About
This Space

The Sacré Coeur Penthouse is a beautiful and surprisingly spacious studio rental located on the top floor (with elevator) of a typical Parisian building in the heart of Paris’ Montmartre neighborhood. This Paris vacation apartment offers a spectacular view of the Sacré Coeur basilica --possibly one of the most romantic views in all of Paris. The apartment has been completely renovated and modernized while maintaining the original charm of its 1930s architecture.

Upon entering the property, you will immediately be drawn to the four large windows overlooking Sacré Coeur, Paris' beautiful rooftops, and open sky. The natural light of the penthouse, combined with fresh white paint and antique oak floors, convey a sense of tranquility and peace. This charming property consists of a main living area with a comfortable queen-sized bed as well as a sofa that converts into a double bed for additional sleeping space, and by the windows, a small dining table to enjoy dinner while gazing out on the white domes of the Sacré Coeur.

The fully-equipped kitchen is open to the living area and offers all the amenities needed to prepare wonderful meals. The bathroom has a combination shower and bathtub, as well as a separate W.C (complete with a tiny window that when opened offers a panoramic Parisian rooftop view). In this cleverly designed studio you will want for nothing; you will find the same amenities, storage, and comforts as can be found in many larger apartments.

Made famous by the movie "Amélie," Montmartre is a wonderful neighborhood that has retained its authentic village feel. Here you will find, the famous Sacré Coeur basilica, delicious restaurants, cafés, food markets, small museums and endless winding cobblestone streets to wander and explore. The Sacré Coeur Penthouse is a perfect option for friends and small families looking for the true Parisian experience without breaking the budget or giving up on beauty and style.

About
The Area

It's no surprise that the picture-perfect village of Montmartre has been the backdrop of so many well known movies, from Amélie Poulain to Midnight in Paris, and inspiration to many famous painters, like Picasso, Dali, Van Gogh and Monet to Toulouse-Lautrec, Mondrian and Pissarro. Winding cobblestone streets, romantic staircases, and hilltop vistas seem to have stayed frozen in time, and are at their most enchanting in the early morning hours or at dusk, when the crowds have dispersed. The tremendous Sacré-Coeur basilica represents Paris' highest elevation point and offers a crystal-clear view of the entire city. After you pay a visit to the basilica, other cultural must-sees include the Musée de Montmartre, the Éspace Dali, and the "I Love You" wall, found just behind the bustling Place des Abbesses. Get a taste of the neighborhood's ambiance while wandering the Sunday food and produce market on rue Lepic and rue des Abbesses or the emerging small businesses around rue Caulaincourt and rue Custine. Don't miss Muse Montmartre and its charming owner, Majid, on rue Burq for a gorgeous bouquet of flowers, Coquelicot for Sunday brunch, Cuillier Café for fresh-ground coffee, and L'Epicerie des Environs for all that is local and delicious. Rue des Martyrs, starting in Montmartre and finishing south in hip Sopi, is one of the oldest market streets in the city and has greatly evolved in the recent past. It now boasts the charming Café Marlette, delicious Rose Bakery, hip Kookaburra coffee shop, Pain Pain bakery, Neo T teahouse, Sebastien Gaudard pâtisserie, and many other delicious speciality food shops. Its warm, inviting charm only continues to grow and merits a stroll from top to bottom, and back. Staying in Montmartre, you're steps from hip SoPi, an easy metro or bus ride to the famous flea market at Porte de St-Ouen to the north, and an easy walk downhill toward the bustling Grand Boulevards, Opéra, and Madeleine neighborhoods to the south. The convenient metro will whisk you to any point within the city in no time at all.

The best recommendation I can give is that I have rented this apartment for the past seven or eight years. It is always exactly as I remembered.

Madeleine F. March, 2017 USA

I cannot tell you how much I appreciated the opportunity to stay at your Sacré Cœur penthouse apartment last week. The apartment is impeccably kept, and the spring flowers and bottle of wine were certainly a nice touch. My colleague and I were very comfortable and enjoyed the view and the neighborhood. Florence, who handled our arrival, was very responsive and prompt as well as being thorough with her walk-through and eager to be of help. Jean was kind enough to meet me before dawn for my check-out and even generously helped me with my suitcase which was loaded with heavy French goods to tide me over until my next trip.

Nina L. August, 2016 Seattle, Washington

Sacre Coeur Penthouse is a unique property. It truly felt like a Haven in Paris. My husband and I immensely enjoyed our stay. An unfortunate event (sprained my ankle) made me even more grateful for the peaceful and lovely atmosphere of our penthouse apartment. I had to spend a day with my leg elevated, unable to walk; however thoroughly appreciated the comfort provided by SCP – large windows, fantastic view of Sacre Coeur and all the amenities of home. I highly recommend this property!

Anne Barr July, 2016 Philadelphia

I loved the property and the neighborhood around it. Some Americans may be put off by the urban environment, but it is very similar to our neighborhood in Philadelphia. We loved it and felt very comfortable. I honestly thought that, given what we paid, the apartment was an exceptional value.

Anne B. July, 2016 Philadelphia, PA

My daughter and I loved our stay here at the Sacre Coeur Penthouse. This was a very special trip for us as we were celebrating my daughter's graduation from secondary school. Neither of us had been to Paris before and we hope to return someday and perhaps stay here again. Every person we met in France was so nice and truly helpful to us. I got to try out some of the French I learned long ago in secondary school and people were very encouraging as I did. We highly recommend Sacree Fleur, which we read about on a previous page of the guestbook. The woman at Le Grenier a Pain began to recognize me and we bought a beautiful painting from Raphael Narimani. Also, Florance was a wonderful greeter, who was warm and prompt in all of her interactions with us. This has been a truly wonderful experience.

Joanna Bisgrove June, 2016 Fitchburg, WI USA

We had an absolutely AMAZING time in Paris, and the Sacre Coeur penthouse was certainly a part of that. The view out the window of Sacre Couer just never gets old, and I just could not stop taking pictures! I will admit a concern was being in a non-air conditioned apartment on the top floor, but the large windows and high ceilings helped keep the apartment cool and comfortable. The location is also stellar, as Montmartre and the area immediately around Sacre Couer is lots of fun with lots of great little restaurants. Also, we were in town for EuroCup 2016, and being away from the more crowded areas certainly helped keep the experience more Parisian than touristy. I will say this, though: Montmartre is not for anyone who has trouble walking. The nearest metro stop, Anvers, is close but completely downhill, and then completely uphill to get back to the apartment. Both my husband and I are in pretty decent shape, and we certainly got a workout from all of the walking and uphill/downhill we did through the week.

Tori Stapleton May, 2016 Concord, NC USA

The Sacre Coeur Penthouse is an ideal place to stay! It is conveniently located near the metro (2, Anvers) there is a grocery store walking distance, and countless places to eat. The penthouse is very cozy with a small kitchen with a washer and dryer. Our greeter, Raphaella, was able to meet us before check in, so we could drop our bags off and give us a quick tour. The only thing I would recommend is that the bed, sleeping pillows and couch be updated. The bed was very stiff and the pillows were flat, the couch looked like it had been there for quite some time. Regardless, we can't wait to go back and stay at another Haven in Paris property! Note from Haven in Paris: We are looking into the bed and couch, we take these comments very seriously.

Wayne April, 2016 Amherst, NH

The best recommendation I can give is that I have rented this apartment every year for the past six or seven years. The first year it far exceeded my expectations. Now, I know how great it is and it always is as I remember it.

Keith & Emma November, 2015 Rockford, Illinois

Had an excellent week in Paris! Beautiful sights, great food, and lots of wine. Looking forward to coming back sometime!

The Bourbonnais Family October, 2015 Vancouver, BC

We had an amazing time exploring Montmartre's living neighborhood. We were not sure what to expect and were very pleasantly surprised. It is truly a unique little area with so much hustle and bustle and vibrancy. We loved our stay very much. It is a wonderful spot! Thank you for sharing! We hope to be back again as we ran out of time. There is never enough time. Till then, au revoir. PS Thank you, Raffaella, for all your tips at the beginning of our stay.

Janyl J July, 2015 Michigan, USA

This apartment is charming, bright, and beautiful. The space is maximized throughout the apartment and we loved all the storage and closet options. The flowers, coffee, and wine were a wonderful treat to have upon arrival. The sunrise was absolutely stunning every morning. Our Paris vacation was made all the more romantic by having this apartment to come home to every day.

Nicole Miles June, 2015 Washington, DC

My boyfriend (now fiancé) planned a surprise trip to Paris, and for our accommodations, he selected the Sacre Couer Penthouse through Haven in Paris. To say we enjoyed ourselves would be an understatement. The apartment was just as it was pictured in photos, and the neighborhood was fantastic. We could journey through any street and find a market, shop or bistro to grab a quick bite to eat or to enjoy some wine. Our host was also very kind and helpful. We couldn't have asked for a better place. Would recommend this apartment for any couple looking for a quiet getaway in a lively neighborhood.

Suzanne Huwe June, 2015 Malta, NY, USA

I highly recommend the Sacre Coeur penthouse. It's adorable, affordable, chic, and conveniently located near great shops, cafes, restaurants, and attractions. As for the HiP Paris blog, it was my go-to for where and what to eat and drink, where to shop, and what to see and do. Every restaurant the HiP staff recommends is fabulous! We didn't have one bad meal. More importantly, the staff is extremely professional and attentive. Our entire stay went off without a hitch. My husband and I could not have been happier. Keep up the amazing work, ladies! I hope to rent from you again real soon.

Janine & Bob May, 2015 North Carolina, USA

This was our third time to stay in the Sacre Coeur Penthouse and we have gotten to know our greeter, Raffaella :) The "penthouse" is a great location and the view of the church can't be beat! David picked us up at the airport and was both professional and very cordial. We won't hesitate to contact Haven in Paris in planning future trips!

Evie & Joseph M. May, 2015 Virginia Beach, Virginia

We loved this place sooo much! C'est magnifique! This is our 3rd time here. We would stay no other place. Everything in the hood was so fun. Truly our favorite place in Paris. And Raffaella is great - so very helpful. Merci beaucoup Raffaella & Haven in Paris! Now we have to leave, quel dommage!

Wayne April, 2015 Amherst, HN

This is the fifth or sixth year I have rented the same apartment. The first year I said it far exceeded my expectations. I can't say that any more since I know exactly what the apartment is like. However, a new renter will probably be surprised by how nice it is.

James & Jennifer R March, 2015 Rockport, Maine

Montmartre is a very special area of Paris and the Sacre Coeur Penthouse is a very special place to stay. The apartment is well equipped, well maintained and very comfortable. The entire rental process with HIP was very well done. We will look forward to returning to this and other HIP apartments in the future!

Renee M December, 2014 LONG BEACH

Haven in Paris is a great company to work with to rent a property for a vacation. Our view of the Basilica was just amazing. The charming streets to the left of the Basilica were wonderful and the food excellent. Our greeter Rafaela was very helpful and just a phone call away if needed. They really did provide everything in the apartment, so when we cooked we had everything we needed.

Anonymous November, 2014 Asheville, North Carolina

My daughter has married a Parisian and lives in Paris. I have now visited her twice in the past year and both times have found that working with Haven in Paris has been a pleasure. They are very responsive and professional. Their accommodation descriptions are very accurate, no disappointments. While in Paris it is a comfort to have a personal contact. I can recommend booking with Haven in Paris without hesitation.

Wilbur Kim July, 2014 Arlington, MA USA

Team and greeter worked to arrange early check-in since we arrived on overnight flight. Much appreciation to Rafa and Vincent for making this happen.

Mitch H. July, 2014 Evergreen, Colorado

If you ever want to sell this apartment, let me know! We loved our stay.

Christina F June, 2014 Adelaide, Australia

We were very happy with the Sacre Coeur Penthouse apartment in Montmartre. It was great. The greeter Raffaella was fantastic and the flat was very clean. We would definitely recommended it!

Janine & Bob May, 2014 Biltmore Lake, NC

We loved the "Penthouse" it had a wonderful location and was very accommodating. We very impressed with Haven in Paris. You were very attentive from the beginning and always demonstrated your commitment to the needs of your resident guests. The website describing the apartment gave a clear picture of what to expect including listing all the amenities so seeing it for the first time was not a disappointment. We found it to be very accommodating and the booklet gave helpful information. This was our first time renting an apt in Paris and the thorough preparation on the part of HIP made it very enjoyable. It was as if you knew everything a first time renter would need! Our greeter Rafaella was very personable. She welcomed us (as expected) with a bottle of wine and a lovely bouquet of roses! The weekly cleaning service was also a plus. Vincent did an excellent job-no complaints! I guess the best compliment I can give you is that the next time I visit Paris which will probably been in the near future I would absolutely rent the Sacre Coeur Penthouse again!!!

Wayne April, 2014 Amherst, NH

This is my fifth year renting the same apartment. There can't be a much better recommendation than that.

