< Back to Montmartre 1 Bedroom — Abbesses
Here is what some of our clients have to say about Haven in Paris & their stay in:
Abbesses
Once again, we had a wonderful stay at the Abbesses apartment! Evelyne (our greeter) was great - so friendly and informative. When we checked out, Wendy helped us and we gave her a couple of minor suggestions for the apartment. We just loved it and hope to be there again next year. Thank you. |

The Abbesses property was wonderful and Evelyne (our greeter) was fantastic. Evelyne not only showed us the ins and outs of the apartment, but she took us on a tour of the neighborhood and introduced us to her favourite merchants and helped me to buy some new reading glasses. She also gave us some lovely suggestions for places to go and we were really happy that we followed her suggestions (Saint Chapelle, Jardins des Plantes). We could not have had a better introduction to the neighborhood. We loved the neighborhood. It has a really vibrant atmosphere and lots of great shops and restaurants. The fresh apple juice and farm fresh milk at the cheese shop Evelyne showed us were to die for and the picolo baguette at Cocoliquot is a must. It was fantastic having the metro right across the street. Given how busy the nightlife can be, we were very pleasantly surprised with how quiet the apartment was at night with the double glazed windows closed. No street noise at all. We are keen cooks and were pleased with the well-equipped kitchen and the laundry facilities were very convenient. Keep in mind that almost everything in the neighborhood seems to close on Monday, so plan ahead. But the Greek traiteur up the street was open on Monday and we were able to purchase a beautiful, ready-made Greek meal to take home. We highly recommend that you try it if you like Greek food. All in all, we were very pleased with the apartment, as well as with all the extremely responsive Havens in Paris staff. |

I loved your property! Evelyne (the greeter) was great. She was very helpful and friendly. We actually went to dinner one evening, since I was in Paris alone. Thanks for providing a comfortable "haven" for my week in Paris! Your flat is certainly a gem. |

Hi all, It was our second stay in the area in the last eighteen months and we loved the appartment. The views are stunning- Eiffel Tower and the city one side and Place de Abbesses on the other with it's busy street life, cafes and buskers! Montmartre- where artists work away in their studios, where you can walk two minutes up the hill to get your fresh baguettes, where one of your nearest mini-marts is the grocers from the film "Amelie". Only five minutes walk to "Amelie's" café where we had lunch. A choice of over fifty cafes, bars and restaurants within walking distance. All in all another great stay in Paris. Why HiP? Just loved the look of the apartment. Advertised very well. We know the area well so we could visualize the location, knew the restaurants/entertainment in the local area. |

We were delighted with the Abbesses apartment. Our greeter, Evelyne, was full of knowledge and enthusiasm about her beloved city, and very helpful, as were the many guidebooks in the apartment. She pointed out all the landmarks from our kitchen window, and had good suggestions for places to go and how best to get there. The apartment itself was spotless, but cosy and welcoming. With the fromagerie, boulangerie, patisserie, and other shops selling fresh produce within a couple of blocks, we enjoyed cooking our own meals - thus experiencing French food without the exorbitant French restaurant prices! In the morning, we took our coffee onto the balcony and listened to the music from the little square across the street. In the evening the windows on the other side gave us a view of the city with the Eiffel Tower straight ahead, lighting up the night sky. The Metro was literally steps away, so although if you look at a map, you may think Montmartre is too far from the city centre, it was easily accessible, and the Metro is very easy to get around on. It really did feel like a haven, our home for the week, and so much better than a hotel! I would definitely book through Haven in Paris again, and we all (myself, husband and 25 year old daughter) agreed that if we were looking for an apartment in Paris, we would want something like this one. Why HiP? I found a reference to the website in a Canadian doctors' leisure and travel magazine, Doctors Review. |
We loved our apartment at Abesses. It was a dream come true stay in Paris with such a comfortable place and fabulous views. Our greeter, Evelyne was amazingly generous with her time and treated us like family. We are already working out how we can get back to Paris and stay with HIP again. We're telling all our friends in Australia and the US to use HIP - so easy, so professional - fantastique!!!! Why HiP? OF all the websites we looked at, yours was the easiest to navigate and had the best information. Your follow-up service was 5 star and the reviews were all so positive that we were confident your property would live up to expectations. |

