needs when we had an overnight guest. On the whole, I think that you and every one made an effort for us to have a worry free time in Paris. We appreciate that you provide the basics and there are no underlying hidden charges.

jan cady September, 2009 Pasadena/Calif/USA

My friend and I were so happy with our choice of the Bon Marché apartment as the perfect home away from home. The location could not be better, being central to all the St Germain area and beyond [with the handy St Sulpice Metro 20 yards away, you could get virtually anywhere easily], but on a very quiet street surrounded by all the main up-scale boutiques in the city, just far enough away from the tourists to feel you were getting a true Paris experience. But walking distance to everything. The place itself is very unique, with a separate sleeping cottage across a quiet private garden, and it made it possible for each of us to have our own area; my friend in the cottage, and me in the main house. Beds were very comfortable. I used the suede sofa bed, and kept it down all the time, since there was a nice seating area across the way, but it easily folded up if you had company, which we did. We even manufactured a lovely dinner in the garden from delicacies purchased at the Grand Epicerie a few blocks away one night when we grew tired of too much gourmet dining [We even went to Joel Robuchon's Atelier twice for lunch, our big splurge, and worth it!]. When I arrived, Jeanne (our greeter) was waiting, and gave me a thorough tour, and was available by phone for the few questions we had later, even getting someone out immediately when we had no hot water in the cottage, [a minor problem, just a switch needed turning.] Everything was spotless, and there were supplies for any need. I would heartily recommend our wonderful little flat to anyone, but especially to those who want the uniqueness of a ground floor property with its own private yard in a perfect location. There are not many like it in all of Paris.

Frances R. September, 2009 Los Angeles, CA, USA

Jan Cady and I rented this apt. in Sept. and we loved it. It's beautifully furnished and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. It's in my favorite area and was so convenient. I can't wait to go back. I'd better stop telling friends about it or there won't be any available times. Any problems were quickly taken care of and the HIP team was terrific. Thanks for a lovely week.

Helene and Amanda June, 2009 Hollywood, CA, U.S.A.

We are having a wonderful time in Paris. Our apartment is delightful and more than we could have hoped for. The pictures on your website actually match what the apartment looks like in person (a rare thing indeed). Our only regret is that our trip is ending so soon. Time flies at the Bon Marché apartment. Our greeter has been a great help and we appreciate the care and attention to detail. We're already planning our return.

Amy June, 2009 USA

We had a wonderful time in Paris and would stay at the apartment again in a heartbeat! The location was amazing! Thanks for everything.

Dr Benjamin and Susan Krevsky May, 2009 Philadelphia

The location of this apartment is just wonderful. Poilane is literally around the corner. Just a few blocks away are Pierre Herme and Gerard Mulot. Needless to say we had the best petit dejeuner each day in the apartment. The masterbedroom was very quiet and it was lovely having the garden all to ourselves. The apartment was very clean and well maintained. One of the best things about Paris is just walking around. We could walk to the most lovely cafes and restaurants (Joesephine Chez Dumonet is fabulous and maybe five blocks away), as well to the Louvre, Luxembourg Gardens, and Notre Dame. We loved it!

Jackie and Richard May, 2009 California

Love the Bon Marché apartment ...it is our 3rd time staying there and wish it was always available when we go to Paris! Our greeter Jeanne was great with giving us all the information we needed to a wonderful week in Paris. Thanks to the whole HIP team.

Haven in Paris is a first-class organization. the Bon Marché apartment rental is lovely, charming, and located in such a desirable area of Paris. As a tourist I felt quite welcomed by the locals. I look forward to staying there again!

We had a wonderful stay in Paris!! The Bon Marché apartment was lovely!! The greeter was quite nice and she had the apartment filled with flowers, food, and drink!--thank you!--and Andy was delightful!--I would recommend you guys and Andy to anyone!--in fact I would like to stay there again within the year, possibly this fall/winter.