Kelly March, 2014 San Mateo, CA

A huge thank you to the Haven in Paris team. My husband and I had a wonderful stay in the Sacre Coeur Penthouse and the experience exceeded our expectations. This was our first return to Paris in about 12 years, and the first time we rented an apartment. While planning the trip, researching the options for vacation rentals was quite overwhelming. We were delighted to find the Haven in Paris website. From start to finish, the Haven in Paris team made the experience simple, easy and memorable. The Sacre Coeur Penthouse is bright and lovely. As others have noted, the building is quite charming, and the views beautiful. The apartment is well appointed - everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The Montmartre neighborhood is vibrant and serves as a great “home base”. We particularly enjoyed walking to the nearby Rue de Abbesses (Le Village and Le Grenier a Pain were favorites!). Again, many thanks to everyone on the Haven in Paris team.

Kristen N. February, 2014 Minneapolis

Paris was just what we wanted and even more wonderful than we expected - can't wait to see this adorable apartment again soon.

Harold January, 2014 NYC

My girlfriend and I had a marvelous trip. It was good despite the rain and the loss of her suitcase. British Airways remained agnostic on the whereabouts of the bag. They seemed unsure whether or not it would ever be returned to us. The greeter of HIP, Ms. Loredana, was gracious in the extreme. She offered help with recovering our suitcase. She was flexible about our late arrival from the airport, a delay caused by high winds and then the search for the suitcase. We settled down 60 hours later, when the bag was finally recovered. Then we fully enjoyed the Montmartre neighborhood and our gorgeous penthouse apartment. The layout of the place makes it twice its actual size. It's really a two-room penthouse. The decor is extremely tasteful and well-chosen. All in all, my hat is off to Haven in Paris.

Rania E. November, 2013 Cairo, Egypt

I would like to extend my thanks to all of you. You made my stay a very enjoyable one. Everything was excellent. The studio is done in a very comfortable and cute way. The view is lovely. The greeting lady, dear Raffaella, is adorable. The apartment is clean and everything needed is there. I just wish I could have stayed more.

Chris Cote October, 2013 CALGARY

The apartment was our home away from home on our stay in Paris. We traveled on the Metro all around the city to different spots we wanted to see. We began to feel that this area was home, and enjoyed the many restaurants and shops just a block or two away. We felt that we had a true Paris experience!

Trish October, 2013 Northcote, Victoria, Australia

The Sacre Coeur is an adorable little studio in Montmartre. It’s a few metro stops away from the centre of Paris but this is by no means a disadvantage. As much as staying in the heart of Paris is a wonderful experience, Montmartre has its own very unique feel – a little bohemian, a little flamboyant, diverse and colourful. And yet once inside the apartment, all is calm and quiet. And immaculate. I can’t sing HiP’s praises highly enough – professional, friendly, efficient and attentive to every detail – nothing was too much trouble.

Tanis Alexander Grice August, 2013 Los Angeles, California

The Sacre Coeur Penthouse is a perfect little apartment tucked away in the 18th arr. It was easy to find, and in a great location (especially for those of us who want to avoid the densely packed tourist areas). The apartment is very large, full of huge windows that let lots of sunlight in, has great views, and is perfectly comfortable for 2 people. My husband and I spent a week here and we couldnt have asked for a better place to call home for our trip to Paris. The amenities were wonderful (washer/dryer, wifi, a full kitchen, a bottle of wine, fresh flowers, elevator, blow dryer, etc) and everyone we communicated with/met from the Haven in Paris team were wonderfully friendly. I cannot recommend Haven in Paris or the Sacre Coeur Penthouse enough!

Jenny V. August, 2013 Apex, North Carolina, USA

My daughter and I had a wonderful stay in the Sacre Coeur Penthouse! The apartment is exactly as pictured on the Haven In Paris website. It is a charming Paris apartment, filled with natural light from the large windows with breathtaking views of the Sacre Coeur cathedral and charming Montmartre rooftops. Well appointed with modern appliances and amenities; we had everything we could possibly need for our week in Paris. The location is great; nestled among numerous cafes, shops, markets, etc. if you choose to stay in town, yet close to two Metro stations when you're ready to head out to explore more of Paris. We saw all of Paris' most famous sites during our stay, but we still feel that the view of Sacre Coeur from our penthouse window (day or night) is just as spectacular!

Sarah B. August, 2013 Ottowa, Ontario

This trip was a last minute change of plans, but I think it was really meant to be. Two glorious weeks of exploring Paris from a beautiful home base in an amazing neighborhood. Word to the movie-lovers: Cinema Louxor is just down the street (170 Boulevard de Magenta, across from the Barbes Rochechouart Metro) and their main screening room is amazingly well restored 1920s Egyptian Revival Theater- with 2 balconies! (There's just something so old-school about a movie theater balcony)

Carol & Sebastian G. July, 2013 Pasadena, CA

We are leaving early in the morning tomorrow. We will miss this beautiful apartment and Paris. More importantly, the memories we made on this trip will last a lifetime. My son Sebastian and I celebrated his 14th Birthday on Bastille Day- his "Golden Birthday" - 14 on the 14th day. We watched the parade, climbed the Eiffel Tower, and watched fireworks from the Sacre Coeur. So fun! Thank you for sharing this great space. - Carol I really liked this place, it had a great view, it was close to some really delicious restaurants and bakeries and ice cream shops, and it is a good way to experience living in Paris. It is also a good place to crash after a long day in Paris. I also loved the elevator, very retro. It was fun living in a real apartment. - Sebastian

Lisa June, 2013 Urbana, Illinois, USA

From the first inquiry to the day my friends and I checked out, the team at Haven in Paris have been prompt, helpful, and simply great to deal with. The apartment itself was exactly as we imagined it would be - a cute space with great view and great amenities in a fantastic part of the city. The view of the Sacré Coeur from our windows was breathtaking and watching the sun set over the church was one of the best memories we'll take home from our trip. The bed and sofa bed provided were both of the highest calibre in terms of comfort and we especially appreciated the well equipped kitchen and laundry facilities. Not only was the apartment clean and well turned out on our arrival, it was easy to keep clean thanks to the wood and tile flooring and induction stove top. In terms of location and getting around in Paris, the apartment is neatly situated near two metro stops which made travel an absolute breeze. Both our greeter and the gentleman who came to check us out of the apartment were friendly and helpful and the fresh flowers and complimentary bottle of wine were a nice welcoming touch. Our only complaints about this property pertain to the wifi connection which seemed to resist supporting more than one or two devices at a time and required frequent resetting, and a break down of the building's hot water supply our last two days in the city. With regards to the internet connection, it's possible that my friends and I, being tech junkies, simply had too many devices - two laptops in addition to the loaner computer included with the rental and three smart phones - for the neufbox to handle, but it did make certain activities during our quiet evenings a little more difficult. Likewise, the hot water issue was building-wide and out of Haven's control and there were notices posted throughout letting us know that it had been reported and was being taken care of. So, all in all, a great experience in Paris! Note from Haven in Paris: We are so glad you had such a wonderful stay. Thank you for letting us know about the issues with the Internet. I do think that you possibly did have too many devices going at once for the network. We are sorry for the inconvenience! As to the hot water, again we are sorry for the hassle. Some things, as you rightly imagined, are out of our control. We are happy it did not last too long and was not too disruptive.

Zeyba Rahman May, 2013 New York, NY

The whole process from start to finish was seamless. I reserved the place I liked and the HIP team was with me every step of the way to help complete all the steps to finalize the reservation. Raffaela was great as were the cleaners Desmond and Vincent. The apartment is a little jewel and the area, Montmartre, lovely. It made my stay in Paris completely enjoyable. Thank you, Zeyba

Jennifer E. May, 2013 Kansas City, MO, USA

My mother and I came to Paris (for the first time) for Mother's Day. This trip was awesome! The hotel we were originally were looking at couldn't have held a candle to the experience we've had in this apartment. Paris was stunning!

Wayne April, 2013 Amherst, NH

I think this is the fifth time I have rented this apartment. It only took once to know I want to keep on returning. A great apartment in a fantastic location. Perfect for one or two people.

SD April, 2013 Manhattan, NY USA

The HIP staff were courteous and responded very quickly to our inquiry concerning availability of the apartment. The booking process was simple and efficient, and the HIP staff--including the local greeter--provided comprehensive information on the apartment and the surrounding area prior to our arrival in Paris. Upon our arrival, the greeter was quite gracious and provided detailed information on how to use the kitchen appliances, phone, and other amenities in the apartment. We found the flat and its location to be just as charming as it appeared in the pictures online. The space was very clean, comfortable, and well-appointed with the bonus of a breathtaking view. Our accommodations were absolutely one of the highlights of our sojourn in Paris.

Amy & Bill L. March, 2013 Bath, Maine USA

Dear HIP team, We had a great trip. The person who greeted us (Rafaella) was friendly and helpful. She was still finishing hanging some new curtains and so forth when we arrived so things weren't 100% ready but it wasn't more than 5 minutes or so of a wait. The apartment was very clean and tidy. Roger, the gentleman who met us at checkout, was especially helpful in arranging a taxi for us - there had been some snow and the taxi lines were all busy so we couldn't get through to anyone on our own. The people in the apartment building were very friendly - based on the cautionary notes in the rental materials I was prepared for possibly resentful neighbors but that was not the case at all. The concierge was as friendly as could be whenever we saw her. The restaurant recommendations were great - we ate at several of the places Erica suggested and had wonderful experiences at all of them. Some of those were places we'd have never found on our own. We were traveling with our 12 year old son so it was terrific to have a little extra room for the three of us to spread out at the end of the day. Navigating around the sofa bed at night was tricky but worth it to have the space during the day. We would definitely recommend a stay in this apartment or any apartment through HIP. This was our first time staying in an apartment in Paris instead of a hotel and I was a little nervous about being as it was represented. Communications and responses were quick, complete and "human." It was terrific.

Wendy W. February, 2013 New York, NY, USA

This studio helped make our 2-week stay in Paris a wonderful one! We woke up to a beautiful view of the Sacre-Coeur daily and were just a 10-minute walk from some amazing bread, cheese, meat, and wine shops—everything you need to make a great meal at home. I would definitely stay here again!

Anonymous January, 2013 Vancouver, Canada

We had a fabulous time in Paris and I think our stay in the apartment was a big part of it. Both greeters were very friendly and on time. When we got held up in traffic from airport to apartment, our driver (HiP-recommended Laurent Baudry) and Raffaella coordinated by phone. It worked out great. I would recommend Laurent's service. RER went on strike on our departure day so I was very glad to have hired Laurent. He is an excellent and safe driver, and friendly and professional. We were very happy with the apartment's cleanliness and to have all the cleaning supplies. Thank you. We will look to HiP for future vacations!

Marsha D. December, 2012 Seattle, WA, USA

I am safely home in Seattle now! I enjoyed the flat!!! It was just perfect for me!! I never heard noise, which is very important to me. The fact that most of the businesses close in the evening makes the neighborhood quiet. Hopefully, my business will pick up and I will be able to return in late spring or early summer! Merci again for your professionalism!

Amanda & Kenney Miller November, 2012 Chicago, IL USA

We celebrated our honeymoon at the Rue Livingstone apartment in Montmartre in November of 2007, and we were back November 2012 to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary in the city of love, and in the Paris apartment we fell in love with on our first trip here! HIP has been just as wonderful to work with as they were last time- Roger was very accommodating and check-in was a breeze! We love all that everything needed for our stay in the apartment was provided- trash bags, glasses & dishes, utensils, a fully equipped kitchen, bed linens, extra blankets, towels, a hair dryer, etc. After having books an apartment in London through another company that only provided sheets and pillows, we have a true appreciation for the thought and care the HIP crew puts into their properties to ensure every convenience has been provided. We loved shopping at the neighborhood grocery stores, the magnificent view of the Sacre Coeur at night, and living like a Parisian for the week! We also took the Baking class from CooknWithClass, as recommended on the HIP website, and it was fantastic (Briony taught the class) and we HIGHLY recommend it! We also used a car service recommended on the site, and Laurent was such a pleasure- our luggage took forever to pick up at the airport, and he wait for us and was very pleasant and understanding as he drove us to Montmartre.

Bonnie & Bruce C. September, 2012 New York, NY, USA

The Sacre Couer flat is absolutely charming and was beyond our expectations! The dream trip to Paris and celebration of our 20th wedding anniversary could not have been more perfect, beginning with friendly Jonathan, our driver, who was more than helpful with our bags and full of history of the areas to visit. Roger was FANTASTIC! He was so hospitable, friendly, enthusiastic and because of him we felt completely at home in our lovely flat, which is in the middle of what is now our favorite area! We've been running with excitement and simply in awe of this incredible city! Please know we will be bragging about HiP and all that we have experienced so far...we intend on returning as often as possible, as its just been a dream ;) Thank you so very much and we'll happily recommend!

Nimmi S. September, 2012 Portland, OR, USA

We had an amazing time and have been missing our little Parisian apartment since we've been back! Our greeter was wonderful as well as the gentleman who did our check out. We were impressed with all of the info that was left for us as well as the nice touches that were beyond our expectations - such as the bottle of wine and flowers - and most especially, the coffee! The apartment was also cleaned very well. You did a great job too upfront of letting us know what to expect with being in an old apartment building, so there were absolutely no surprises when we got there. We are already dreaming about our next trip and would definitely rent another HiP apartment as well as encourage our friends to do the same. Thank you all for everything. You were truly a big part in making this such a magical trip for us!