From start to finish the stay was perfect. We enjoyed the apartment stay mostly because of the view. The view of the town is so much better than the pictures. The location of the apartment was great as well within walking steps to a metro stop very close to everything. Nice shops at your finger tips with all of the best Paris has to offer and an award winning backing just a few steps away. I really do not think that you can get a safer location in Paris we never felt uneasy there. Having the elevator in the apartment was great after a long day of walking. A new MAC laptop computer was recently installed with very fast internet speed and no trouble logging on that was nice to communicate with work, family and friends. Also the unlimited calling to the US was such a plus. The one phone card we bought to call Venezuela for my husband was 10 euros and didn't last that long so it really saves you money and puts you at ease that you can contact your family whenever you want. I am very picky and am a neat freak and I would say there is not any place in Paris close to being this clean and nice. I can not say enough good things about the staff, the apartment and the staff this is the way vacationing should be!!! Go Haven in Paris when in Paris! Why HiP? The sophisticated website! I work in advertising department and I think you guys do a wonderful job of marketing yourselves the sight looks great! I also saw the review in the New York Times about your company and I just couldn't resist. |
I had a wondrous time - no complaints. Kyra and Evelyne were great. In fact, I will be going back to the Abbesses apartment in 2009. Thank you so very much - I felt that my week stay was like staying at home. I'm telling everyone about the Abbesses apartment and Haven in Paris. |
We really enjoyed our stay at Abbesses and already have intentions of staying there again, hopefully this year. The views were magic especially at night having dinner in the dark watching the Eiffel Tower sparkling. Carrie has met us at 2 places now Livingstone and Abbesses and she has been very pleasant and helpful and readily returned our call when we have had any concerns. We have told our friends about Haven in Paris and we look forward to when we can return to our dreams again. |
Erica and Carrie were wonderful. From the reservation process to meeting us at the apartment and giving us a personal guide to the features of the apartment they were superb. They organized a driver to pick us up at the airport and take us back. They were able to help us understand the neighborhood and local merchants, as well as help guide us through the sights of Paris. The apartment was fabulous. The bedroom had a view of Sacre Coeur and the kitchen overlooked the entire city and the Eiffel Tower. There was a computer with Internet and a phone with access to the US. Every night, after a day of fantastic day of sightseeing, we would metro back (the metro is across the street from the apartment) and visit the local markets and bakeries and come back to the apartment for dinner. The kitchen was well outfitted, and to have dinner overlooking the city and Tower was surreal. I would just have one bit of advice - rent this apartment through Haven in Paris! I can guarantee you it will exceed your expectations. Why HiP? Found it through a friend |
We have just arrived back in Australia and wish to thank the Haven in Paris team for a wonderful stay in Paris. 11 Rue de Abbesses was absolutely delightful. Great Parisian atmosphere and a view 'to die for'. Many thanks also to Carrie, our 'Greeter for her charming introduction and excellent attention to detail. We stayed for 25 nights and really felt at home the entire time! We shall not hesitate to recommend your services to other colleagues and look forward to staying in another fabulous apartment, under Haven in Paris management! |
We stayed in the 11 Abbesses apartment in early January of 2008. The apartment lived up to our expectations and beyond. We have been traveling to Paris annually for over forty years and this was the best trip. The area is busy but friendly, the apartment warm and user friendly. During our week, we only left the area once, to visit a friend. The eating, the shopping, the churches, the band in the park, the cable car (le funiculaire) to Le Sacre Coeur, the eating out, the eating in were all great. We had a dream week. Thanks to all the team. |
The apartment was fantastic - views from both directions. Montmartre was a great neighborhood for walking around and shopping. The DVD collection was interesting - movies taking place in Paris - it made us think of others - one being Victor Victoria. The giant bathtub was a real treat. We hope to come back soon. Why HiP? I found it on VRBO, when comparing the prices it looked like it was in better condition than other apartments I looked at on the web. We were not disappointed. |
In October 2006 we enjoyed our visit to 11 rue des Abbesses so much that we returned for a week this October. Everything was again wonderful from the greeting by Carrie to the world-class views. Some things, such as the new bathroom, the remodeled kitchen and the free telephone service, were even better. And the Abbesses metro, which was closed last October for repairs, was now open making the Place des Abbesses even more vibrant. We hope to rerurn again next year. Al and Judy Goldsmith Why HiP? Repeat visit. Last year's initial booking was based primarily on the excellent HIP Website. |
We absolutely loved the Abbesses apartment and had a wonderful 2-week stay there. Thank you for everything. The apartment was perfect in every way and greatly exceeded our expectations. We have rented apartments before from other organizations and have never experienced such thoroughness and attention to detail as we did with Haven in Paris. We were extremely pleased with the car service you recommended from the airport and back. One of the highlights of our stay was the delightful day with Eric and his Cooking with Class. Our greeter, Carrie, was delightful and helpful In the apartment, the internet access was great during the strikes for access to train and metro line information. Finally, the telephone was a big help during a health crisis at home with one of our pets. |

As the days drift into autumn and jobs, school and business consume us, I reflect back on our summer and our week in Montmartre. It reminds me, there is rejuvenation. Looking out the front window, a framed Sacre Couer, out the kitchen window, the Eiffel Tower and a spectacular view of most of Paris, one could contemplate never leaving this beautifully furnished apartment in the heart of one of Paris' most charming neighborhoods. But the lure of a freshly baked baguette, roaming the quaint stores that line the streets and stopping for an expresso in any of the numerous cafes brings us out. Don't hesitate to let yourself experience Paris and all that it offers from a place that is well stocked for comfort. The guest book has page after page of appreciation for what is a very special apartment in a very special city. |
The apartment, itself, was adorable. We loved our views of the Tour Eiffel and the dome of Sacre Coeur. It was great having the wireless internet connection because, unfortunately, I had some business to conduct with people back in New York. The bed was comfortable, and the kitchen was reasonably well stocked. Some of our most enjoyable evenings were spent buying food on rue Lepic, eating dinner in the apartment, and sitting on the sofa watching a DVD as we finished our wine. Carrie (our greeter) greeted us at the apartment, and she was great. She also made restaurant reservations at Guy Savoy for us (spectacular restaurant). She suggested l'Assiette and made the reservation for us--we had a wonderful time there. She was available by cell phone and always got back to us in a timely way. |