Everything about this rental was first rate. I had some questions about the bedding before we booked, and the HIP staff personally visited the apartment that night to confirm everything before we decided upon the apartment. When we arrived after a long red-eye flight, charming Jeanne was waiting at the apartment with water, milk, fresh flowers and a bottle of wine. She showed us how all the appliances worked, recommended a couple of local shops and restaurants, and made sure we had her number if we needed any assistance while in Paris. As for the apartment, the lovely pictures do not do it justice. It is like staying in a friend's fully-furnished apartment, with plenty of clean towels and linens, a fully-stocked kitchen, and a bookshelf full of Paris guides, art books and classical music CD's. It's technically a one bedroom apartment, but the bedroom is in a detached room across a patio and garden, so there is more space and privacy than in most one bedrooms, and in the main room there are two queen size sofa beds. Our family of four, with two teens, was very comfortable. We didn't spend much time in the apartment each day, but when we did, it was like coming home. A laptop with a full-time internet connection kept us up-to-date with news back home, and the small tv with a handful of english-channel stations was helpful. The location was the best part, it's close to everything without being overrun with tourists. You are a block from the St. Sulpice metro station, a short walk to St. Germain blvd and its legendary cafes and restuarants, and in another direction Montparnasse and its classic bistros and cafes are a manageable walk or a quick hop on the metro. Notre Dame, the Musee D'Orsay, and Saint Chappelle are all walking distance. The best bread in Paris (just ask the Barefoot Contessa) is around the corner, and shops of every type are within a block of your front door. You can even find a LaDurree tea salon on Rue Bonaporte, a few minutes walk from the apartment. For the price of a cramped Paris hotel room, rent this apartment, you won't be disappointed. I wish I was going back next week.

David Blum March, 2009 New York NY

The apartment was beautiful! Just right for our family of four. Everything we needed was provided, and in tasteful, comfortable fashion. The woman who greeted us made sure everything was working and was quite helpful. The location was perfect -- within walking distance to most of central Paris, or a short subway ride. We had a wonderful week and would happily repeat the experience in the same apartment.

The apartment was in a great location, right in the heart of St Germain and close to everything; the best bread shops, amazing cafes and the Metro. The HIP liaison met us in the apartment and took the time to show us around the apartment and even took us around the neighborhood to get us acclimated to the area, which really helped us get our bearings. She was available by phone any time of the night or day. The apartment was charming, very quiet and good for 2 people.I highly recommend the apartment experience and Haven in Paris.

Gail and Lou Lannum October, 2008 Cleveland, Ohio, USA

This apartment is in a wonderful location. Surrounded by shops, bakeries, restaurants and close to 2 Metro stops. Many of the major sites are within walking distance. The apartment is very charming and quiet. With the private garden, it's the perfect place to come back to after a long day touring the city. Jeanne, our greeter, showed us all the workings of the apartment and walked us around the neighborhood so we could get oriented. She also arranged for a taxi to take us back to the airport. Booking the apartment was easy and the staff was very helpful. I would definitely use HIP again and recommend them to friends and family. Renting an apartment was so much nicer than staying in a hotel room.

We have been renting apartments in Paris for over 5 years now and we want you to know that dealing with you has been the most positive experience all round that we have had. That's not to say that we didn't like former apartments, but overall, the hassle free, all inclusive price was nice. It was great to find toilet paper, salt and pepper and the basics and not have to start from scratch. It was great to have adequate utensils and cooking gadgets to make an entire meal even though the kitchen was the smallest I've worked in. And it was great to be able to call home without always thinking about a calling card. So for all those things, THANKS! We liked staying at the apartment, knew the neighbourhood, but enjoyed exploring a few out of the way spots we'd never seen before. Thanks for the opportunity. We'll be in touch again soon.

We did not find the facilities lacking in any way. It was perfect for us and we soon felt very much at home. The location was marvelous. The two Metro stops close by was a plus although it was an easy stroll to Notre Dame, the Louvre, Sainte-Chapelle and the Musee d'Orsay. Their was also a plethora of cafes, bistros and restaurants within minutes of our door. This was our first time in Paris and we were a little apprehensive about not staying in a hotel that provided a comfort level for non French speakers. Our fears were soon allayed. The Parisians were friendly and tolerant of our "fractured French". It seems a smile and an attempt go a long way. St. Germain des Pres was very soon our neighborhood. Jeanne greeted us upon arrival and was very helpful. Even helping us tote in the luggage. She explained where everything was and how everything worked. She was thorough enough that we never had a problem although she made us feel that we could call her anytime. Jeanne also returned for our departure and even arranged for a taxi to take us to our next destination. Aside from being helpful, she was most delightful and we enjoyed meeting her. We would definitely stay here again and will recommend your website to our friends.

The apartment was lovely. It was larger than we expected and thoroughly equipped. The beds were not as comfortable as we had hoped but were ok. We LOVED the patio and used it often. Couldn't believe how quiet the whole apartment was! We didn't have the regular greeter - Jeanne. Out greeter did not know a lot about the apartment and was unable to answer many questions. We figured out everything except the clothes dryer. We met Jeanne on our checkout and she was very nice and disappointed that we did not call her. We had a very difficult time making phone calls as well. The booking process and attention to detail was wonderful. You have a first class organization and I would definitely use your service again!