Ted & Beryl L. September, 2012 Queensland, Australia

Thank you for your welcome and we can truthfully say that we are very comfortable in the Sacre Coeur Penthouse - it's wonderful to have such a lovely 'home' to come back to after a hard day's sightseeing. Although we have visited Paris twice before, we are still finding fresh places and things to visit - and the camera is running hot. On our arrival Roger was most helpful and was careful to make sure that we knew all that we needed to know about the apartment, and we thank you for the flower arrangement and the bottle of excellent wine; both very enjoyable. As for the view of the Sacre Coeur, what can one say? It looks different with every change of light and is a beautiful edifice to look out upon at night and in the morning.

Bob September, 2012 Australia

Our stay in Paris turned out to be everything we expected, and more. The apartment was the foundation stone for our stay in Paris and it proved to be wonderful. To come back to your own space at the end of a long day is invaluable. It was a quiet space in a building inhabited by permanent residents. Wonderful! Our only criticism was of the actual neighbourhood. It wasn't quite what we expected from a services standpoint, especially when compared to the alternatives available. But you can't really complain about the view, sensational!

Caren A. & Karen J. May, 2012 Peterborough, Ontario, CA

Thank you for a wonderful stay. Sacre Coeur Penthouse is such a beautiful oasis in a bustling city. We enjoyed the Boulangerie Clignancourt, try their Pain Traditional, YUMMY! This was both of our first time in Paris and we have made lots of wonderful memories. Make sure to check out the Musee d'Orsay, much better than the Louvre, and no pushing! Don't be afraid to get yourself lost in the gorgeous city, serendipity is kind here. We had good luck eating and Marmite Cafe has delicious desserts and coffee. Take the trip out to Giverny, was absolutely worth the drive. Also, if you want to find unique souvenirs, take a trip out to the Sunday flea market Marce aux Puces de Vanves, some really interesting stuff. And of course, go up the stairs to Sacre Coeur. It was worth the hike up to the top! The metro really was the best way to get around, totally worth a Visite Paris Pass! Thanks again.

Jeanette & Rob D. May, 2012 Brooklyn, NY, USA

We just had a wonderful week in the Sacre Coeur Penthouse, celebrating my birthday & our belated honeymoon. We have simply fallen in love with this neighborhood and hope to stay in this studio in years to come. For all staying here, be sure to venture over the area surrounding the Abbesses metro right away for great shops, restaurants and quaint walks. So sad to be leaving Montmartre. We will return. Thank you.

Wayne Cardoza April, 2012 Amherst, NH

This is the third time I have rented the Livingstone apartment. I will continue to return. A wonderful location and an apartment perfect for one or two people.

Joanna and Arnold February, 2012 Sydney, Australia

We have had a wonderful stay here and after two weeks almost feel like locals. We have had everything we needed in this cosy apartment and have loved walking up to this view every day. It has been a joy being in Paris and organizing this apartment through Haven in Paris has made it so easy. We will definitely do it again the next time we come to Paris.

Sherrelle Kirkland-Andrews December, 2011 Atlanta, GA USA

Our greeter was great. The apartment was nice overall. I do wish the bed was more comfortable...It was a "nice futon", not a true mattress, and by the morning it was rather hard. Paris in December was magical with all the decorations and lights! It rained pretty much everyday, but we expected that. Vin chaud is our new favorite drink! Note from Haven in Paris: The mattress is indeed a real queen sized mattress. It is firm, but it is not a futon.

Marjorie December, 2011 New York

What could be said about the lovely people at HIP that hasn't already been said? Are words even enough? My experience with Haven in Paris has been nothing short of STELLAR from the first inquiry email all the way up until I was in the G7 Taxi, leaving the Sacre Coeur Penthouse studio behind. I always wanted to travel to Paris, something about it moves my soul but I wasn't planning on visiting until the summer. That was until I seen a review on Haven in Paris on one of my favorite lifestyle blogs, OhHappyDay! I thought it would be worth a shot to look at the calendar and reach out to Haven in Paris to see if they had any rentals on the alloted dates needed. The response and service I received was top notch, always quick, always informative. After quite a few emails, it was decided that the best thing for a single mother and her 5 year old would be the Sacre Coeur Penthouse studio. Going into this, I knew that I didn't want to visit Paris as a "tourist", so to speak. I wanted to the full experience, an experience that couldn't be obtained from staying in a hotel night after night. The Sacre Coeur Penthouse was an amazing choice! Sacre Coeur is literally right outside of you window! Every morning and evening, my daughter and I would enjoy breakfast and supper with the windows wide open, so to enjoy the magnificent view. The space was open and flooded with natural lighting, a photographer's dream! Right under Sacre Coeur is a gratuit Merry-Go-Round that my daughter and I couldn't get enough of. An elderly man went as far as to chase me up Place Saint-Pierre to inform me that I should take my daughter to the Merry-Go-Round, and this is how I will remember Paris until I go back, the people, friendly, welcoming and ready to help you. Everything you need is within walking distance from the apartment. There's a very nice supermarket located on Rue de Clignancourt, the name escapes me but that's where I did our shopping for our stay. The apartment was fully equipped with all the utensils to make you feel as if you are at home. I actually and very foolishly bought items that I did not need because I didn't take the time to check the cupboards, zut alors! All in all, the apartment far exceeded my expectations. I would stay there every single time I go out to Paris but I do want to try out other arrondissements when I return. After my stay, I'm happy to say that I'm seriously contemplating my move to Paris and I think that staying at the beautiful Sacre Coeur Penthouse is a huge factor for this. It opened my eyes up to how lovely you can live in Paris. I miss it all! The Sacre Coeur Penthouse is more of a family complex! So I was sure to not make much noise when we were going and coming and the elevator is very vintage which I loved with caution. Also, the "best bakery in Paris" is located on 38 Rue Abbesses. Le Grenier a Pain, much thanks to my marvelous greeter, Raffaella for informing me of it. Unless you have a huge group, Livingstone may be exactly what you're looking for! Haven in Paris is the way to go!!

Christina and Sophie December, 2011 Stockholm, Sweden

Thank you for the lovely stay at the Sacre Coeur Penthouse. The apartment was everything we wished for and more. The week went by very fast but we managed to see alot of things, and shop a lot. Our tips for shopping is Marais (3/4th arrdt and rue Vieille du Temple). For a fantastic bar with hip Parids alternative scene, go to the bar 'le Progres' (Marais) or the bar 'Çomptior' (Quai de Jemmapes). Great restaurants included le China near Opera Bastille with an interior design taken from a cool 40's spy film. Have a macaron at La Durée (expensive but worth it). We also recommend le Musée DÓrsay and the Centre Ponpidou for great art.

Anne Collins November, 2011 Ireland

We were so impressed with the service - hassle free, wonderful greeter (Raffaella), nothing was any problem, and everything turned out to be exactly as advertised. Can't recommend Haven in Paris highly enough. We'll be back again next year and wouldn't consider using anyone else. Many thanks guys. You were great.

Vivienne November, 2011 Boston, MA, USA

I have been back for less than a week and I am already planning my next trip to Paris, and I will definitely be using Haven in Paris on my next visit. The apartment was beautiful! Our greeters, Loana and Raffaella were great! They were warm and friendly and easy to talk to and get a hold of when I needed to. We loved coming home to the apartment, it made us feel like we were part of the village of Montmartre. It was nice to have a place to call home that truly was a Haven. The greeters were very helpful with regard to easing our early check in and our extremely early checkout upon departure.

Vivienne and Charmain November, 2011 UK

Thank you for the lovely stay at the Sacre Coeur penthouse. We loved how close we were to everything, including the train, and our wonderful view Sacre Coeur. After a long day of sightseeing it was wonderful to be able to come here and feel like it truly was a haven! We will be back andh opefully we will be bringing others with us. Thank you so much to Raffaella, Ioana and Gregory!

Larry and Ann October, 2011 Boston, Mass.

Thank you for sharing your Paris home with us. We fell in love with Paris, Montmartre, and your home. Every comfort was found within the spacious Sacre Coeur penthouse, some of which was new to us, such as the induction stove. We shall return, and hopefully our children will be with us! Our 12 nights in your studio will remain a favorite memory for the both of us. It also comforting to know that when we return to Lexington we will be able to find many of the wonder wines, foods and gifts we discovered in Paris at Berman's Fine Wines. Be sure to try the restaurant Áu Village Lepic' on rue Lepic. A 12 minute walk from the studio, and try the fabulous desserts. It is loved by the locals, and the creme brulée is the best we have ever had! With our thanks to you, Raffaella and Vincent.

Jane C. September, 2011 London/UK

I just wanted to say, what an amazing apartment and views - so romantic. We loved it. I could not recommend it enough to people. Just perfect and Raffaella was extremely helpful and friendly.

Madeleine Richard August, 2011 Australia

The follow-up during our stay was vigilant and pleasant, and help available as needed. The studio was lovely and well situated in an area that is touristy yet still has the genuine feeling and charm of a working neighbourhood. I would recommend it to anyone.

Katrina and Jay August, 2011 USA

Bonjour future the Sacre Coeur Penthouse residents. Welcome to a great home away from home. This was our first visit to Paris. Explore it all and find what you love!

M. Richard August, 2011 Crookwell/Australia

Sixteen days in Paris isn't enough; I reckon sixteen years is truly what is needed.

David Sullivan April, 2011 new providence, nj USA

HIP accommodated our schedule as the greeter (Raffaella) was waiting for us when we arrived early in the morning and when we departed late in the afternoon. The apartment was better than expected--it was clean, had comfortable bedding, high quality sheets, duvets and linens. We got stuck on the elevator once and HFI (Raffaella) was able to get us "rescued" immediately.

Carrie R. April, 2011 Clifton Park, NY

Thank you so much for making our stay at the Sacre Coeur Penthouse a wonderful one. The location was perfect! We loved "living" in Montmartre for the week...so colorful and lively! The pictures online of Rue Livingstone were spot on. Everything was very clean and the apartment was generously supplied with books on Paris! The best feature in the apartment was access to the internet. We LOVED having that. Our greeter, Raphaella, was pleasant and prompt. I felt I could contact her at any time if we needed to! We really appreciated her early arrival for our very early morning Saturday departure. We will certainly recommend HIP to others, and for our future travels, we would most likely take this route again by renting another apartment. Thanks again for your continued contact and help in regard to the apartment. We look forward to staying in Paris again......

Alicia I April, 2011 Boston, MA

I cannot thank you (all) enough for a wonderful stay! From the incredibly charming the Sacre Coeur Penthouse, with the most incredible view of Sacre Coeur... to my lovely greeter, Rafaella. To the team of Haven in Paris, with stellar attention to detail, making my stay a true pleasure. I look forward to booking with you again (and absolutely in advance the next time) to fully enjoy all the comforts of your homey flats for a much longer stay! Thank you *so very much* for making my stay a breeze and a true joy to remember. You are truly the best!!

Cletta Henry April, 2011 Saint John, NB, Canada

We *just* arrived home from our week at the the Sacre Coeur Penthouse. Everything was incredible, the neighbourhood and the atmosphere, the building and apartment are extremely charming, clean, well-situated and close to plenty of places to eat, drink, shop, and to just wander the streets. We felt very safe the entire time we were there, and the apartment was a great spot to come home to every night after hours of exploring the city. The apartment really felt like "home" to us while we were there. A great spot to cook meals, and talk about a room with a view! I will NEVER forget waking up in the morning, opening the curtains and windows, and just hanging out the window staring at Sacre Coeur. I really can't say enough good things about the HIP team, and our greeter Raffaella. There was a mix-up with our airport transfer this morning when we had to leave, and she helped us book another taxi and stayed with us to make sure we were safely on our way to the airport. I really don't know WHAT we would have done without her help, as my mobile phone doesn't work overseas and we would have been pretty lost without her kind assistance! Thank you so much, Erica, Raffaela, and the rest of the Haven In Paris team, from the bottom of my heart. You helped make my Paris dream a reality. I've only been home for 2 hours and my heart is already aching to return. I look forward to staying with HIP on our return to Paris :)

Carrie & Greg April, 2011 NY, USA

Dear HiP, this was the trip of a lifetime. The Sacre Coeur Penthouse was just the thing to make it complete. The Montmartre neighborhood is lively and so full of charm. It feels like a second home to us now... The apartment had everything we could need and made buying fresh ingredients, baguettes, cheeses, eggs, etc., so easy - everything is so close! We highly recommend Coquelicot's breakfasts and Bol Au Cafe - Tres Grandes!! We also fell in love with Le Marais area - great people watching! Thank you again Haven in Paris - We very much look forward to staying with you again.

Peter & Loretta G. March, 2011 Queensland, Australia

Thank you so much Erica, Raffaella and Haven in Paris! This apartment has been the perfect "home away from home" for our first visit to Paris. We hope to return one day, and will most definitely choose Haven in Paris accommodations again. We loved staying in this neighborhood, such an interesting and colorful art of Paris. And the food! By far the best part of our experience here. Thank you Raffaella, you were a wonderful greeter and made us feel very welcome. Thank you!

Aine C. March, 2011 Berkeley, CA, USA

The apartment could not be more perfect.

Dinah & Jim D. March, 2011 Seattle, WA USA

Bonjour all! this trip was our second trip to Paris and our second stay at the Sacre Coeur Penthouse apartment! The city has it all and then some!