For my birthday my sister treated me to a week in Paris at the flat in Rue des Abbesses. Excellent sister! Excellent flat! Excellent location! Excellent time! The flat was better than my imagination had foreseen. Extremely comfortable, well set up, and in a great location. Though Montmartre is of course incredibly busy, being 5 floors up meant there was no intrusive noise. The Metro was but a step across the street to start our journies to various areas of Paris and beyond. Handy for returning exhausted also. We ate and drank locally quite a few times when we were too tired to venture further afield after a day of exploration. There was plenty of choice to suit different tastes and wallets. The local bakeries had all the yummalicious bread and patisserie I required, with the bakers that had won the third best baguette in Paris award almost directly opposite. Raspberry and pistachio mille feuilles, or religeuses may not be the healthiest breakfast but I am sure the cake hounds amongst you can appreciate the thought. I neednt even have taken a holiday book with me for the odd quieter moment spent sitting in parks and squares. There was a varied and interesting range in the flat. I'd gladly go back again, and use the same flat or the company, but with many European cities still unexplored, it will be a while before I return to Paris. Why HiP? My sister researched companies on the internet, reading the reviews of previous guests on the flat we used and also on other accommodation the company had. |

What a wonderful property and experience that we had in Monmarte in the Abbesses apartment. It was the perfect place for us to call home for 9 days. Our greater, Evelyn, was such a pleasure and spent just the right amount of time helping to orient us to all the apartment had to offer. She also spent time with us in the neighborhood showing us all the wonderful shops and restaurants within walking distance. She gave us great tips of what we must see and the easiest way to get to places as well. The apartment was so wonderful. What great views of the Eiffel Tower and the Sacre Cour. It was so refreshing and inspiring to wake up to such wonderful views. The apartment allowed for us to actually "live" while we were there. It was wonderful to experience the cheese, butcher and bakery shops everyday. There were so many wonderful places around the apartment to experience breakfast or snack before dinner. The extra attention that Haven in Paris gives their clients is so appreciated. Flowers, wine, travel books (no need to bring yours), novels to read, movies to watch and the computer were all great additions. We were so tired from sightseeing one night, we grabbed pizza and watched a movie. We can't wait to return to this wonderful city and apartment. Thanks to everyone that helped make our stay a vacation of a lifetime. |
We had a great stay in a great apartment in a great neighborhood! We enjoyed the apartment immensely... Kyra, Evelyne and Erica were very sweet and helpful. We'll be back... |
We had a wonderful time in the apartment. It was a great location and the greeters were wonderful and very helpful. We will recommend this site to our friends in the future |
Corinne and I had a WONDERFUL stay in Paris and truly, after having toured all over, we realized that we couldn't have stayed in a better location. We loved Montmartre and the metro was so easy that we never felt removed or apart from the center of things. The apartment itself was just perfect for he two of us and we really started to feel like it was our home (which made it really hard to leave). Carrie, our greeter, was lovely and quite helpful too. I have already passed your website along to many of my friends. I'm sure that we'll be in touch again as I would love to return to Paris before too long and, when I do, I will start by checking availability with you. Take care. |
What a fantastic way to land in Paris! My husband and I felt immediately at ease in the neighborhood. such a comfortable flat, it was a pleasure to come "home" to after a day of out and about. Much time was spent with a cup of cafe or a glass of wine out on the balcony watching all the excitement below. I can't recall exactly how i came across the website, but as soon as I found it, it had all the information I needed: very descriptive with lots of photos. We are looking forward to returning to Paris. |
We had a wonderful holiday in Paris and the apartment was perfect. We really loved the fact that we felt like locals and not tourists every time we went in and out. It couldn't be in a better spot- surrounded by restaurants and shops and opposite the metro. It was great to cross the street for breakfast croissants etc every morning and we tried several of the restaurants you recommended in the evenings. It must have one of the best views in Paris and at night when the lights on the Eiffel Tower started to sparkle was magical to watch. Our trip was business as well as pleasure and we shall be returning in the not too distant future. Our only problem is going to be whether to stay at Rue des Abbesses again or try another of your apartments in a different part of Paris. Carrie, our greeter was at the apartment to meet us and was nice and polite and explained how everything worked in the apartment. |
The apt. was fantastic and the way it is set up with the towels and dishes and books etc. it made our stay very comfortable. The view is what everyone wants when they go to Paris. And on the street side, it was great sitting with a glass of wine and watching all the people and listening to the music coming up from the square. The church bells ringing the time of the hour. It was perfect. Staying there made us feel like we were living in Paris and not just visiting. We travel alot and some times you come across places that are nice, but the price is so ridiculous it ruins the stay. The apt. is fairly priced and that makes the stay that much more enjoyable. |
This apartment was all that we'd hoped for. It was a 2nd honeymoon bliss. The decor, the location, the serene views were all wonderful. As we stepped out of the car our greeter was ready and waiting to help orient us to the amenities of the apartment. We felt very pampered. The apartment is beautifully situated close to markets, restaurants, the metro and has lovely views out of both the back and front of the building. All the rooms were creatively and tastefully decorated. We highly recommend this haven. |
Abbesses was wonderful. It was so nice having a comfortable place to come home to every day. Carrie, our greeter, was great! She was already at the apartment waiting for us when we arrived -- with a vase of flowers and fresh pot of coffee to welcome us. What a nice gesture that was. She was "a l'heure" when it was time to go -- all ran like clockwork --Hopefully I can bring some friends back for next year's Marathon ! |
