St Germain Penthouse w/Terrace

The flat is beautiful. It is in a wonderful location and easy to find. Laurence was delightful. The only nits were the dingy hallway and somewhat rickety steps to the 4th floor. Also, would recommend that the owners install a smoke detector and place 1-2 fire extinguishers in the flat for safety. Note from Haven: Thank you for review Wendye! We are so glad to hear your stay. The hallway and staircase leading to the apartment do definitely need some TLC, and hopefully will be redone soon by the coop. The apartment itself is well worth it! We appreciate your note about the smoke detectors and fire extinguishers. The safety of our guests is very important to us.

We fortunately were able to return to the St Germain Penthouse this year. We enjoyed our stay this year as much as we did last year. The apartment was as comfortable and lovely as we remembered it. We love the neighbourhood and the access to the other areas of Paris that it offers. Laurence is the best greeter we've had in Paris and she takes great pains to make sure the guests are settled and comfortable. She's always available if needed - as is Haven In - which helps to make guests feel more comfortable. The apartment is very well equipped and kept very clean. Having air conditioning in the very hot weather we had was a bonus! We found that after going up and down the stairs to the top floor a couple of times, we got more comfortable with them. We would also suggest using one of the drivers that Haven In recommends as they are very reliable and helpful with the luggage which is important when going up the stairs. We used Marc Waters and couldn't have been more pleased. We would highly recommend Haven In for your stay in Paris. We've been extremely pleased with their services and their product.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the St Germain Penthouse. The apartment is beautiful and very well equipped. We loved the neighbourhood and found it very well located with great access to food shopping, restaurants and getting around Paris. St Germain Penthouse is by far the nicest apartment we've booked in Paris. It was everything we'd hope it would be. Our greeter, Laurence was wonderful. She took a lot of time to explain everything about the apartment and was always available and accessible. We were very pleased with Haven In - they were very professional and always replied promptly to our emails and questions. We would highly recommend booking with them. We hope to return to the St Germain Penthouse as we loved everything about it!

EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT!!! Our time in Paris was a dream come true, and our St Germain Penthouse was the reason why. Paris is always magical, but starting and ending our day in that oasis made us feel as if we lived there. We did not feel like tourists, and we became familiar with local shops and restaurants. We also had quiet family time that is difficult to fit in back home. My children have asked many times when we can return to the Bac Penthouse, so we will definitely be back!

The St Germain penthouse is gorgeous and centrally located. The apartment suits three guests perfectly. The kitchen is well equiped for preparing an amazing french meal to be enjoyed on the terrace! The beds are extremely comfortable. Bathrooms spacious. Our greeter delivered outstanding customer service. This apartment requires an effort to enter, though-through a courtyard, up a few stairs, up an elevator to 4th floor, up a flight of stairs, down two hall ways, down a step to enter- or one singular staircase of 120 steps! But it is well worth the effort!!!

My husband and I have been renting apartments in Paris for over 16 years. Haven In is by far the best company that we have used. Didier is a wonderful greeter and explained all of the necessities to us on our first morning. The location of the Penthouse is perfect. You are close to any and all attractions, great restaurants and it is SILENT! The apartment is located on a lovely tree filled courtyard. The terrace has views of the Eiffel Tower, The Orsay, The Sacre-Coeur and many lovely Parisian Rooftops. The walk up to the apartment does nothing to hint at the treasure that lies behind the red door! One should not be put off by the adventure of getting into the apartment. We were there during a very long heatwave and let me tell you, the air conditioning did it's job. The rooms are a very nice size, and the bathrooms are well designed and very functional. The kitchen has a large refrigerator, good for us as my husband loves to cook! Really, all in all, this was one of the most perfect rentals we have ever encountered. We plan to make this our "usual" in Paris.

Your service has been great. We would use it again and recommend to others. In fact we already have. I doubt we will ever use a hotel again for more than 3 day stay. Didier was perfect and delivered on all that he promised. We did not have the need for much help but I guess if we had he'd have been right on it. The Apartment absolutely met our expectations and was as advertised or better.

I stayed in the St Germain Penthouse for the first time this past July and was so pleased with the property that I chose to return for two weeks over Christmas and New Year's. The apartment is well equiped and very comfortable. The location is excellent and very quiet, yet it is still within walking distance of many shops, restaurants, and sights and of course the metro station and a taxi stand are conveniently located just down the block, so you can get everywhere easily. Staying in this apartment is truly a perfect way to experience Paris and you will definitely feel at home while staying here. Haven In is so easy to work with and the staff in Paris is great.