CM December, 2010 USA

Everyone I dealt with through HiP was great. Raphaella was very responsive. Georgina was on time. Taxi driver, Jaques, was early to pick us up and helpful and friendly. The sitter, Cecile, was fabulous in every way: professional, kind toward the children, and she fulfilled all our requests. The view from the apartment is AMAZING. We got spoiled on all our other trips with the views and locations and this apartment definitely did not disappoint there. The Sacre Coeur Penthouse apartment was exactly as described and better than a lot of rentals available at the price point. Plenty of hot water, elevator, view, natural light all day. However, we are accustomed to much more luxurious places. This was a quick budget trip squeezed in between Four Seasons stays so a little hard for our kids to adjust to. For a young couple or someone watching their funds, this is a GREAT value for the money and a very sweet apartment in an interesting neighborhood. And Erica was very accommodating for this last minute stay.

Julia N. December, 2010 Los Angeles, CA USA

Thank you so much for all of your assistance - we had an absolutely wonderful time in Paris and loved staying at the Sacre Coeur Penthouse apartment! Rafaella (our greeter) could not have been more helpful and friendly - she was just fantastic! We also had a perfect experience with the taxi to the airport - we used Andy Waters - Paris Taxi, and the fare was only 40 Euros from the apt. to CDG. Even though the washing machine was not usable, it did not cause a problem because Rafaella very kindly took our laundry for cleaning - we had packed very lightly in expectation of being able to use the washer and dryer, so her help was very much appreciated! The apartment was very clean and comfortable, and the heat, water, phone and internet connections all worked perfectly. There was one day when the phone wouldn't dial to the U.S., but Rafaella took care of that immediately. We can't comment on the TV or cable because we didn't watch it (we're not big TV people), but Rafaella did show us how to use it when she showed us around the apartment. She was very thorough and clear showing us everything. Thank you again, so much - we have already recommended Haven in Paris to three friends who are planning to visit Paris in the spring/summer!

Christine M. December, 2010 Medina, WA USA

Thank you for sharing your sweet apartment with us. We appreciate that you were able to squeeze us in on the short notice. Raffaella was very kind towards us as well.

Denise F November, 2010 LA, CA USA

My stay with HIP was most enjoyable! The greeter Raffaella was truly charming & thorough. My driver David was fantastic as well. Thank you HIP for an absolutely fabulous view! The Sacre Coeur Penthouse flat was the perfect home away from home for my family and I. Honestly I can't say that there was anything that could be done to improve my stay, as it was above and beyond what I expected! I will definitely be a returning customer as I will most certainly recommend HIP to everyone I know.

Michael & Paulette McCarthy October, 2010 Stuart, Fl.USA

David our driver was outstanding. I would recommend spending the extra money for his service. He was charming and although his English was limited it did not stop him from conversing with us. We managed to make each other understood and it was fun doing it. Our greeter was also outstanding. Very helpful. We go there early and they let us leave our bags and stop by during the day to leave our purchases. When we returned it was spotless. We were initially concerned about district 18 but it turned out to be great. So diverse. The higher you went on the butte the more affluent it became. Very interesting. We loved our apartment and we will definitly use you again. I might suggest they spend a few euros and replace the mirror in the living room.

Therese Simon October, 2010 Washington, DC, USA

The apartment was the penthouse on the 7th etage (8th floor). The elevator was out and I was placed in another (superior) apartment at no extra expense 5 of the 7 days I stayed. However, my last 2 days were in this apartment and the elevator was not working as was promised by the elevator company. As this was out of HIP's control, I do not hold them responsible. The view was outstanding but the walk up th e8 flights was a lot because I have arthritis in my knees.

Natalie September, 2010 Australia

The Sacre Coeur Penthouse Apartment in Montmartre was fabulous - we spent the mornings bathing in the sunlight pouring through the windows, reading the papers and eating breakfast, and gazing out at the street life of Montmartre's garment district - fascinating! It was an excellent base from which to explore Paris. Didier, our greeter, was exceptional, there are really no words to describe his service, he is a star.

Tania W. September, 2010 Ottawa, Canada

Thanks so much for a great stay. I was in Paris over 20 years ago as an aupair and it was nice to show if off to my husband now, who saw it for the first time. the apartment was perfect for relaxing - it allowed us to feel at home while we ware away from home.

M. Martin August, 2010 Bucharest, Romania

I will definitely recommend this apartment to other friends and I have already talked about your website with some of them. I have decided to come back to the Sacre Coeur Penthouse, especially out of season. My son was very happy with the place, it is friendly and full of light and spacious enough for a very energetic 10 years old little guy. Also, the computer was a major plus from his side :) I have plans to come back. Thank you very much for all your support, you made my stay a very pleasant experience.

Alexandra Abikzer July, 2010 New York/NY/USA

Esme Sachs June, 2010 Burlington, Ontario, Canada

From the moment we booked the Sacre Coeur Penthouse, back in February, till the day our trip concluded last week, Haven in Paris has been wonderful! The apartment is well-equipped with everything you need for a comfy stay, the location is fabulous, and the team works flawlessly from start to finish. They keep in touch all along the process, and make it absolutely easy. We loved the Sacre Coeur Penthouse even more than we expected to...and to top it off, as a fabric junkie I was dumbfounded to find that the apartment is smack-dab in the midst of the textile district! Our greeter, Didier, was so charming & helpful, and there is lots of info & guide books provided in the apartment to supplement your own research. David & I can enthusiastically say that if you are considering a trip to Paris, and you are of an independent & exploring nature, think of Haven in Paris. You will really feel you are living in Paris!

Lindsay & Tony H. May, 2010 Ontario, Canada

We had a wonderful time in Paris! We have many wonderful memories of the Sacre Coeur Penthouse apartment & Montmartre. Dider was very helpful to us upon our arrival.

Wayne April, 2010 Amherst, NH

This was my second stay at the Sacre Coeur Penthouse. It won't be my last. Everything was exactly as I remembered and again, I feel the apartment exceeds the high expectations set by your very accurate web description.

Cynthia Weese April, 2010 Chicago IL

I've rented this apartment twice before (along with a number of other HIP apartments) and love it for the space and light - and the excellent kitchen! Everyone has always been extremely helpful - this time however their help exceeded best expectations - we were in Paris during the time of the Icelandic volcanic eruptions - our stay was extended by 8 days due to two cancelled flights to Chicago - an anxious time for tens of thousands - fortunately for us we were able to stay on in the partment since others couldn't fly in to Paris - however before this became known Didier had found a good hotel in central Paris for us which could accommodate us for an unknown length of time. He and Erica were both extremely helpful and sympathetic as we struggled through the unknowns of whether and when a flight would be cancelled. Their help throughout made what could have been a disaster into an opportunity to explore more of the city and come back at night and cook dinner. More about the apartment - Didier couldn't have been more welcoming - when we arrived coffee and jam were in the refrigerator and cheese and fresh bread were on the table! The kitchen is well-equipped and spacious - we have entertained friends several times. And of course it's very useful to have a washer and dryer. An addition this time in addition to the computer was a television - we enjoyed the European cable networks - and needed up to the minute news on the volcanic cloud and air travel - and we watched with much interest two of the debates between the British candidates for prime minister. Also new was the ability to make unlimited calls for free to the US - very important to us at this time to keep in touch with family and clients and rearrange our schedules! We come to Paris in the sprting of every year - we'll be back next year and will definitely rent a HIP apartment as we've now done at least 10 times!

Michelle Lacy April, 2010 Portland, OR USA

From start to finish HIP was excellent to work with in every way. I really appreciate the four star service from everyone I worked with and plan to rent from HIP again ASAP! Our greeter Didier was beyond excellent (even though we arrived 15 minutes late because our GPS went crazy!) The apt. is quite nice, just exactly as pictured. The location is on the edge of a great area and close to many wonderful restaurants and shops! (Go to Le Jardin d'en Face and Coquelicot - amazing. The Tapas place is great too.) Unfortunately, we would not rent this apt again. Apparently, the steps of Sacre Coeur is where the teens like to hang out and "party". Even with earplugs, we got very little sleep. AND we had to sleep with the windows shut so it was very stuffy. (A major bummer after you have walked the streets of Paris all day.) We learned an important lesson to be very careful WHERE (exactly) to rent an apt. SLEEP is critical to a happy stay. We LOVED HIP and have already recommended them to 2 groups of people. The web site and blogs are great! :-) NOTE from Haven in Paris: We are so sorry you had such a stressful experience with noise. We have been renting this flat for over 12 years now and have only heard of this being a problem a couple of other times. We are sorry it was the case for you. I think the party only takes place once in a while, really!

Sue and Simon March, 2010 Australia

Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your Sacre Coeur Penthouse apartment. You provided us with a beautiful place, we were able to relax more than comfortably and we absolutely loved it. It contained everything we needed and made travelling from so far away a pleasure rather than the drain we had when we stayed in a hotel room the last time! Didier (our greeter)was excellent and we compliment him on his lovely manner and friendliness. Simon and I were so happy with absolutely everything, we would like to return in February 2012! We thank you so much again, Erica, and we really appreciate what you have done to make our holiday the best we have ever had.

Polly J February, 2010 UK

Our time in the Livingstone apartment was fab - everything was as luxury as it could be on our budget; you seem to sustain the luxury and high quality throughout all your properties and don't compromise even on the more affordable and modest properties. We fully appreciate this attention to detail and the personal touches that run throughout your holiday lets - these are things that we feel very strongly about and have been hugely disappointed by the lack of effort and taste in other properties we've stayed in the past.

Kari Geltemeyer February, 2010 New York, NY, USA

I can't say enough good things about Haven in Paris, or your team, or Didier, my greeter. I was thrilled with your service across the board and can't imagine seeing Paris any other way—this trip was a sort of personal triumph for me, and your team was a major part of that. I loved the property, and the guidebook outlined everything in explicit detail. Didier was a big help (and lots of fun, to boot) and gave me great guidance on what to see, as well as which Metro stops would get me there. Likewise the neighborhood restaurant and shopping tips in the guidebook were much appreciated (ditto the recs on your blog), and I made use of them nearly every day, managing to escape the typical tourist fare all along the way, which was my ultimate goal in selecting an apartment service rather than staying in a hotel. What more can I tell you? I loved it, loved it, loved it, and thank you all immensely for contributing to a truly unforgettable experience.

Lilian Lee February, 2010 Los Angeles

I was so happy to see that the apartment lived up to every expectation. It was airy, full of light, and clean -- the perfect Parisian studio. We used the well-stocked kitchen every day and were so glad for the free wifi and unlimited phone calls to the USA. The only things that I can possibly be picky about are the full-length mirror, which had a lot of un-cleanable stains; the rug, which I just rolled up and stored in the closet during my stay; and the dining table, which I think could be of better quality. Of course, these are all minor issues, and I would rent ANY HiP apartment again in a heartbeat. NOTE from HiP: The mirror is a vintage antique and these are not stains but actually just the way the glass aged. The owner is looking for a new table (not an easy feat) that fits into the style of the apartment. Thanks of the suggestions.

Chris January, 2010 Virgin Islands

Had a great time - apartment was great and in a good location.

Katie Mahoney January, 2010 York, UK

I found my stay in the Haven apartment a brilliant experience. The apartment itself was in a fantastic area within easy reach of central Paris but with plenty of bars, resturants and tourists sites right on the dorrstep. The apartment was very clean, had all the mod cons you would expect and was very pretty. When we arrived at the property Didier showed us around so we knew where everything was, how everything worked and had the reassureance that we could contact him with any queries. He even recommened some good restaurants! I would strongly recommend the apartment to anyone visiting Paris.

James Braam January, 2010 Los Angeles, CA USA

Outstanding. I am an architect and well traveled, and I can honestly say this was by far and beyond the best experience we could have imagined. From the very moment we met our greeter Didier, we were taken by the service, charm, and beauty of it all. This is an excellent way to visit the city, but then have a comfortable and stylish home to come back to every evening. Economical, yet first class service. You will love it and the charming neighborhood! We did.

Dr. Lisa Caswell December, 2009 Seattle, Washington USA

We rented the Livingstone penthouse for the last week of our six month global circumnavigation. We could not have chosen a better finale in our favorite city. Despite our late flight, we were met with cheer at the apartment. Check-in was seamless, the bottle of wine much appreciated. The apartment was a true warm haven in the winter gloom of the city, and the views of Sacre Coeur from the windows were stunning. The well-equipped kitchen and washer and dryer allowed us to relax between forays out to our favorite spots. We cannot wait to return!

Patricia Wiegand November, 2009 France

Since I was one person, the apartment was the ideal size. As always, the Haven in Paris Team provided everything that one could need for a most comfortable stay. The view of Sacre Coeur, especially at night, was nothing less than spectacular. For a small apartment, it was very well equipped. This was my second visit to the Haven Team and I am anxious to continue sampling many of their other beautiful apartments. Didier couldn't have been more helpful and charming and always ready to resolve any problem. A wonderful experience and my congratulations again to Haven for their continued excellence in providing first-class accommodations and unrivalled professionalism and courtesy. No more hotels for me.