The apartment is charming, the location is fantastic, Paris is wonderful. Haven in Paris have given us exceptional service and it has been a pleasure to rent from you. |
Since our return from Paris, my partner and I have extolled the virtues of the Abbesses apartment to anyone who will listen. It was marvelous. From soup to nuts, all our needs and expectations were fulfilled. Kyra and Anne were friendly, attentive and extremely knowledgable about the city as well as the apartment. The apartment was charming and very comfortable. The new bathroom with it's enormous tub and rainhead shower was luxurious, especially at the end of a long day of exploring the city. The kitchen/dining room was bright and well appointed. The windows offered the most amazing sweeping views of the city. Having a phone (which now has free calling to the US) was very convenient. A computer with internet access allowed us to check out museum schedules and directions when needed. The bedroom was comfortable and cozy and quiet. The apartment truly was a haven for us. The location of the apartment made it easily accessible. The Abbesses metro is across the street and was recently renovated. There is an elevator up the 7 or so underground stories, so stairs are minimized. The Montmartebus leaves from across the street as well. Montmartre gave us a village atmosphere, within minutes of the hubbub of the heart of Paris. I recommend this apartment without reservation and commend the Haven in Paris staff for exceptional service and organization. We would return to this apartment in a heartbeat. |
Wonderful views! The flat is so clean too. My son + I have loved every minute of our stay here. |
And so we complete our second stay at this wonderful Haven on rue des Abbesses. cafe Bruant is our new discovery this time - and the Louvre - overwhelming. The people in the neighborhood REMEMBERED us from last year and we feel very much at home. The light, the Tour Eiffel outside the kitchen windows, Sacre Coeur peeking over the Post Office across the street. Such a wonderful place - thanks. |
The apartment at Rue des Abbesses was perfect. For four wonderful days we revelled in the elegance and comfort of 'our' Parisian apartment. The views from both sides of the apartment were magical. We watched the sun set behind the Eiffel Tower and, on the other side, saw the sun shine on the Sacre Coeur. They must be the best views in all of Paris. The iMac was wonderful and allowed us to keep in touch with family on the other side of the world. There was no need to go looking for an Internet cafe -we had it all there. We have stayed in apartments in other countries before but have never had someone ring us to check on arrangements. Erica really impressed us with her friendliness and her efficiency. After a couple of days we must have looked very much at home in the winding, cobbled streets of Montmartre - we were asked for directions to the Sacre Coeur in French! We all laughed when we gave ourselves away trying to reply in French. Kyra, our greeter, was wonderful. She was very pleasant when we rang to say we were held up at the airport. She was flexible and came back another time that suited us. She was most helpful explaining how things worked in the apartment and sharing her knowledge of Paris. She was an excellent, friendly, efficient, professional 'face' for your company. Would we return to Rue des Abbesses? We can't wait to return one day. Thank you for making our time in Paris so wonderful Thank you Erica. Merci beaucoup. R. Hughes New Zealand |

The Abbesses flat was warm and immaculate, spacious and cozy. Every thoughtful detail had been provided; from welcome flowers and provisions, to well organized books of information about the flat and the area. In the front hall there is a rotating library of fiction and a great selection of French guidebooks, maps and brochures. Seasoned travelers, especially, will appreciate all the organization and thoughtful provisions and preparations. First time travelers will be so spoiled, they will never be happy anywhere else! Both beds are comfortable and the linens are luxurious. The views of the city cannot be topped, from sunrise to sunset. The neighborhood was welcoming, with every convenience nearby. In the late afternoon the Place des Abbesses is an active and fun place to be, but by 10 PM all was quiet and serene. I have been traveling to Paris for nearly 40 years and have stayed everywhere from St Ouen to the George V. The flat on rue des Abbesses felt like home to me and I hope to return soon. P.S. Carrie (our greeter) was prompt, polite and very helpful, both on the day we arrived and again this morning, as we experienced a slight glitch with the pre-arranged airport pick-up and she solved it with a couple of phone calls. For us it would have been a huge problem to solve! The Abbesses flat turned out to be all that we hoped for and more! |
Being able to see the roof of Sacre Couer from our bed and then the sparkling Eiffel Tower at night from the kitchen was terrific. It was also great to be able to enjoy our morning cafe et croissants (and evening vin et fromage) from our very own terrace. The apartment was spacious and well equipped, from fluffy towels and iMac with itunes, to English DVDs and books. Walking into Sacre Couer at 8.30am on the morning of All Saints Day and hearing the choir was very special. Erica's guide to local restaurants was fantastic!! We tried a number of the recommended restaurants and found them great - especially Le Restaurant Carrie (our greeter ) was very friendly. She was also attentive with calling half way through our time to see how things were going. Through this call we were able to fix our problem with internet access. We had an absolutely fantastic time in Paris. We will definitely be returning! |
The perfect vacation in the perfect accommodation in the perfect city! Thank you for all your thoughtful arrangements and provisions. In 40 years of visiting Paris I have never felt so at home, so relaxed. I can think of nothing more that you could add, you have thought of everything. Our last spectacular sunset bid us adieu and we are refreshed and prepared for winter in Canada - though eagerly planning a return to 11 rue des Abbesses in the not-too distant future. Thank you again. |
We, too, give you our compliments on the lovely apartment. Our stay in Paris was perfect - just not long enough! We hope to return to learn more about the city and to enjoy the diversity and excitement of Montmartre. Merci. |