I booked your Bon Marché apartment for my son and his family. They were very happy with the apartment and the friendly assistance from your welcoming team. They particularly liked the convenience of the area, the ground floor position - and of course, the marvellous courtyard garden, where they had many meals in full relaxation and quiet. The large bathroom and laundry facilities were marvellous for a family. The boys spent every afternoon at the Luxembourg Gardens childrens play area where they met other tourist and local children. The family also enjoyed the local inexpensive and family-friendly restaurants. We would recommend your apartment to anyone. Thank you too for your assistance and advice with bookings etc.

What a wonderful time we had in Paris. We absolutely loved the apartment. For me it was such a relief to see that it was impeccably clean upon our arrival. (Not the case with our first week rental in Normandy.) Jeanne was there when we arrived and was helpful in reviewing the ins and outs of the apartment and showed us to the local grocery stores etc. I feel fortunate that I found your website over the Internet. Staying in the apartment was a very relaxing way to see Paris. I will definitely recommend your agency to any friends and family who will be visiting Paris.

My sister and I had an absolutely positive experience with HIP from beginning to end. Every email inquiry was answered promptly and thoroughly, the contract covered everything we needed to know and the payment system was easy to use. The apartment was so beautiful--truly a "Haven in Paris", and the photos did do it justice--we got what we were expecting. Our greeter, Jeanne, was very helpful and pleasant. We will definitely use HIP again, and recommend it to others traveling to France. We are considering Tuscany for a future trip, so you will definitely hear from us then. Thanks for everything ladies--you've got a great business going...

Thanks to each of you for making our experience unforgettable! We were so worried about renting an apartment abroad and Haven in Paris quickly but our minds at ease. Your professionalism and prompt attention to making sure that everything went smoothly was greatly appreciated. I cannot express how wonderful Jeanne (our greeter) and Kyra (our concierge) were. We will never forget our market experience with Kyra -- don't ever loose her! The entire experience from start to finish was impeccable! The apartment is in such a wonderful location and provided a serene haven for relaxing while experiencing Paris. We are looking at our calenders now to plan the next trip so hopefully we will be in touch soon. Thanks to all of the staff for making our week in Paris memorable!

It would be hard to briefly describe our experience at the Bon Marché apartment in Paris. From the moment we stepped through the door I knew we had made a good choice. The pictures did not justify the spacious atmosphere. Ten foot beamed ceilings and 2 sets of French doors that gave a beautiful view of the gardens (40 feet long). While accommodating enough to sleep 5 there were only two of us. So we each had our own space and a full bath in both. Bookcases full of maps, museums, transit info, novels etc. We had a small but very well equipped kitchen, washer and dryer and it was all on the first floor in the heart of St. Germain. Our greeter Jeanne met us at the apartment with wine and flowers and a wealth of information. It also had complimentary internet and calls to the USA. It truly was a haven in Paris. And two days before we left when I came down with tendonitis in one knee Jeanne had a doctor to help me within the hour. We will definitely come back and have told numerous friends about our experience. Our only regret was that our week seemed to have flown by too quickly. From my first visit to the site until we walked out the door everything was very efficient and well thought out. Kudos to the Haven in Paris staff. We shall return. Pat Cochran and Deb McNulty

We have returned home and have very fond memories of last week. The apartment was wonderful. We loved the location and the open courtyard. The interior design and furnishings were very nice and among the most tasteful of any place we have stayed. We look forward to our stay on rue de Clery.

I really enjoyed it - and greeter was excellent. Appreciated flowers and wine as well, nice touch.

We loved this place, and would happily stay forever. (in fact they are coming back for 7 weeks in 2008! - HIP)

George Foote May, 2007 Auckland, New Zealand

The apartment is excellent, being unusually sizeable, with the courtyard and the garden cottage being extra bonuses. The location is superb. Carrie was very attentive to our needs (which were few!). We would certainly book the apartment again if we are lucky enough to revisit Paris one day.

I have just returned from spending the entire month of April 2007 in the Bon Marché apartmentand it is a gem! The large studio has been significantly upgraded with new lighting and furniture and it has everything one could ever need, in terms of very high quality bed and table linens, a snug but very efficient kitchen, comfortable garden furniture and even a superb sewing kit! The best thing, of course, is the garden, which is almost always shady and cool and adds another large living space to the property. Also, the guest cottage, while small, provides wonderful privacy and comfort to one's guests. The location is about the best I have ever found, and I have rented apartments in various arrondissements. I recommend this apartment with no reservations whatsoever. The staff is excellent and highly responsive. I very much hope to return.