I was delighted with my stay at rue Livingstone. I usually stay around the 6th arrondisement but I wanted to explore a new area. I was smitten once I discovered that I was in the midst of the fabric district. Besides that the journey to Les Puces was so quick. And there were so may places to go that connected easily with the metro stops. But beyond anything is the view of Sacre Coeur, both day and night. The apt. is lovely and I was very comfortable. The wifi access was great as I was working for part of the trip. The bed (and bedding) was very comfortable. A French friend that visited me even cooked a lovely dinner for us in the apt. My only complaint? The wine bottle opener was terrible! Very easily fixed! I highly recommend this apt. and look forward to going back myself. Or maybe trying other Haven In Paris apts.

Amber Hodgson November, 2009 kansas city, mo

This was my third stay in the Livingstone property and it still feels like heaven. Didier (our greeter) is an absolute dream and I can't wait to see him again when we are in Paris next year! The apartment is so peaceful, so i really feel like I am escaping when I am there. The Haven in Paris team make traveling to Paris effortless. This is the ONLY place we want to stay in Paris.

Meredith Montague November, 2009 Charlottesville, VA, USA

We rented the Livingstone Penthouse for our belated honeymoon in November (we were married in March). Having lived in Paris previously and spent a lot of time visiting, we were more interested in a comfortable stay in the city than an agenda-heavy tour of all the guidebook high-lights. Location was less of a priority for us, though the views of Sacre-Coeur from the Livingstone Penthouse were a great selling point when choosing where to stay! The apartment was perfect for our intentions. We were able to cook and eat in whenever we wanted. The furnishings and details were beautiful and we had everything we needed for our stay. The free internet and International phone calls were a huge plus. Didier was cheerful and helpful upon arrival and departure, and although we never called upon HiP during our stay, we appreciated knowing that we had services and attention standing by in case we needed anything. We had a great experience with Haven in Paris and I would highly recommend renting an apartment to anyone planning to visit Paris.

Jane Gehring October, 2009 New York, USA

I can't think of anything more you could have done to improve the apartment. We thought it was wonderful and we loved being in a neighborhood. Didier was perfect greeter. He was full of helpful information and enjoyable to talk to. He was also there exactly when he said he'd be when we were leaving. If we return to Paris in the near future, we would definitely rent the same apartment. We also took Erica's recommendation and went to Miroir (reservations required) and the food was outstanding.

Adam October, 2009 Bath, England

HIP very professional and easy to deal with. Helped with hotel before apartment available. A very nice little studio which greatly contributed to the enjoyment of the holiday. Just what i was looking for.

Bill and Jane October, 2009 New York, USA

This was our second, and fortunately a longer visit, to Paris. The apartment was perfect and we were alway happy to return to our little retreat. The view can't be beat. Montmartre is an interesting and comfortable place to wander. I think we found all the quiet garden suprises. We had to find a restaurant for a Monday night as friends were meeting us for dinner. We were more then pleasantly surprised to find "Le Cafe Qui Parle, - it was outstanding. The Metro was se easy, fast and certainly efficient and all trains connect to the 2 & 12 (the lines by the apartment). We look forward to our next visit We took Erica's advice and went to 'Le Miroir' for dinner (reservation essential). It was outstanding!!!

We were alerted to your company by an article we read in a travel magazine for physicians. It turns out a physician, from our community, and his family had stayed at one of your properties and mentioned it in an article they wrote for the magazine. With your assistance we were met at the airport by taxi. Andy, the driver, was very helpful and informative. On arrival at the property we were met by Didier. He is a gem. The workings of the apartment were carefully explained to us. The special touches of wine and flowers were appreciated, they set the tone for the week, relax you are on holidays. Thank you Didier. We did have difficulty getting reception on the TV and e-mailed Didier for assistance. He responded, within minutes, by phone talking my husband through the set up. The apartment was excellently appointed. Appliances were new, all cookware and dishes were supplied. There was nothing else needed. I had even brought my own laundry detergent only to find it supplied. One note - if you are going to continue supplying the detergent you may want to make mention of it on the web site.

Nick M August, 2009 Melbourne, Australia

The Livingstone apartment was exactly as we imagined it would be, fantastic views and full of Parisian charm and character. HIP were a pleasure to deal with from go to woe, the flowers and wine were a nice touch. The apartment is ideally located, quiet and safe. We followed some of the restaurant recommendations for Montmartre taken from this site and can say in our opinion the pizza at Alice Pizza were some of the best we have ever tasted anywhere in the world, we know its not exactly French but if you start to get tired of Confit de Canard, its worth the short walk! Some quick tips - The ironing board is behind the sofa bed! We found the sofa bed softer than the actual bed. Buy your tickets in carnet's (books of 10) much cheaper than buying day passes or single trips, we found we used around four tickets a day between the two of us so it worked well. If you attempt to take your luggage on the underground and are wondering how to get through the ticket styles with your case? leave your case at the gate to the side, go through the styles yourself, walk to the gate and open it to get your case, Easy once you know about it! Some stops require you to press a call button to ask for the gate to be released first. We found the bottled water (Vittel, Evian etc) so soft and almost undrinkable compared to what we are used to in Australia, If that's your experience we recommend Volvic its identical to our water. If you intend to visit places like Versailles or the Louvre, try going mid afternoon...there's no such thing as 'beating the crowd's' by going early. In our opinion the outlet shopping at La Valleevillage (one stop prior to Disneyland) is not work the trouble, unlike the info we read, there are no outlets for Ferragamo et al as we had read, its nothing more than a mall like we are used to in Australia and America and is definitely NOT like the designer outlets such as the one near Florence, Italy.

Frank & Leanne August, 2009 Vancouver, BC Canada

As I write I look out at my new favorite view. The Sacre Coeur's stone work against the green grass and trees, and the sky behind it, a memory I will take from here and keep forever. This place, I cannot describe with only a few words. Paris (or first time), has been more then we ever dreamed it would be. And how lucky to we have been to find and stay at rue Livingstone. The apartment, our place of rest was perfect. The neighborhood, Montmartre, left us with the real taste of pars, and the desire to return. How luck we are to have found all of this. Thank you for this opportunity to rekindle our love after only 23 years of marriage! Didier, our greeter, has been amazing! Again, merci beaucoup!

Jodie and Mark July, 2009 Greenville, South Carolina

The Livingstone Penthouse met all our expectations. The apartment has the most incredible view of the church. Didier, the greeter, was efficient and very informative. He made us feel at ease and comfortable in the apartment. He recommended a great route to walk to the Tour de France which was fantastic. We loved cooking in the apartment and the grocery store Champion. We had a great time and would recommend working with Haven in Paris to anyone. HIP made it very easy to visit Paris. Thanks!

The Scobie Family July, 2009 Iverness, Scotland

We stayed here for four nights and have had a lovely time. The studio apartment is wonderful ~ the views fantastic. As a family of four it has been ideal ~ we couldn't have asked for more. we will be back and would recommend Haven in Paris very highly to friends and family. Thank you.

Dominique June, 2009 California

The apartment was AMAZING - the view unbeatable. Our host was very helpful and cordial regarding setting the apartment up for us and showing us around. The apartment has everything you will need during your stay - the kitchen was amazing and with the fresh food markets just around the corner, cooking was a breeze. I would highly recommend Livingstone to any couple traveling to Paris - living in an apartment is a great way to really experience the city.

Andrew and Larry June, 2009 Melbourne, Australia

Firstly our stay in the Livingstone apartment was amazing. Didier our greeter was most efficient, extremely friendly and very helpful in recommending two very special restaurants. The views from the apartment were nothing short of spectacular. Our total experience with Haven in Paris was incredibly positive, very easy and at all times I felt very secure negotiating over the internet. Thank you for making our stay in Paris such a unique one, we will certainly be recommending your services to anyone travelling to Paris. With sincerest regards

Vicki Simon May, 2009 Berkeley, CA USA

Haven In Paris was very responsive to all questions asked about the apartment before we booked. However, we discovered that this was not a comfortable apartment for three people. The sofa bed when folded out, blocks the path to the bathroom, making it necessary for two out of three people to walk on top of sleeping guests to make it to the bathroom. There are only two comfortable chairs for sitting at the table. The folding slatted chairs are uncomfortable, the upholstered chair is too low, and there is only one other rickety antique chair in the bathroom that sufficed dining for three. The view is truly spectacular. What we were not prepared for was that people party on the hill in front of Sacre Coeur until 2:30am. So, if you like to sleep with the windows open, you have to put up with noisy revelers. Montmartre was charming, though a bit too touristy for my taste. ** Note from HiP: We would like to reiterate that while this apartment does sleep up to 4 comfortably (and has many times in the past!), it is a studio and therefore not as spacious as having a separate bedroom. There is, however, a high quality and comfortable sofa bed & it is in fact possible to walk around the sofa bed to the bathroom. We do our best to represent the space as accurately as possible on our website.

Wayne Cardoza April, 2009 Amherst, NH

The apartment was perfect. Even with a 100% accurate web description, it exceeded my expectations. Comfortable, filled with light, and with a computer. I will never want to stay in a hotel room again.

Frank Allara April, 2009 Cibolo, Texas, USA

Our time at the Livingstone penthouse apartment was fantastic! Our greeter, Didier Paul, was outstanding! He was very personable and provided us plenty of information so that we could further enjoy our stay. As always, we hated to leave Paris. Thanks for everything!

Gwen Evans March, 2009 Port Townsend WA

Everything about this apartment was superb! My daughter and I stayed here for eight nights. It was spotlessly clean, had wonderful light with a fabulous view of the Sacre Coeur. We especially enjoyed the well-appointed kitchen as we often eat in after shopping on Rue des Abbesses and Rue Lepic for supplies. I have been to Paris 11 times and have rented apartments except for the first trip - this is truly the best one - will return as often as possible. Alain, our host, was charming and extremely helpful. We cannot recommend this apartment highly enough. It is very close to the metro and smack dab in the fabric district (I am a designer) so perfect for us, thanks so much, gwen evans

Coleen Willoughby March, 2009 Scotland, UK

Booking with Haven was a fabulous experience on the whole. The professional service from both Haven in the USA and the greeter, who handed the apartment over to us, was excellent. It exceeded all expectations. The flat was spotless and perfect and included washing machine and dryer. We were even told to help ourselves to tea, coffee, and sugar. The wine and roses were also such a lovely touch. The flat had the most amazing view of Sacre Coeur. I would like to say that Didier, the greeter, was absolutely lovely as well. He recommended an amazing restaurant and made us feel very special. We felt completely pampered.

Darko Suvak February, 2009 California, USA

We have stayed at your apartment in Montmartre two years ago, and just wanted to say "Hi." Our mouths and thoughts are still full of that wonderful experience. We are recommending your site a lot!!!!!! Hope we can do it again very soon and when can will let you know.

Charles & Kelsey January, 2009 Vancouver, BC Canada

We had a fabuloustime in the lovely Livingstone penthouse. It was the perfect starting point for our 6 month affair in Frace. We have had countless meals within Paris, but by far, the best host in the city is Antoine at 'L'homme tranquille". His personality and kindness made it the most memorable by far! - If you go, tell him Charles & Kelsey from Vancouver say hello! Thanks again it's been fantastic! P.S. The Pain au chocolat at the 'Au Levain D'Antan' are the best - I had to go back every day!

Terri Holland November, 2008 Salt Lake City, UT, USA

We loved the apartment. It was clean and bright and the views were exquisite. We were in the middle of the fabric district and it was colorful and fun to see all the people on the street. Close to a metro stop, we had easy access to all the sites of Paris. There are many cafes, bakeries, restaurants and shops, as well as a grocery store nearby for those, like us, who wanted to cook while there. I would highly recommend the space to anyone. The flowers, wine and bread we received during our tour was really sweet. Our contact person was wonderful and even helped coordinate meeting up with my friend traveling from another place and helped locate my missing luggage. Overall, I was extremely impressed with the attention to detail, the travel books and movies in the apartment, the generous nature of our contact person and the ease of renting, staying and leaving. We'll be back.

The Hahns October, 2008 California, US

We did have a wonderful stay at Livingstone. We have no suggestions to improve the quality of the flat. We thought it was very well equipped and comfortable, and appreciated the extra space and privacy over a hotel room. Everything worked in the kitchen, the washer and dryer were helpful as this was our 3rd week of travel, the computer was most helpful after using internet cafes in other cities, and the phone was a huge treat. We were able to call and check in with our sons and we appreciate that. The binder answered all our questions about how things worked. Amaury did a fine job greeting us. He was waiting when we arrived, did a good job of explaining the apartment, sent us a follow-up email late that night, arrived promptly for the check out appointment, and arranged for a taxi to take us to the airport. We did not ask any more of him, but we certainly felt comfortable about contacting him had we needed to. Thanks for everything.

Grace & Bruce Milner October, 2008 Toronto, Canada

Having rented other accomodations via the internet I was somewhat hesitant. We were anything but disappointed! It was exactly as described: great location, great value, comfortable, exceptional view of Montmartre, and a real Paris living experience. We shopped locally, cooked "at home" (excellent kitchen and cooking gear), enjoyed local restaurants, and easily got to all our Paris attractions. We would highly recommend it.

amber October, 2008 kansas city, missouri USA

Thomas was wonderful! and so was Amaury when we left. He brought us roses, breakfast from the local patisserie, and the best baguette we had while we were there. This was our 2nd stay at Livingstone, and it was so beautiful and romantic, once again. It's so quiet there, that you really feel like you're getting away from it all! I will keep coming back to this very special place for the peaceful feeling it brings me, and the magnificent view of the Sacre Coeur! Thank you HiP! I truly adore your team and apartment!!