My wife and I have been to Paris many times, and our October visit was perhaps the most enjoyable, in large part due to our stay in the lovely apartment at 11 rue des Abbesses. This was our first stay in the 18th arrondissement and our first stay in an apartment in Paris. Everything combined to make this apartment and neighborhood truly outstanding. The booking process with Haven in Paris was the most efficient I have experienced. The information sent before the trip was exceptionally helpful. The Haven in Paris representatives who met us on arrival and departure were most helpful (and the bottle of wine and beautiful roses most appreciated). The neighborhood around the Place des Abbesses was great, with wonderful little shops for food and wine, and lively without having noise or safety problems. The apartment itself with its stunning views was the capstone of our great experience. We especially enjoyed the view at night of the lighted Eiffel Tower and its hourly flashing lights display. We have rented apartments in London, Rome and Tuscany and this apartment was the best equipped and most user friendly. Having internet and email access and a washer and dryer provided icing on the cake. Our only regret was being able to have the apartment for only four nights. We definitely want to return next year for at least a week. |
Each evening my wife and I returned to our apartment for a brief rest before finding a new restaurant or cafe for dinner. We'd sit on the balcony overlooking the park and the intersection, watching tourists check out shops, locals walking their dogs, shop-owners greeting friends, and bicyclists plying the cobblestone streets on their way to their favorite café. We'd eat the treasures we'd bought here and there all day, always with wine or coffee and the ubiquitous baguette. But at 8PM sharp we'd adjourn to the other side of the apartment and open the large dining area windows wide, the better to see the lady --the Eiffel Tower-- put on her diamond gown for ten minutes. It was a sight that never failed to thrill us, night after night. We would never vacation any other way again. The location of the apartment, the size and cleanliness, the decor and amenities were all perfect. The greeter, Carrie, couldn't have been nicer, more helpful or more knowledgeable. She exuded enthusiasm, which is the best way to begin an adventure. And we felt certain that had we needed to call her for assistance she would have jumped to our assistance. Yes, we will return. Yes, we have given your haveninparis.com address to many friends already. Staying in your rental was wonderful, and Paris was all that it is cracked up to be. |
This apartment was better than we expected, everything was perfect! The view is incredible and we lucked out with amazing sunsets. I have had various dealings with other Paris rentals, and most were difficult and confusing. My dealings with Erica were professional and easy. It helps to be able to talk to someone on the phone in the U.S. For the money, it was a very good deal. I had looked at 3 star hotels for this price and they don’t have an entire household setup like this! The bed is nice, new and very comfortable. The full kitchen setup was great. Little things like coffee and laundry detergent were included which saved us the hassle. The thorough information about the apartment, Montmartre, restaurants and sites made our stay carefree and easy. Kyra, our greeter, was friendly and helpful. We really appreciated the professionalism that Erica and Kyra gave us! Feel free to contact me via email about any concerns you may have, and regarding my dealings with Haven In Paris. I highly recommend Rue Des Abbesses or any other "HIP" rentals! |
Where else could we have this fab view of the city? We've had a lovely time in Paris, seen the sights, eaten + drunk very well but it's always been great to return to rue des Abbesses + this cozy apartment. We shall return! |
We were very pleased with the apartment and it offered everything you and your web site had promised. The location was great and the apartment was cheerful, cozy, clean, well-stocked and all the appliances, etc. were of high quality. It felt more like a home. We loved Paris, and do hope to visit again. |