I had a great stay at the St Germain Penthouse. I found the apartment very comfortable and well outfitted. I cannot think of anything that I found to be missing. Upon my arrival everything was in order and the apartment was clean to my satisfaction. The greeter that met me was great. He explained everything in detail taking special care to cover anything that could possibly be difficult or a problem. He was very courteous and helpful. Prior to my departure I had the opportunity to meet the two ladies that came to do the cleaning and they were also very nice. All in all I was very pleased with the apartment and the entire experience with Haven In.

The St Germain Penthouse is a wonderful apartment. Its amenities, design and layout are only beaten by its location. It is not huge but its high ceilings, clean modern lines, large master bedroom and terrace make it feel larger and more open than it actually is. The other wonderful thing it has going for it is the silence. While it gets wonderful views all over the rooftops of Paris it faces courtyards rather than streets and the only noises we heard were the pigeons in the evening and a thrush in the morning (or was it the other way round). The apartment is also wonderfully stocked with great quality towels and linens and a generously supplied kitchen. The building itself is quite eccentric. 'Shabby Chic' is an over-used term but this is a building of both significant chicness and substantial shabbiness. The huge stairwell, oak and tile floors and even the narrow walkway that (eventually) takes you to the apartment looks like some sort of movie set - for not a particularly happy movie! We loved the eccentricity of it and opening and closing the door to the fresh and modern apartment left it all behind anyway. And in reverse, leaving the apartment and leaving the building with a close of the big blue door at street level, always took in your breath as you stepped out on to one of the very best streets in the very best city in the world.

Once again, Haven In has gone above and beyond to assure that everything went perfectly for our Paris stay. When there was an unforseen and unpreventable issue with the apartment, we were called ahead of time and provided with an excellent solution to the problem. No surprises upon arrival. It is this kind of customer service that sets Haven In apart from other agencies we have used in the past (and we have used many). They go the extra mile to make sure that your trip is perfect in every way. For a wonderful rental experience in Paris, there is no better agency to work with.

We thoroughly enjoyed the St Germain Penthouse apartment. Our greeter was very gracious and knowledgeable and explained how everything worked in the apartment. We also appreciated the driver service by David--he made arriving and departing Paris very easy. The location of the apartment is excellent. The Musee de Orsay is four blocks away, restaurants in walking distance, cab station just outside the door, Farmer's Market on the Rue du Raspail 3 times a week, etc. The apartment was very clean when we arrived and up to our expectations. Alison, who helped us with tickets to the Paris ballet did a fine job. We were very happy with our seats in the orchestra center.

The location was ideal. The apartment was convenient and comfortable. The balcony was a tremendous bonus. We enjoyed it daily. The view was marvelous. Great kitchen with everything we needed. Comfy bed. Loved having the use of the phone for free calls to Canada. We called our families often. The greeter was on time, well presented and very knowledgeable. He was easily available for questions during the stay which was appreciated. The apartment was fabulous.

We had a great time in the St Germain Penthouse. The terrace was a luxury that few Parisian apartments have, as was the peace and quiet. The location was perfect. The service provided by the Haven In team during the booking process and in Paris was excellent.

My stay in Paris was wonderful, which included the apartment that I stayed in. The apartment was spacious, lovely, and in a fabulous location. The only problem with the apartment is the drains and water pressure in the master bathroom. I know this problem is being addressed. Looking forward to returning in the near future.

The St Germain Penthouse is a gorgeous apartment. Conveniently located, we were just minutes away from the Bon Marche, a large Monoprix, bakeries, shopping, and great restaurants. Probably our favorite thing about the apartment however was the large terrace with stunning views of Paris (you can see les Invalides, the Eiffel Tower, the Grand Palais, and Sacre Coeur!) Not only did the apartment come equipped with everything we could ever need for a perfect stay in Paris, but we were also surprised by how quiet and peaceful it was. Overall, we had an incredible stay at the Bac Penthouse and can't wait to book with Haven In again soon in the near future!