Solterbeck October, 2008 Melbourne, Australia

The unit had everything and more than we needed. It is fantastic and can be recommended to anybody A little thing....egg cups - a european thing were not there. We needed to assure, that the phone and computer were hooked up, which was done, whilst our greater was there, which meant, 30 minutes were needed on his part. Hopefully everybody staying in this unit will have as good a time in Paris as we had

Ellie Bradish & Dan Bullock September, 2008 Milwaukee, Wisconsin USA

Our stay here has been fantastic. The apartment is beautiful and had everything we needed. We didn't know much about the different districts of Paris before we came, but after exploring a bit, (in 9 days we just barely scratched the surface!) we feel we really lucked out that we are in the 18th. Our greeter, Amaury, was so helpful and nice. He really went above and beyond - walking with us on our first day for a good 45 minutes to show us around and even treated us to croissants and a baguette from Coquelicot. Now we've been spoiled and wish for a Haven in Stockholm, a Haven in Sydney, a Haven wherever we go! We highly recommend the restaurant "The Basilic". The food was amazing- perfect crème brulée! It's been an amazing honeymoon for us.

Sonia Marshall August, 2008 Norwich, UK

This was the best 'holiday rental' experience I've ever had. Your service from the first email to this one has been exemplary. During the booking process all my emailed questions received immediate responses and this made me feel confident about using HIP to book accommodation in Paris. Arrival details were agreed with our 'greeter' days before we left and, upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and shown how to use everything in the apartment which, incidentally, is kitted out with the best appliances I have ever found in a holiday rental. I really enjoyed meeting Kyra (our greeter) and was most interested to talk to her about her reseach. The Livingstone apartment is quiet and is ideally located in a safe, bustling, neighbourhood. Transport and excellent shops and restaurants are just a street away and the Sacre Coeur seems so close by that you could almost touch it from the window. I will certainly use HIP again. You (and co) are very good at the little touches - a glass of water and flowers upon arrival make such a difference. Departure was equally as smooth. I was also hugely impressed with your 'American' approach to appliances and fluffy towels. I loved the Smeg cooker! I also loved having access to the laptop, internet and phone.

Martin August, 2008 UK

Some say that to travel is better than arriving- but that's not true-Paris is a great destination and this place is a haven- and just one step from heaven! Walking the streets of the city for hours + hours allowed Paris, like the sun, to enter our souls- one night in Paris IS like a week in any other place and we had 14 of them.

Ann Squire July, 2008 Katonah, NY, USA

We just returned from a week in Le Penthouse, and what a lovely, cozy place to come home to after a long day of walking. The apartment has everything one would want, including such thoughtful additions as a laptop with internet access, extra umbrellas, coffee and tea, a selection of guidebooks, etc. The view from the apartment is wonderful, and the busy street of shops quiets down at night. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and addressed our questions in a timely manner. It was really a fabulous trip, and I can't think of a thing that could be improved. Thanks so much for a great time. We loved everything about it, and can't wait to go back. Highly recommended!

amber hodgson July, 2008 kansas city, MO USA

So, our bags were lost when we arrived to Paris. We emailed Sarah and Erica, and both of them immediately responded letting us know that they would do whatever they could to help. They checked on us continuously until the bags arrived and even contacted the concierge to let them know about the baggage delivery - just in case we were not available. I could not have asked for better service than that! The Livingstone far exceeded our expectations, too! We arrived to find a sunlit and airy apartment... with huge windows and a beautiful view of the Sacre Coer right outside. For myself and my sister, this apartment was like a fairytale and I have been daydreaming about our stay there (and being in Paris) ever since we left. We will be coming back, hopefully in a few months, and it feels nice knowing that we have a sort-of "home away from home" in Paris.

Henk Smith July, 2008 Tzaneen, South Africa

You guys are fantastic!!!! The apartment was perfect in all aspects. We felt at home instandly and the view was awesome. Thanks for everything and God willing we'll see you next year!!

Jeff July, 2008 USA

Everything about the stay was perfect. The HIP team was professional and incredibly well prepared. It seemed like you had thought of everything before we did! There was no mistaking that a lot of time and painstaking effort had been put into not only the apartment, but also the information that HIP provides to their client. It was crucial! I shared the same doubts/ uncertainties that other potential clients might (with renting over the internet), but everything that was promised was delivered- and then some! The Livingstone was even more of a gem than the HIP website pictures are able to portray; the view from it, even more majestic. It was very comforting to know that Kyra (our greeter) was available if we had any questions, and though we only sent her a few emails, her responses were prompt, professional and well informed. I will absolutely recommend HIP to any of my world traveling friends and HOPE to have the opportunity to stay at another one of your apartments. Thanks again.

Sheena Smith July, 2008 Tzaneen, South Africa

Thank you for the stay in this great apartment! Was my FIRST stay in Paris! Enjoyed every moment! I take great memories back to South Africa with me! I live in a rural area of South Africa and the whole experience of a big city and living in an apartment was so new to me. The Metro was new. Everything was new. Wow! What an experience! I have a lot to share with my friends and family. My God bless you for your servanthood! trust I will be back some day.

Theresa and Mike June, 2008 Toronto, Canada

We had a great time in Paris! The apartment was lovely. Kyra (our greeter) was very nice, helpful and informative. We loved the call to Canada for free as could check in with our kids. I had some problem dialing local calls and was under the impression I was not to call cells from the apartment- so I didn't contact Kyra by cell but rather took time to email her. All in all- the apartment, Kyra and our whole experience was wonderful. We would not hesitate to rent again and to recommend your service.

Nancy F. June, 2008 Niceville, FL

As a VRBO owner myself, I understand how difficult it is to get everything right every week - but Haven in Paris did all that and more! From Helen ironing the sheets to Kyra greeting us and tell us not just what we needed to know in the apartment, but sharing so much more about Paris, it was a wonderful experience. I am telling all my friends - if you come to Paris, you must stay with Haven in Paris. As I have told everyone, I am not staying anywhere else but with you when we come to Paris (or Italy!) again! Your friend at the beach! www.condoson30a.com Merci! Nancy

Estelle Wieler May, 2008 Toronto, Canada

I had always dreamed of taking my teenage daughter on a special mother-daughter trip to Paris. When I saw the floor plan and the pictures of the Livingstone street studio, I knew immediately that it would be the perfect place for us... and it was! Our hostess, Evelyne, was charming and extremely helpful. She gave us her cellphone number and reassured us that we could call her at any time. The Montmartre neighborhood felt safe for two ladies on their own - we often came back late at night from our shopping and sightseeing excursions and never had any concerns. Access to the center of Paris by bus or metro was very convenient. The apartment is surrounded by many quaint cafes and bakeries where one can sit down for a delicious meal. There are also many places to buy take-out, something good for the travel budget. Staff in the local restaurants and stores speak English fluently. Thank you HIP for the lovely memories that my daughter and I now share of our Paris vacation. Evelyne(our greeter) was wonderful and so was her delightful husband Pierre. They had us over at their place on Houdon street for crepes. What a treat! Thank you again! Hope to go back some day - would like my husband to see it all too. One last thing that must be mentioned: the view of Sacre-Coeur from the apartment window... breathtaking!

Marilou May, 2008 B.C., Canada

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Paris. We certainly thought our apartment on Rue Livingstone was perfect. Montmartre is a terrific neighbourhood to stay in. From being greeted by Evelyne (extremely helpful and charming!) to each day returning to the comfort of our home away.. we had a delightful stay. The apartment has everything you would possibly need..so no in fact I can't offer any changes. I will say continue to do what you're doing. I hope one day in the not too distant future we will return to France and we would most certainly use one of your properties again..

Katie & Tim Schuster May, 2008 Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA

We had a wonderful stay at the Livingstone apartment. The neighborhood is simply charming. The views from the apartment are absolutely spectacular. We were extremely impressed by the quality of service with HIP. Evelyne was our greeter--she was truly wonderful. She even gave us a tour of the neighborhood on our first day. This was greatly appreciated. We have already recommended HIP and would certainly use them again. Thanks for a memorable trip!

David Haskins May, 2008 Atlanta, GA USA

The apartment was fantastic. Well situated, and a great view from all the windows, which made it very bright and attractive. I was especially pleased with the service provided by Evelyne. I got into Paris early on a Saturday, and they were cleaning the apartment, so Evelyne let me leave my bags, and she took me on a mini-tour of the neighborhood, giving a few recommendations. Au Vin was great! Any time I'm coming to Paris, I will first check with Haven In Paris for accommodations!

Katie May, 2008 Michigan, U.S.

We had a wonderful trip and loved our stay at the apartment. Evelyne was our greeter--she was truly wonderful. She even gave us a tour of the neighborhood on our first day. This was greatly appreciated. Overall, it was a great apartment and we hope to make another visit to the Livingstone apartment or another HIP property in the near future!

Charlotte & David DeMoney April, 2008 Antibes, France

This apartment seemed to be set up for someone to actually live there, which is quite different from many other apartments in which we've stayed in Paris. The Livingstone Penthouse apartment had the best kitchen of any apartment we have rented before in Paris. It was extremely well equipped with good quality cookware, dishes, etc., which added to the pleasure of shopping at the local markets and then returning to the apartment to cook up something fun. The charming shops on nearby rue Lepic were especially good for this. It was also amazing to have the illuminated Sacre Coeur to gaze out at from the dining room table during dinners in. It is obvious that a lot of thought went into furnishing and equipping this apartment to provide a comfortable and livable Haven in Paris.

Larry and Susan April, 2008 Montauk, New York, USA

Erica and Sarah, I think this is our sixth or seventh stay with HIP, and our 3rd at Rue Livingstone. This time we arrived somewhat under the weather and left Paris restored. The apartment was, as always, a very, very comfortable nest. It's wonderful to watch the Paris light change through the day from your windows. Everything is sensible and easy to use. The availability of the free phone and wireless computer is a nice addition. Erica, the boulangerie that you sent us to last Monday is terrific and our last dinner in Paris at L'Abadache was our best. Hope to see you again, soon.

Sharon, Kurt & Michael Olsen March, 2008 CA, USA

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Livingstone Penthouse apartment in Montmartre. The apartment thoroughly met our expectations (based on the pictures and description available on your Internet site). Indeed, we were impressed by the immaculateness of the apartment, the quality of linen and kitchen utensils and the basics provided. The view of Sacre Cour was interesting at all times of day and in the mix of weather we experienced in March, and the neighborhood was colorful and an interesting ethnic mix. The Anvers metro station was located only two blocks away and very handy. We also found a staffed tourist office located one block away from the Anvers station. Kyra met us at the apartment with flowers and wine when we arrived. She was very helpful at explaining how appliances in the apartment worked, and she showed us where the local market and metro stations were as well as advised us on the best way for our son to get to Charles Degaulle Airport the following Saturday. Evelyne checked us out, and she was equally cordial and friendly. All in all, we had a great experience, and we are looking forward to returning to Paris. The books and other information provided in the apartment were most helpful. We would definitely do business with Haven in Paris again and recommend this studio apartment and your firm to other travellers.

Sean Gallagher March, 2008 Brookline, MA USA

Excellent vacation, one of the best I've had - outstanding. The apartment, service and location was great! Thank you, HIP staff and team!

Jilene Thomas March, 2008 Brookline, MA USA

Lovely, bright apartment nestled into a charming little neighborhood in Montmartre - it is a very comfortable apartment that is as wonderful as the pictures on the web site and more! Great accommodations and friendly helpful service with everything from transportation to good restaurants! We had a great vacation!

Stephanie Strom March, 2008 Ashland OR 97520

A fabulous studio - we loved our time there. Very professional reservation process, very organized system the whole way through. A perfect studio for a couple to spend time in Montmartre. We found the best cheese shops, bakeries, & produce stands our first night there just down the street and we continued to go back every day for our provisions. Very friendly neighborhood over all, it was like staying in a small town within Paris. Evelyne is fantastic and a charming greater. thank you!

Siddharth, Sunny, Rashmi Singh January, 2008 London, UK

A warm cosy apartment with awesome views - rue Livingstone was the perfect pied-a-terre to spend a relaxed week just chilling (and shopping!) in Paris. All in all a lovely start to 2008 - hopefully we'll use one of your premises again soon!

Olga Shutts January, 2008 Moscow, Russia

Thank you for giving a real home & warmth in Paris. The service is outstanding, from the response time to the site presentation, to the friendliest Carrie. She has been of great help. I cannot imagine that I stay at another place when I come back to Paris. Thank you from the heart.

Sadhna Paralkar December, 2007 Chicago, IL

We loved the apartment and everything it offered, including the location - it was very "neighborhoody". One can experience the real Paris the way Parisians live, in a completely non-touristy area. Definitely a must go back!

Jason LaChance & Micaela B. December, 2007 London, UK & Brooklyn, NY

What a perfect place for a Paris escape... we spent Christmas in Montmartre with a view of the church... this apartment feels like home, in the best possible way! Thank you for the recommendations - we had a really memorable meal at le Restaurant. All In all tremendous! We'll send ALL our friends to you! All the best.