We just got back from our European adventure last Saturday. When we find ourselves describing the 6-week trip, we invariably highlight the view, location and the whole pleasant aspect of the apartment of 11 rue des Abbesses. It is hard to think of anything that should be done to improve the quality of the place. It is exceptionally well-maintained and certainly very comfortable as a place to stay in Paris I'd say you have a near-perfect unit from our standpoint. We were extremely pleased with the apartment at 11 rue des Abbesses, for a number of reasons. The apartment is very handsome and comfortable, highlighted by views out of both sides of the apartment that would be considered premium at any Paris hotel -- a spectacular panorama of the city on the south, punctuated by the Eiffel Tower, which sparkles at night. The view to the north is to the little square where the Abbesses Metro Station is located, full of Parisian street life, and up to the Monmartre hilltop, with the basilica of Sacre Coeur perched at the top. The neighborhood is vibrant and filled with restaurants and shops to fill the needs of our stay, reinforcing all of our positive preconceptions of Paris. The experience was amplified by the gracious engagement of the staff at Haven in Paris. We will fondly remember 11 rue des Abbesses for a long time. Dawn and Perry Chapman Belmont, Massachusetts |

This is the way to live and learn Paris. My sister and I were most at home and love the style and charm of rue des Abbesses. I was thrilled at the quality of the appointments and the location of the apartment. We will have such great memories of or first visit to Paris. Thank you for providing such a charming and warm home for us. I’ll be booking again with you. |

La petite appartement on rue des Abbesses in Montmartre was just delightful. My mom and I wanted to experience Paris through the eyes, ears, and palettes of Parisians and rue des Abbesses provided an excellent backdrop that genuinely immersed us within the streets and people of Paris. Beyond the ever so chic and très mignon apartment that looks out onto a true treasure of Paris- the Basilica of Sacré-Cœur, and the butte Montmartre…, it’s the neighborhood that makes you really live and breathe Paris. You’ll desire real baguettes from the artisanale boulangerie, you’ll want to walk the well worn cobblestone streets (you might even enjoy the many stairs that envelop this district), students of French will feel warm welcomes to speak the eloquent native tongue, you’ll jog across the street to catch the metro with your carté orange, and finally what you will truly enjoy the most besides the views from the apartments many windows-- is your cozy seat in a café just off rue des Abbesses while you grab un express, or un vin and maybe a cigarette or two … We only offer a few words to the wise…if you’re off to the 6th for dinner and you want to fetch a cab make sure you know that it’s a walk to the stand—so walk in your comfy shoes to the Moulin Rouge... after you pop into the cab change into your heels babe! And don’t be afraid if late at night you hear a tender man serenading his lover—it’s just the couple next door to you, or down the street from you enjoying the beauty of life, the beauty of Paris. |
Paris sings its beautiful song right into this apartment. Everyhing is perfect and the view cannot be truly represented on a website. You have made this feel like everyone's Paris if only for the time one is here, we can all dream. I especially love the painting of Sacre Coeur next to the window with the viw of the Sacre Coeur. |
We have just returned from France and very much enjoyed our week's stay in Paris. Our apartment, Abbesses, was just as pictured on your site, except the view is even more spectacular! The apartment was charming and well furnished. We easily traveled all over Paris using the Metro and looked forward to returning "home" with our market produce and bottle of French wine for a relaxing evening. In the mornings we walked across the street to a fabulous bakery and returned to the apartment to enjoy our breakfast on the terrace. We remarked on many an occasion that we were so glad we did not stay in a hotel. We do not like to eat all our meals out and very much prefer a home environment. As an added bonus, we found the cost of renting an apartment to be considerably less than renting a comparable hotel room, especially when one takes into consideration the savings of opting for a few meals at home. We enjoyed the hustle and bustle of Monmartre, the charming bistros and boulangeries, but unfortunately we must report that it was very noisy at night. At first we dismissed this as "weekend noise", but it continued throughout our stay. Having read the guest comments on your site, no one else noted this concern, so we are hesitant to mention our experience. We feel it is probably the exception. That said, we were most pleased with our choice of renting through "Haven in Paris" and would not hesitate to recommend you. |

The apartment in Rue des Abbesses was just the perfect place for us to rediscover Paris after a long absence for more than 15 years. I have been to Paris about a dozen times, but this was the best visit ever - even though it was very, very hot. But coming home from a long day of sightseeing, we could always count on returning to a cool apartment, with a balcony in the shade, a magnificent view to the the Eiffel Tower, and a charming neighbourhood just outside the front door; things that made the heat more bearable. I would like to mention all the nice features of the apartment. The furniture, the computer, the washing machine, the dishwasher, the elevator, and so on. Because there are so many. But somehow they all pale in comparison to a glass of wine at the kitchen table, when they turn on the Eiffel Tower illumination. Marvelous. After the traditional visit to the Sacre Coeur staircase one night, we all agreed that our view from the apartment was a little bit better than the view from Sacre Coeur. A statement that must seem absurd to anyone who has not been to the apartment, and yet it is true. Thanks to Kyra and Alain as well for a unique service. I don't know when we will be back. Soon I hope, and you just made it impossible to stay anywhere else. Meanwhile I will recommend only you and the Abbesses apartment to everybody who is going to Paris. |

I am saddened to leave. We spent the last part of our three week honeymoon here in this most beautiful, comfortable, and friendly home. All was right with the world as we sipped our morning coffee from the balcony or drank wine while watching the Eiffel Tower sparkle at night. Just being in the apartment together was our most favourite part of Paris. We will forever remember it fondly. |