This was our first time to rent a flat rather than stay in a hotel while on holiday. Based on our unforgettable experience with Haven In, we look forward to doing the same again after our memorable week at the St Germain penthouse flat. The flat itself is spacious with large windows that provide a view in one direction of Sacre Coeur and the Eiffel Tower in the other direction. After a long day out and about in Paris, one can enjoy the terrace which offers a comfortable setting for a refreshing drink with a splendid view and the large, leafy trees that give shade in the late afternoon. Whether inside or outside on the terrace, we couldn't get over how quiet the flat was. We didn't hear any city noise in spite of our location in the heart of Paris, all of 3 blocks from the Seine. The flat is roomy and bright with lofty ceilings that must be about 13 feet high. This makes it appear even larger. Skylights in the ceiling bring in a lot of natural light during the day. The kitchen must have been designed by someone who understands the importance of modern, easy-to-use appliances arranged for easy access while making sure that the cook has plenty of counter space. I should also mention that the air conditioning was useful when the temps hit 90F (32C) in Paris during our stay. What a relief to have it! The St Germain penthouse is located in a beautiful and historic neighborhood. The flat is remarkably central with the Louvre about 10 minutes away on foot across the Pont Royal, the Musee d’Orsay 5 minutes distance on foot just around the corner, the well-stocked Monoprix supermarket just across the street, a handy boulangerie two doors down and a variety of cafes and restaurants on every street corner. On a couple of evenings, we had wonderful meals close to home in two restaurants, the Gaya and Les Ministeres. However, with the metro only steps away, it is also easy and convenient to go further afield. Montmartre, for example, is a direct run from rue du Bac metro stop. But it’s also easy to enjoy wandering the narrow streets of the Left Bank, ending up at the Jardin du Luxembourg which has plenty of space for a picnic lunch. Provisions can be bought on the way at the wonderful Grande Epicerie beside the Bon Marche department store – a walk of about 8 minutes from the flat. The Grande Epicerie in its own right is worthy of a visit by any tourist to Paris. But the Luxembourg Garden also has a cafe that offers delicious meals while sitting under the trees. The St Germain penthouse also intrigued us because one of France’s most famous writers, Andre Malraux, wrote his most notable novel, The Human Condition while living on nearby. When he was De Gaulle’s minister of culture, Malraux successfully brought the Mona Lisa to the USA in the 1960s while the Kennedys were in the White House. The fascinating taxidermy shop seen in the Woody Allen film, Midnight in Paris, is also on nearby. It’s not difficult to see why Picasso, Hemingway et al. dropped in there to see the array of colorful creatures lurking inside. We found the staff at HIP always available to help out with our questions. The entire process of making a reservation is quick and efficient. The staff replied promptly to our emails and sent clear, helpful and concise information about a variety of matters that can be important to a visitor. Our greeters and the drivers (found at the Haven In website) were all well-informed, friendly, and very professional. Roger, our greeter, was charming and most helpful, as was Gregory our driver who met us at Charles DeGaulle Airport. Haven In seems to have thought of everything that goes towards making people feel relaxed and very much “at home” in a large city in a foreign country. The St Germain Penthouse is in a lovely building with delightful views of the Eiffel Tower and Musee D'Orsay. The apartment is quiet and peaceful, very spacious and a lovely respite from busy Paris streets. Centrally located, it is a short walk to Rue de Rivoli, and Notre Dame. We enjoyed the many cafes and patisseries close by. The neighborhood was delightful!

We loved the property and had a wonderful time. The location was excellent and Didier Paul (our greeter) was terrific. We were greeted in a most fabulous way by Didier. The wine that was left for us was the only red wine I've enjoyed for years.

We very much enjoyed our stay at St Germain Penthouse apartment - its our second stay. Didier is a wonderful greeter and is always prompt if there is any problems or requests. The apartment is in a fantastic location for our needs and the new Carrefour across the street makes it even better. No suggestions on how to improve since we always enjoy staying there.

First the personnel. David, our driver, was fabulous. Prompt, helpful and very pleasant. He responded cheerfully to our last minute schedule change due to a cancelled flight. 10/10! Ditto for Didier. Great suggestions. Helped us make a wonderful reservation. Once again very pleasant, responsive and accommodating (the schedule change again). 10/10 And, of course, the Haven In staff did a great job. 10/10 We loved the apartment and St. Germain. All the amenities, well equipped and very comfortable. Terrific location. The apartment was very private and quiet (a little bit of construction noise). It was nice to be able to call North America without cost. The laptop was also appreciated since ours went on the fritz. Wonderful terrasse, although the chairs are not very comfortable and are a bit ragged. Nice views albeit the tower was obscured by the large trees. Having said that, the trees were beautiful and added privacy and ambience. The condition of some of the common areas in the building (halls etc.) was below our expectations. In many areas paint was peeling from the walls and the floors/walls seemed unclean. A great trip and one we will always remember. Thank you. Note from Haven In: The upper hallway by the apartment is scheduled for renovations and we hope they will be sooner rather then later. Luckily the flat is so wonderful and makes up for the somewhat tired hallway.