Stuart Bennett & Pati Naritomi November, 2007 Charlotte, Vermont USA

Thank you Erica and Haven in Paris for a truly wonderful two weeks. We love this apartment - the view, the location, all the amenities, plus the wonderful light coming thru the windows (truly sought after in Paris apartments!). The comfortable bed, good shower and French press all made us feel at home. We'll miss the view at Sacre Coeur when we leave. We'll be back. PS We highly recommend walking back behind Sacre Coeur - nice neighborhood away from the maddening crowds. PSS Thank you Carrie for being so helpful

Amanda & Kenny Miller November, 2007 Richmond, Virginia USA

Livingstone is truly a Haven in Paris. Each night afte a long day of walking and seeing the beautiful sights of Paris, we looked forward to returning to our Haven away from home. Haven in Paris came so highly recommended by past tenants that we knew we were in for a treat! Our first day here was sunny and beautiful and we could not believe the view of Sacre Coeur from the windows, and at night it takes our breath away! Every time we wake up or go to bed, we say the same thing - we can't believe we are here! The apartment had everything we needed and more! We will learn how to use a French press-pot before we return! Everything was fantastic - you have given us a honeymoon to remember and memories we will carry close to our hearts for the rest of our lives. Many many thanks! Thank you also for the friendly Carrie! Our best regards. We will be back and we will be passing the word on about the gem that is Haven in Paris!

Chris and Tim Everdell October, 2007 Kingston, Ontario, Canada

This was our first time in Paris, which we absolutely loved and having such a great place to stay added to the experience. The apartment was extremely clean and came with just about everything we needed. The kitchen was well equiped with pots, pans etc. as well as things such as coffee, salt, pepper, olive oil, and plastic wrap. There was plenty of reading material around. Having internet access was wonderful. The washer and dryer made our week of biking beforehand easy to clean up from! The location in Montmartre was wonderful. Being able to see Sacre Coeur from the windows at night was very special. It was easy to get around either by foot or by metro. The book of recommendations was very helpful - we especially enjoyed the chocolate shop and Le Restaurant. Thank you for great service and a wonderful place to stay. We hope to be back some day!

Roger and Susan Hillmeyer October, 2007 Durango, CO USA

This apartment far exceeded our expectations in quality and convenience. It was so close to the Anvers metro stop that we had easy access to all parts of the city and the railroad for excursions outside the city. It was quiet at night so we could rest well. The apartment literally had all the comforts of home. Special touches like plenty of extra towels made the stay really pleasant.

Summer Pfeiffer October, 2007 Tampa, Florida USA

Haven in Paris was an absolute pleasure to work with! It was wonderful to have Carrie meet us and give us an introduction to the apartment as well as a comprehensive list of everything in the area we may need from grocery stores and restaurants to local doctors and dentists. The apartment was clean and roomy (loved the bottle of wine and flowers) which was nice since we were traveling with our 2 year old daughter. Although we didn't need to contact her, it was nice knowing if we did need anything we had a someone that would help. We will definitely use your service in the future and we loved being in the Montmartre area. Thank you again.

Tony + Colleen September, 2007 Sydney, Australia

Thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in Paris. 18eme is an enjoyable buzzy place. Lots of local color and activity. We had a really lovely stay at Monmartre. Were warmly welcomed by Carrie and just loved the location with the wide open windows. The apartment had all we needed and were really grateful to have internet access and the machine and dryer were a bonus.

Roslyn Stewart September, 2007 Liverpool, UK

We had a lovely week in the apartment. Lovely views, excellent location and the apartment was perfect for us. Carrie was very helpful.

Sheila P. September, 2007 Dublin, Ireland

I loved the studio that we stayed in this September. It was clean, comfortable and had every amenity we could have wanted. The perfect view of Sacre Coeur from the windows was spectacular to wake up to! The apartment was perfect and all the little 'extras' like some flowers and coffee were much appreciated. Carrie was most helpful and very pleasant person. She was punctual and told us all we needed to know. Your directory of recommendations for restaurants, etc. was great too. I cannot really think of any improvements you could make! The neighbourhood is a little funky which I loved! Great deals in the hair salons and beauty parlours and coffee shops... The posh places are only 10 mins away on the Metro! I'd highly recommend this apartment and the Haven In Paris service.

alex & maria August, 2007 greece

I got the studio as a last resort. Everything else I looked was either too expensive or a little smaller than a elevator. The livingstone studio seemed like a palace compared to the rest. .....usually the pics beautify the situation. Not in this case! The studio is exactly as beautiful as it looks on the pics. Even better! It`s 1000% clean, the view is excellent (do yourself a favour and wake up to see the dawn). I can`t recommend it more strong. We were expected by Carrie , a very pleasant person and extremely helpful. We really felt welcomed. We`ll definitely come to Paris again (I always say that you need a second trip to enjoy the city you visit) and we won`t look anywhere else.

Haven in Paris it is! Erica, we had a wonderful trip! Thank you very much for all of your help. It was wonderful to stay at rue Livingstone. It's a charming place and your level of detail and comfort is appreciated. Have stayed in other accomodations you have and they were equally as nice. Looking forward to visiting again ad would highly recommend Haven in Paris to anyone!

Jilene Thomas August, 2007 Boston, Mass, USA

Haven it very well is. Erica, we had a wonderful trip. Thank you very much for all of your help. It was wonderful to stay here at rue Livingstone again. It's a charming place and your level of detail and comfort is appreciated. Have stayed in other accomodations you have and they were equally as nice. Looking forward to visiting again and would highly recommend Haven in Paris to anyone.

Tom Conning June, 2007 Melbourne, Australia

We enjoyed our stay in your apartment very much, thank you. In the first instance I liked the website and then decided to chose Rue Livingstone because we did not need anything larger. On seeing the apartment my expectations were more than satisfied Clean, very comfortable bed and pillows, good linen and plentiful supply of towels. Excellent shower and supply of hot water. All cooking facilities(including clothes washing machine). Wonderful views. Excellent guide (the prepared guide ) which you emailed to me. Carrie (our Greeter) was absolutely lovely and very attentive to our needs and explained everything well. Quite delightful in fact. My wife enjoyed the roses very much. We enjoyed the great supply of guide books, books and CD's and we even went on one of the Paris Walks (after having seen the write up in the apartment)The walk was most enjoyable and well worth doing We will certainly recommend your website to friends and relatives and should we revisit Paris you or Erica would be the first contact. All in all very impressive and we could not have wished for more Congratulations.

Bob HK June, 2007 NY, NY USA

Just got home from our visit to rue Livingstone. We really enjoyed the apartment very much. Thank you for such a thoughtfully well equipped and tastefully arranged studio. That is a lucky spot you have there.

Natalie June, 2007 Boston, MA/USA

This apartment truly was a Haven in Paris! We booked the Livingstone apartment for our honeymoon and can't imagine ever going back to hotel stays again. Erica and Evelyne were terrific! Thank you!

Paul & Amanda Jenkins May, 2007 Canberra Australia

This really was a haven in Paris. The Livingstone Penthouse was superb and we were very well looked after by Erica via email and Carrie who received us at the apartment with flowers. The local area information was excellent and saved several hours of investigation which meant more time to enjoy the beautiful city of Paris. We would love to have another holiday in Paris and stay at this very apartment. Thank you.

Marcos Kohler April, 2007 Brasilia - Brazil

I strongly recommend the Livingstone Penthouse. I had wonderful days and nights there. I had the rare chance to cook and have dinner, together with my wife, windows open, gazing at Sacre-Couer Basilic all veiled with magical green light in mild spring nights. Not to mention the fine and cheap Bordeaux in the glass. Haven in Paris deserves all confidence. Newcomers clients don't hesitate in dealing with Erica and all her people. My experience in negotiating with them was above my expectations.

Joe and Annette March, 2007 Portland, Oregon USA

Everything was wonderful. Carrie (our greeter) was great--very helpful and easy to get in touch with. She was right on time and everything. Can't think of any improvements. I'm sure we'll be using your services in the future--maybe in the south of France as well. Very Best, Joe

Steve & Paul January, 2007 Cambridge, Mass. USA

It was a perfect week in Paris, only too short. It's been unseasonably mild which meant we spent our time walking the city and sitting at cafes and parks soaking up the sun. The apartment couldn't have been nicer. Carrie was terrific - there when we arrived and right on time when we had to tear ourselves away to the airport. Thank you so much. I hope we have the opportunity to rent it again. We'll certainly recommend it to friends!

Kerry January, 2007 Hermosa Beach, CA

I had a wonderful weeklong stay at the Livingstone Street Penthouse apartment in Paris during a two week trip to Europe. From the very outset, Erica contributed to a successful trip. I was interested in staying in Montmartre, but had questions whether it was really right for me. Erica took an extensive amount of time on the phone to accurately describe the neighborhood. And it turned out to be one of my favorite places in Paris with a great deal of restaurants and bars that catered to locals as oppossed to the tourists. I intend to stay in Montmartre again in the future. The apartment itself was a pure joy. The view of Sacre Coeur is phenomenal and the high speed internet connection allowed me to take care of business. Moreover, the washer and dryer allowed me to do a load of laundry which is an incredible convenience on a long trip. The apartment was comfortable, warm and conveniently located in walking distance to thre metro stops. It was easy to make it to all of my appointments in Paris. I highly reccomend this apartment, Montmartre and Haven in Paris. Kerry

A & M Curtis December, 2006 UK

We had a wonderful couple of days here in Paris. The apartment has been lovely & cosy and has had everything we needed. The views are outstanding and we will definitely recommend it to our friends and family. Many Thanks.

Ian & Suzanne December, 2006 USA

Suzanne and I had an absolutely wonderful time at the apartment. It was a great experience that we hope to repeat again. We both fell in love not only with the apartment, but the neighborhood as well.

Darren & Cara November, 2006 Cambridge, Mass. USA

As for suggestions, I can't think of any. We really weren't in want of anything. We were both extremely happy with the apartment; and with the amenities that are already available. And as for our greeter, Carrie: we were very happy with her as well. There was a mix-up with the car service our first morning; and Carrie was very understanding and helpful. Also very friendly. And although we didn't need to call at any point during the week, we certainly got the impression that she would have been more than happy to answer any questions that we had. We hope to rent from you again in the future. Thank you!

ANN FARRELL October, 2006 ATHENS, GA. USA

WE LOVED OUR APPARTMENT. I'M NOT SURE PARIS WOULD HAVE BEEN THE SAME WITHOUT WAKING UP TO THE INCREDIBLE VIEW EVERY MORNING. AFTER THE FISRT FEW DAYS, WE FELT LESS LIKE TOURISTS AND MORE LIKE A PART OF PARIS. THE RESTURAUNTS IN THIS AREA WERE SMALLER, AND WONDERFUL. ONLY ONCE OR TWICE DID WE EXPERIENCE THE RUDENESS THAT THE PARISIANS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE FAMOUS FOR. NEW YORKERS ARE MUCH WORSE. AS MUCH AS WE LIKED THE APARTMENT AND AREA, I AM RELUCTANT TO RECOMMEND IT. JEALOUSLY I FEEL LIKE IT WAS OUR OWN LITTLE FIND. A WONDERFUL HAVEN IN PARIS

Linda and Tom October, 2006 Marin County, California USA

Hello Erica and Alain, My second time in this apartment and Tom's first, and we will return. It is the perfect size for us. The week's highlights: got tickets (last minute) to the FIAC art exhibition @ the Grand Palais and Carousel du Louvre. Great people watching + hats. Preferred the art at Carousel du Louvre vs. Grand Palais. Also Marilyn Monroe photos @ Maison Maillot (rue de Grenelle) by Bert Stein. The new Musee Branly - what a beautiful building, walking up and down the Canal St. Martin, discovering the Ile St. Germain in Issy les Moulineaux . . . gorgeous gorgeous island with Jean Nouvel + Philip Starck buildings/private homes as well as a lovely park + restaurant L'Ile delicious. Our vote for best neighborhood restaurant is La Pizzetta at 22, Avenue Trudaine only a few blocks away in the 9th. Tel: 01 48 78 14 08. Don't miss it. Also managed to eat at L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon. Oh yes another out of the way but worth it walk would be in the rue Louise Weisse for newer art galleries. Went from there over to the 14th to check out a LeCorbusier house on Avenue Reile + discovered one of my new favourite streets = square de Montsouris = and the lovely Parc montsouris. Carrie was very welcoming and gave us a much needed Eureka card. The place on Abbesses did not have a new card but the Cyberoom at 49 Bb Rochechouart did. A small suggestion: a plug for the bathroom sink so one can do hand washables. Everything else was perfection. Was glad to be able to do laundry before heading to Antwerp, Maastrict, + Berlin. Hope to see you next time.

Daisy & Tony September, 2006 Granite Bay, CA, USA

We had really enjoyed our week in the Livingstone apartment. The view, especially at night, was to die for. The apartment was well equipped with everything we needed and a few more. Monmartre was so romantic but we also had all of Paris at our fingertips with the Metro just steps away from the apartment. Kyra was very helpful in setting us up. An A+ experience for sure. We'll definitely return and recommend the apartment to our friends. THANKS!