"The Apartment was wonderful as was Kyra's help during our stay. We are still having withdrawals from the 2 hour French lunches, the chocolate, the crepes, the breads, France in the World Cup final while in Paris..... In other words we can't wait to get back to France. The only complaint we have is a serious one. The photos you have on your website don't do justice for the apartment nor the view to the left as you first walk through the door. We were amazed at how incredible that view out the kitchen was, and even found ourselves getting up an looking out time and time again as if the city was not going to be there. We do intend to stay again in the future, no doubt about it. Thank you so much for the memorable Honeymoon " |

We really enjoyed our stay in the Abbesses apartment. Everyone we dealt with at Haven In Paris was reliable and helpful. The apartment actually exceeded the expectations raised by the marketing. We got what you advertised and perhaps even more, from the spectacular view from the dining room window to the wonderful ambiance of Montmartre. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the apartment to friends if I ever get the chance. Thanks so much for being so helpful to a family that had never visited Paris before, too. All the written information you provided meant a lot to us. |

C’était très formidable! Mais pas de minute de ecrit ! Claire est la, maintenant. Très bon ! |

We loved the apartment and the whole area of Montmartre. The restaurant selections in your book were fabulous! We were honeymooning this week and it was a week to remember! We hope to come back at the same time every year. Thanks, |

We arrived on June 21, the solstice, by rented car (no mean trick for the novice), followed the instructions about getting a roast chicken at Chicken Family, opened the bottle of wine kindly provided upon our arrival, and began to relax. We had noticed the signs about the Fête de la Musique, and had negotiated around the musicians in black leather etc. Their amplifiers and instruments camped on the steps of the Abbesses apartment, but we didn’t really understand. They cranked up and played all night. Quel bruit! If we’d understood, we’d have gone out into the night ourselves, but as it was, we kept thinking they’d stop. I considered calling the police, my husband considered dumping water on them. Thank goodness we did neither. A rough start to a wonderful stay. The apartment is great, what a view! Merci beaucoup. |

Great apartment and location with amazing views. Some highlights for us have been the Musée Marmottan-Monet, Musées Rodin and Picasso, Saint-Chapelle and the great Sunday market at Bastille. This is really a haven in Paris! |

My husband and I were fortunate to stay at your wonderful Montmartre 1BDR APT w/Eiffel Tower & Sacre Coeur Views at 11 rue des Abbesses. Along with outstanding views, the charm of this spacious Parisian flat made our visit unforgettable. The apartment was clean, comfortable and provided us with everything we needed. Our hosts, Erica and Alain, were hospitable, accommodating and helpful. We would recommend this apartment to anyone who is looking for a real sense of the Parisian active lifestyle. We would definitely stay there again. |

Our stay at the Abbesses apartment was perfect. We had all the comforts of home and could not have asked for more. The linens were soft, the beds comfortable, the neighbourhood welcoming and the views unbeatable. We feel lucky to have stayed here. Thank you for this wonderful apartment. |

What an amazing stay in an amazing city. The apartment is everything I could’ve wanted and more. The views of the Eiffel Tower and Sacre Coeur are unbelievable. My suggestion is to really walk this neighbourhood in many directions; there is something to discover on each street. Saint Chapelle is a beautiful example of stained glass. This was my first time out of the US and I hope to return someday with my daughter. Very well done. The amenities are first class and the apartment-flat- is pristine yet easy to be comfortable in. |

What an amazing place! It is magical, warm and inviting. The views are so fantastic it is tempting to stay home all day and allow your eyes to feast on the sights and movements. Thank you for creating such a lovely atmosphere. Even when one is on vacation it is so nice to feel at home. I feel so fortunate to have experienced all of this! |

Thank you for having the vision and talent to create a charming and practical “home away from home.” You’ve covered the details with thoughtfulness and finesse. Paris is amazing! |

We love your home away from home in Paris! Your apartment is warm and welcoming, so cozy and beautiful. I hope you will offer it again as an auction item for the Mautner Project. We’ll tell all of our friends in Washington, D.C. and beyond to stay here. We couldn’t have enjoyed it more! |
Thank you so much for sharing your absolutely wonderful apartment with us ! We loved the neighbourhood with its little food shops, and it was perfect being so close to the metro. A bientôt. |

The Abbesses apartment was a comfortable and attractive base for a week's stay in Paris with our two small children. It was warm, clean and very comfortable and the view from the kitchen window was nothing less than spectacular. The kitchen itself was very well equipped and to be so near so many wonderful food shops was great fun. We would recommend it to anyone and certainly book it again. |

This is a late comment for a stay that we had back in January. What a great apartment. We loved it. Perfect location and lovely views. And just enough room for two people. Everything was as described. I'll definitely look into staying again on my next trip to Paris. |
The apt. matches all the comments completely! All I can add is don't bother bringing guide books or reading material regarding Paris, they have a tantelizing selection of books of which I made barely a dent! |