This was our third trip to Paris and the best yet. Thank you Haven in Paris for helping us find the most sparkling clean apartment in Paris, sending Anne to greet us and making this trip so enjoyable. We look forward to visiting the Bon Marché apartment again soon!

Mary Decker December, 2006 San Francisco, California USA

We had a fabulous time in Paris. The apartment was enchanting and the separate bedroom with bath met our needs perfectly. And what a rarity, a lovely little garden in the middle of Paris! The apartment was quiet yet so centrally located. What an absolute joy to find world famous baker, Poilane, right around the corner. I went out on more than one occasion in my jammies to get their melt in your mouth croissants. Was also pleased to find my two favorite Parisian jewelry stores, Metal Pointus and Babylone, right outside my door. In fact, the neighborhood is filled with excellent shopping and dining. The Bonne Marche and open markets in one direction and the Monoprix in the other. Metro stop very convenient. Really, an excellent location. We were handled very professionally by the staff. Nancy, our greeter, was great, and everything went very very well. The apartment was clean, warm and welcoming. Planning on renting again when I bring my teenagers to Paris next year

Randall Warniers March, 2005 Acton, Ma. USA

A quiet place in a wonderful neighborhood! This ground-floor apartment is very appealing, with a spacious living room and a small but well-appointed kitchen. The living room has floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook a lovely private garden. In an unusual but charming configuration, the bedroom is on the other side of the garden from the living room. You have to walk through the garden to go to and from the bedroom, which can be a little inconvenient if the weather is cold or rainy, or if you want a middle-of-the-night snack. But what's a little inconvenience when you are walking in a Paris garden at midnight! It didn't bother me at all. The apartment is ideal for two people but can hold as many as five, since the living room has a comfortable full-size sleep sofa and a single sofa-bed and there are two bathrooms. In a city that can be maddeningly noisy, this apartment is set back from the street and is extremely quiet. You don't get a charming street view from your window, as you do in many Paris hotels, but the trade-off in blissfully quiet nights is worth it. The neighborhood is delightful. You are close to the famous cafés and restaurants on Boulevard St. Germain and you are a short walk away from the Latin Quarter, the Musée d'Orsay, and the Ile de la Cité. The many markets on the lovely Rue de Seine are also a few minutes walk away. A Metro stop (St. Sulpice) at the end of the block will take you wherever else you want to go in Paris. Around the corner on Rue de Sèvres is the Bon Marché department store, the fabulous La Grande Epicerie supermarket, and a Maison de Chocolat boutique where you will happily exchange your euros for the best chocolate you'll ever taste in your lifetime.

Tony Rawlings October, 2004 Cairo, Egypt

This is a lovely place - quiet, safe and well-located. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider staying there again.

Dean Evanston July, 2004 St Kitts & Nevis, West Indies

Great, Great, Great...... if you are interesting in an apartment (quite comfortable) in the heart of Paris this is one for you. Most of the major sites are within walking distance and a supermarket and postoffice are just around the corner. I will definitely stay at this apartment again.

Linda & Marjorie May, 2000 USA

We had an absolutely wonderful time in the Bon Marché apartment apartment. The apartment was just perfect and now we can't imagine staying anywhere else!

Richard & Jackie Miller May, 2000 California, USA

I would like to recommend the Bon Marché apartment to anyone who wants a wonderful stay in Paris. It is very comfortable, private and quiet with its lovely garden. The separate bedroom and bathroom would be a big bonus with 4-5 persons. Even the pull out sofa was very comfortable. When we arrived Francoise was so helpful showing us the details of the apartment and recommendations of the neighborhood. My only hesitation in recommending the apartment is it may be booked when we want to use it again! Thank you for such a comfortable home away from home for ourweek in Paris. We have rented several other apartments in Paris and this is the best yet. Erica and Francoise do a wonderful job from the ease of the booking process to being on call if you need them while in Paris. Can't wait to be back again!

Kevin Daviscourt May, 2000 Leavenworth, Washington USA

Both my daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bon Marché apartment in Paris. It was everything we read about and were very happy with the amenities and location. We were able to enjoy many of the restaurants in the area as well as the great food shops that are nearby. It was also very convenient to the Metro as we spent many days riding it from place to place. I would recommend this apartment to anyone who would enjoy the ambiance of local living in a location that would be arguably the best in Paris. If I have a chance to visit for another week in Paris, I would look forward to staying in the same apartment. Thank you for all of the care and pride you show in your property as it really made us feel at home in an otherwise very imposing city.
