We had a great experience with Haven in Paris - very professional! My husband & I loved the Artist Penthouse! It was perfectly located in St. Germain des Pres and we were able to walk everywhere (even with 8 & 10 year old boys)! Our greeter Didier was very friendly and helpful. The apartment has lots of light and the views of the Basilique du Sacre Coeur & the top of the Tour Eiffel were extra special! My boys found the apartment to be "ancient," but that is what gave it so much character to me...I loved the uneven tile floor, the art & antiques and especially the beautiful iron bathtub! If you don't mind climbing five flights up a narrow staircase, the apartment will make you feel like you are truly living in Paris! Why HiP? Easy to use website with beautiful photos! Also, the response time was very quick when we had questions...very professional! I also found your website very helpful when planning our activities in Paris... taxi drivers, photographer, hipblog. |

The greeter, Didier, was prompt and helpful both upon arrival and check out. He assisted us with all the questions we had. The apartment itself was wonderfully funky. Clearly, it was put together as a labor of love as opposed to a standard, neutral place meeting the lowest common denominator. This apartment had a wonderful and quirky point of view whether it was the layout, the furnishings or the artwork. Be prepared to scale some steps...but you will be rewarded. The location right in the heart of the 6th was fantastic for all the activity so close by, yet somehow also phenomenally quiet. A few minor critiques: 1) The washer/dryer in the kitchen is quite finicky and difficult to operate. Could benefit from having a new machine; and 2) the door covering the washer dryer does not close properly, leaving it to swing open and making an already narrow passageway in the kitchen that much narrower (responsible for a few middle-of-the-night bruised knees). Overall a great spot that I would heartily recommend to others who are looking for a place that is a little bit different and who can revel in a place's quirks. NOTE from HIP: We will ensure the washer and dryer are working properly. Unfortunatley, machines in France in general do not work as efficiently or as fast as those we are used to in North America. |

Haven in Paris was helpful to me when selecting an apartment. We LOVED our charming apt in the perfect neighborhood! This was the first time we rented an apartment instead of staying at a hotel and I am hooked. The decorative touches and authentic french architecture were so appealing. I am a total clean freak and this apartment was spotless. No cringing in the bathrooms or anything! Didier, our greeter, was helpful and very pleasant. We used Gregory for our return taxi to the airport and we are thrilled to have found him as well. We will be using him for all of our airport transfers and tours from now on. He was so helpful and thoughtful about even the smallest details. |

This flat is beautiful, with some wonderful touches like a huge tin tub and sink, the real silver silverware, the marble kitchen sink, and the small piano on the top floor. The details are artistic and thought-out: Nothing generic about this place! The other big draw is the neighborhood, which is upscale & also intereresting, with many great restaurants and boutiques. And just a short-ish walk to the Louvre. If you don't mind the five-story walk-up, and like the Bohemian appeal, this is great place to stay in Paris. Also, Didier who greeted us is very helpful and enthusiastic, and the same goes for David the driver, who picked us up at the airport (you can find information on his car service on this site). Haven in Paris is very professionally run, and we would certainly use this service again! |