"The Abbesses apartment is a perfect place for everyone who is looking for the complete Parisian experience. The neighborhood has extraordinary conveniences, restaurants and shops galore, and the Metro is located directly across the street with quick assess to all Paris has to offer. Your very helpful hosts will help you settle in with a tour of the apartment, so that you and your guests can get the most out of your stay. The apartment is superbly well-equipped and the double exposure provides a picture postcard panoramic view, including Paris’ most famous and distinguishable monuments, buildings and museums, including the Eiffel Tower! You will marvel at the balcony off the living room as you look down onto rue due Abbesses and look up to see the cupolas of Sacre- Coeur. The kitchen and bathroom are masterfully appointed with everything that you need to feel like you live there. Whenever I stay at Abbesses, I feel like it’s my home away from home.” |

I stayed at this incredibly charming apartment and was seduced by how much value you get for your money. Not only do you have the best view I've ever enjoyed in Paris, but you also get a generous amount of space to unwind and relax. With hardwood floors and beautiful furniture you don't have to deal with any of the unpleasant stuffiness you get with even the nicest hotel rooms. The location is superb with the metro just a stone's throw out the front door - everything you could want on your doorstep. We spent many a night entertaining in the well equipped kitchen, gazing out at the Eiffel Tower and enjoying the feel of a real Parisian life around us. |

This apartment was wonderful. Convenience is the key and Rue des Abesses can't be more convenient. From the metro across the street, to the awesome patisserie, news stand, grocery store, cafe and all kinds of different restaurants all within five minutes. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider renting again. Alain, Erica and Francoise were great. All our inquiries were answered promptly and they were always avaialble. Thank you. |

Imagine coming home from your daily Parisian adventure to a glass of wine while looking at the Eiffel Tower and other major monuments out your dining room window. It's positively breathtaking. The apartment is lovely, and very traveler-friendly with plenty of nooks, crannies and closet space to hide your clothing and even your luggage. The Abbesses metro stop is located in a park across the street, and this stop is one of only two surviving with the metal and glass roof over the "Metro" sign. An award-winning Boulangerie is across the street. A helpful agent of the apartment's owners greets you upon your arrival, and there are very well organized and thought out binders to assist you in figuring out the phones and e-mails, plus suggestions on where you can dine. The souvenir shops of Steinkerke street are just a short walk away -- and the entire neighborhood is brimming with Parisian charm. We won't stay anywhere else but Abbesses from now on! |

We reflect, often,on our stay at the Abbesses apartment. Many of the previous guests have commented , most favorably on the apartment, its amenities, the spectacular views, the ambience of the quarter, and the helpfulness of Alain and Francoise. We heartily agree!-and the strongest evidence of this is we plan to repeat the experience. Montmarte is exciting because it is still a real, vibrant, working part of Paris, not merely a tourist attraction. We had the feeling there of the Parisa we experienced in other quarters many years ago. So for us much of the pleasure of staying at the Abbesses apartment was, that for a little while, we became inhabitants- not merely vistors to a big theme park for grown-ups |

I had the distinct pleasure of renting the Abbesses apartment for a week in August. First of all the setting was splendid with a stunning view of all of Paris from the lovely sunny kitchen. In the evening we enjoyed the sparkling lights of the Eiffel Tower and the beautiful Paris skyline. The view off the back from the terrace that spans the entire length of the apartment afforded us a grand view of the top of Sacre Coeur and the absolutely atmospheric square below. It was magical. There was always something happening below us. Musicians frequently played live music affording that extra bit of ambience one can only imagine. THe apartment is absolutely lovely with beautiful furnishings and ample supplies. Erica Berman was a perfect hostess and was organized, informative and available. The area in Montmarte was perfect particularly since we were celebrating my sister's wedding. Every guest wanted to spend the evening of her wedding in our apartment. It was one of the best settings imaginable. |

The Abbesses apartment is a beautiful, sunny space with a magnificent panorama of Paris on one side, and a terrace overlooking the Sacre Coeur on the other. The apartment is very comfortable--I slept extremely well in the bed, and enjoyed the well-equipped kitchen with gas burners and two different options for making coffee. It is an unusual luxury in Paris to have a washer and dryer as well as an elevator! The apartment came with a very comprehensive guide to the wonderful neighborhood of Montmartre and most everything a first-time visitor would need to know in visiting Paris. I already know Paris fairly well, but learned a few things--like where to rent a cellphone and the phone number of an excellent taxi service--the best I've ever used in Paris. Also, I can't say enough to recommend the renting agent, Erica . She is extremely efficient and conscientious, as well as friendly and well plugged into Paris life. I highly recommend this apartment. |

Pictures don't do the view justice! The neighborhood and the Paris views from our kitchen window were spectacular. My 50th birthday was filled with views of the Eiffel Tower from my kitchen table and wandering Montmartre during the neighborhood Summer Solstice celebration with bands and merrymaking. The apartment is beautiful and equipped with every modern convenience. The neighborhood food and shopping were glorious, met every Parisienne expectation within walking distance, great food, wine and outdoor markets. Treat yourself to a really great vacation, rent this apartment. |

This apartment was all I could have asked for and more. The metro access is across the street and very convenient. Not to mention the great neighborhood! Eating dinner while having an amazing view of the Eiffel Tower at night |