We absolutely loved the St Germain Penthouse. It was a privilege to be able to stay there because we were introduced to a lovely area of Paris which was rather unfamiliar to us. Didier was an absolutely marvelous greeter and great fun as well. The Haven In team is amazing.

The staff during the whole reservation process was courteous and prompt. Once in Paris, from the moment Dider greeted us,to the beautiful towering vase of flowers awaiting us at the St Germain penthouse, everything was top notch. The location was perfect, apartment was clean and beautifully appointed. Quiet and private with spectacular views off the patio. We have traditionally stayed in a hotel in the area, but no more. The location was perfect, everything within walking distance. The area was quiet,clean and had patisseries and a small store all just a block away for any quick kitchen needs. Dider promptly answered our call when we had a question,was on hand when the taxi arrived for our departure. We have already booked for next year!

The rental experience with Haven In was wonderful. Starting with the trip from the airport, it was an easy trip into the city; we used recommended driver Andy Waters, who was pleasant and knowledgeable. Mika, our greeter at the apartment, was charming and helpful. When my daughter was worried about connecting her computer to the internet, Mika contacted us later in the day to make sure we were all set. The apartment itself was clean and comfortable. It was a great place to relax after our long days and nights walking through Paris. I couldn't imagine going back to a small, cramped hotel room. My 2 teenage daughters were happy because they could contact their friends via internet. The laptop that was provided worked well. The left bank location was great. A 5 minute walk to the Musee d'Orsay & Louvre and the cafes on rue St. Germain. The metro is right around the corner. Every morning my wife and I took a 3 minute walk to Eric Kayser, one of the best boulangers in Paris, and brought fresh baked goods back to the apartment. When my daughters woke up, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast, with wonderful rooftop views of Paris. Perfect. I have never rented before and was a little nervous, but HiP made the entire experience worry-free. I would certainly use them again. Two notes about the apartment: As Haven In states, the apartment is truely not accessable to folks who have difficuly walking. Once you get to the top of the elevator, on the 4th floor, it's a spiral staircase and a long walk down a narrow hallway to the 5th floor apartment. We enjoyed it; it made us feel like locals, but it's not for the faint of legs. The 2nd note is a very minor complaint. The chairs on the terrace are probably the most uncomfortable things I ever sat on. (I am not overweight, 6 feet, 165 lbs.) However, that did not prevent us from enjoying the terrace every day. We have rented in Paris through several other agencies in the past and this was by far the best experience we have ever had. It was "drama free" from start to finish which adds to the enjoyment of a vacation. The service was professional, incredibly competent and wonderfully helpful from the first contact through the check out. Our greeter Didier was really helpful and went the extra mile to make sure that our stay was perfect. The apartment was just as described, there were no unpleasant surprises as you can sometimes find when renting through the internet. I would recommend Haven in Paris to anyone looking for a wonderful time in Paris! You have a wonderful team and we can't thank you enough for helping make this such a great vacation.

Hello - I just wanted to write and tell you all what a fantastic stay I had last week. The St Germain Penthouse apartment was nothing short of spectacular. And the location was within minutes of everything, no matter what direction we took. Our greeter was outstanding when we arrived and continued to keep in contact and offer help and suggestions throughout the week. What a delightful experience my recent visit to Paris was. The St Germain Penthouse apartment was beautiful and spacious with an amazing view of Paris from its terrace. The location could not have been better, for I was able to walk everywhere I wanted to go from it. Not only was the apartment wonderful but the staff of Haven In was very lovely, professional,and knowledgeable. Am looking forward to being able to return. Bonnie

We had a lovely visit to Paris. Our home away from home in Saint Germain was the perfect way to feel immersed in the local culture. After touring the city all day, we had a beautifully designed, well-appointed, clean apartment to unwind in. The apartment is in a quiet, but accessible part of Paris, where we could walk to many of the beautiful sites, but still feel like we weren't in the middle of a touristy area. We used the car service back to the airport on the recommendation of Haven In so that worked out well.