Ed & Geri Hoffman September, 2006 Escondido, CA USA

We spent 3 weeks at Rue Livingstone. The apartment was conveniently located, met all our needs - from corkscrews to coffee - was very well appointed and most comfortable. Our trip was wonderful and the view from our windows-Oh My! Haven in Paris does everything to ensure a happy stress-less vacation and we will certainly use them again and recommend them to our friends.

Melinda and Angelina Miller August, 2006 Seattle, Washington

We have had the opportunity to stay in two of Erica and Alain's marvelous apartments and we'll never stay anywhere else in Paris. Travelling with a 13-year old (even a seasoned traveller like mine) is often a challenge, especially when it comes to hotel rooms and accommodations. Erica and Alain were the best hosts imagineable. The Livingstone was a delight and Lina loved it immediately. It is so comfortable and stylish and that magnificent view...WOW. Within a day she was calling it "home." We loved the neighborhood and our daily walks to Sacre Coeur and then to Au Levain D'Antan for their delicious croissants. We'll be back!

Sara Laplante July, 2006 Washington, USA

Erica, we had a great time! Thank you so much for letting us stay in the apartment. Kyra was wonderful. She called to make sure everything was okay and then again to make sure we had transportation back to the airport. It was so much better than staying in a hotel. The few people we ran into that lived there were also very nice which just added to the experience. Thank you for helping when I called when we arrived late! Oh and Elysee cars was wonderful as well. Both drivers were really great. The one who took us back to the airport even went in to make sure we were at the right terminal (we weren't) and then drove us farther so we wouldn't have to walk. I'd definitely use them again. I talked to people who left reviews and you have such a presence on the internet that I went for it. I even searched just your name and found things so I ended up feeling okay. Your paperwork was all very professional which helped. Really, though nothing needs improving. Oh, and I like your new web site too. We'll definitely use you again next time we are in Paris or Provence. It was a fabulous experience.

Christi L. July, 2006 Wenatchee, Washington USA

I want to thank you for the wonderful accomodations. The apt. was absolutely perfect and we were well taken care of. Thanks for a wonderful experience Kyra was absolutely wonderful - couldn't have been nicer or more competent. It was so nice to have her welcome us to Paris and our little home for our visit. By the way, thanks for having an ice pack in the freezer. I sprained my ankle very badly on the third day and the ice pack was perfect! I wrapped it around my ankle and used it every day. How thoughtful of you. My ankle is still rather swollen, but I no longer have to limp or keep ice packs on it. Anyway, little things like that and the roses and the bottle of wine were such thoughtful "touches". Thanks - you made our visit (my first to Europe) memorable, relaxing, lovely and fun.

Sylvia and Dave June, 2006 Chicago, IL, USA

We are so pleased to have rented the Montmatre apt for our first trip to Paris. What a difference! We immediately felt at home, settled in, and ready to experience Parisian life. Claire was delightful and so helpful. Too bad for us we didn't have a chance to meet (and thank) Erica in person, but she was wonderful to work with and extremely accomodating. We can't wait to return to France and will definitely rent from Haven in Paris again. Thank you!

Ellen and Michele April, 2006 Washington, D.C., USA

6 to 20 September 2003. We were extremely happy to stay in the Rue Sacre Coeur Penthouse apartment in September. We chose the apartment based on the photographs and description on the web site, as well as the reviews submitted by others. The apartment, service, and area all exceeded our expectations. The apartment was a good size for the two of us, with amazing views of Sacre Coeur, and airy and bright decor. The kitchen is big enough to do serious cooking and well equipped. (My only complaint was the tiny whisk, perfect for making vinaigrettes but way too small to whisk up hot milk for cafe au lait in the morning.) The bathroom is large and light. We kept finding new charming touches throughout the apartment -- from the flowers on our arrival to a surprisingly comfortable bed and fabulous towels, extraordinarily beautiful light fixtures in the hall and bath and useful guidebooks. Cecile met us on our arrival and was wonderful about helping us get into the apartment as soon as possible, since we were exhausted from our overnight flight. She went through the wonderful "Guide to Survive" in the apartment with us, which we used over and over. We had both been to Paris a number of times before, but had never stayed in Montmartre. We found that we love it -- it truly is like a small village in the big city, convenient to everything Paris has to offer, yet with its own identity. Within a few days we felt as if we belonged there. We began to identify "our" bakery, "our" chocolate shop, "our" wine and cheese store, "our" restaurant . . . To tell you how much we loved it, by our third day we started discussing buying an apartment ourselves -- in Montmartre, on a top floor, with views of Sacre Coeur . . . surprisingly like the Sacre Coeur Penthouse!

Andrea and Doug Long April, 2006 Westford, MA, USA

We rented the apartment which looks out on Sacre Coeur for 10 days the end of April, 2006. We are a retired couple who spend time in Paris every year. We have rented other apartments and done home exchanges in various parts of Paris. We could not have been more pleased with this apartment, the care that was extened by both Claire and Erica, the location and the VIEW. We spent hours (it poured one weekend so we never left the apartment just hung out and read several of the avaiable books) looking out at the magnificant site. We were thrilled to be "living" in Montmartre!! I have recommended Haven in Paris to our friends and look forward to staying here again.

Steve Gill March, 2006 Spokane, WA USA

This was our first ever trip to Paris and it was fantastic. The Livingstone apt was very well situated to shopping, services and metro station. I was very skeptical about snding a check to an individual whom I had never met half way around the world for an apt rental in an area of a city I was unfamiliar with and had never been to. I was encouraged after I got a few emails from people who had done this booking before and committed. My wife and I thoroughly enjoy the apt. We looked out at the Sacre Coeur each morning while we had breakfast, enjoyed wandering the neighborhood streets and were within a short walk to the metro. We tried one of Erica's suggestions for a dinner out and it was great! We'd gladly rent from Erica and Alain again. It was a wonderful experience.

Brin Stevens & Stephen DeLisle March, 2006 Cambridge, MA

What else can be said of this wonderful little gem in Montmartre. All the comments below are true to the power of ten. . .you will only understand once you've been there. My husband and I felt like Parisians--not tourists--in our Rue Livingstone penthouse suite. The charms of the city floating past like a dream—-the experience did, in fact seem almost ethereal. The lure of Paris: with its myriad cafes, old streets, flea markets, museums, etc. . .are all but a short distance away. But if you wanted to sleep in (yeah, we did it), stay "home" and read a book, relax in true anti-tourist fashion, the apartment became that quiet sanctuary two people who work full time and seriously needed a vacation could enjoy (no one knocking on the door to make the bed, no "Do Not Disturb" sign needed). Erica Berman is wonderful--she makes her clients her friends and keeps them informed; she's gracious, you know she’ll be there if something--anything--were to go wrong during your stay. A trip to Paris, where we were ill-prepared, knew very little French, owned not one guidebook until the day before, had no itinerary was our best trip ever. We credit it to our sweet, clean, romantic little flat in the middle of everything--yet far from it all-—and to the kindness of Erica and her delightful assistant Francoise. Send me an email and I’ll tell you more; I might wax poetic, I may even offer you our barely used guidebook.

Shannon Twiss February, 2006 Agoura Hills, CA

I stayed in the apartment for my second time in February and it was as wonderful the second time as it was the first. Erica and Alain really know how to create an experience. The apartment has everything you could possibly need to feel like you are in your very own home in Paris. The view is second to none, the neighborhood is charming, and the apartment itself is cozy and inviting. There is no better way to visit Paris then to stay in an apartment and Erica's apartment is definitetly the best I have come across. I know that I will be sure to visit Paris again and to visit the apartment "my home" in Paris again.

Chris February, 2006 Santa Rosa, CA, USA

It was a beautiful experience. The photos do not do justice to the airiness and light that fills the apartment. A magical hideaway above the world with Sacre-Coeur outside the window, which is as beautiful at night as in the day. The apartment was well stocked so we felt that we were truly in a home, much better than an impersonal hotel. Next visit will definitely return to 'our place'.

Larry & Susan January, 2006 Montauk, New York

The Livingstone apartment is a marvelous nest particularly when it's a bit wintry in Paris. As always, Erica and the team made us immediately welcome and comfortable. Though this visit was a short one, we once again bought provisions at R. Lepic and made use of the well arranged kitchen. We are looking forward to our next visit and expect it will be a longer one.

Patrice M December, 2005 Ft. Lauderdale, FL, USA

Dear Erica and Alain, I really enjoyed your Apt, it's in a perfect location for business and pleasure. Been a french man that now lives in the US, I am very happy that I found about your place. Everything as perfect, was very happy that you had wireless so I was able to check my Emails. As I told you I look forward on coming back.

Kathy Ann Walsh November, 2005 Scottsdale, AZ

It was such a delight to arrive at Rue Livingstone last November (2005) for our 10-night stay and be greeted by Francoise with flowers and wine. She is a lovely lady and spent quite a while there with us explaining the amenities of the apartment in great detail. She also gave us a wonderful restaurant recommendation for L'Homme Tranquille" which we enjoyed very much for our first meal in Paris. Erica was also very helpful in making the initial arrangements and by phone during our stay. The apartment was everything I hoped it would be - fabulous views of Sacre Couer and the surrounding rooftops, the sound of rain on the roof, the lovely architectural details from being on the top floor, the oak floor....Kitchen and bath were well stocked. Washer and dryer worked great. The building itself was also beautiful. Be sure to at least go down the stairs (if not up) once or twice. There are great views out the large windows on each landing. Easy walking distance to Metro stations and VERY close to Sacre Couer. Several times we bought crepes or croissants and ate them up by Sacre Couer. Lots of restaurants and the sights of Montmartre all close by. Great value for the price. So much nicer to pretend you live in Paris for a while rather than staying in a hotel.

Samuel September, 2005 New York, USA

The apartment was indeed more spacious than the photos would imply. It also was full of light. The street, though very near the epicenter of Montmartre, was very quiet. Everything I needed to prepare a meal was provided in the well-equipped kitchen, and the in-apartment wireless was a godsend for me. Alain was a marvel of advice and help for me, making wonderful suggestions and helping me cut through airline bureaucracy. He went way above and beyond the the call of duty, and I thank him profusely for it. I will be back to Paris, and I plan on staying at this apartment again. I can't think of a better place to stay, or a better bargain.

Magaly Rodriguez September, 2005 Boston, MA

Spending our honeymoon in Paris was a dream come true and to have spent it in this apartment made it more magical! The pictures on the website do not do the apartment justice. It was more spacious and beautiful than we ever expected. We loved our entire time there and would stay there again. We can't wait to go back! Why stay in a hotel when you can stay at Rue Livingstone?!

Alice and Richard August, 2005 California, USA

We loved the apartment and the fabulous views.

Christine and David August, 2005 San Francisco, CA, USA

We had a wonderful stay in your Rue Livingstone studio. You thought of everything. We have no negative comments. Thank you.

Cate & Maren Kroger-Diamond July, 2005 Carlsbad, Calif

During our 3+ weeks stay at Rue Livingstone, we very quickly came to call our penthouse studio "home". It is charming, cozy, very accessible to everything and the view can't be beat! Strolling Montmartre in the evening after dinner was a joy, even more so when we knew "home" was just a couple of minutes away. The building is beautifully maintained and the vintage elevator was a godsend! Erica & Francoise are terrific. We are already planning another stay!

LC Lo March, 2005 New Haven, CT, USA

A few days' stay at this beautiful apartment was the perfect vacation in Paris. The views are even more stunning and the neighborhood (with all it's many wonderful food shops, unique stores and cafes), as well as the accessibility of the Metro stations, made this place ideal. Erica Berman is thoughtful, gracious and made us truly welcome as special guests. This is how one should experience Paris!

Russell Wong March, 2005 USA

This was our third time we rented from Erica. As usual, her place on Rue Livingstone is clean, efficient and as shown on her website. The addition of a WIFI high speed internet connection makes connecting home a great benefit if you bring your laptop. Staying at Erica’s apartment gives you a great feel how regular people live day to day. Erica provide a “survival” manual at the apartment which give you all the information you would ever need, location of stores, ATMs, Metro stops, etc. We have recommended Erica’s apartment to several coworkers as well as people checking Erica’s references, we do not hesitate to recommend this apartment. The apartment is a great deal just for the view of the Sacre Coure itself with 3 times the space of a hotel. J. Russell Wong Supervisor of Operations Questar Gas Company

Sheri Inneraity March, 2005 Smithville, TX, USA

There is No Way a hotel could be better than staying at the Livingstone Apartment!! It had a very comfortable bed, a really well equipped kitchen. Lovely Fruit and Flowers on arrival. Erica was incredible helpful, as was everyone I met in Paris. The view from every window of the Sacre Couer was fabulous. Don't miss the little museum right outside the apartment and just below the church. Very Cool. Montmartre is just charming. Metro is convenient, an easy walk, and I felt very safe the whole time. Having learned a little French was helpful, and appreciated (it seemed) by the Parisians. The couch bed was comfortable, but you will have to walk over it on the way to the bathrrom at night. The apartment is not small, but the layout puts the couch, when open in the path. The bathroom is really great, and my stepchild, who had reallly missed having a bathtub, was just in Heaven. It is a really great bathtub!! The experience was just great, and I am a convert to apartment rental vs hotels after this experience!! Go Erica!

Kate and Joe DeKoning January, 2005 Lake Leelanau, MI

Imagine a picture postcard of Sacre Coeur. Now imagine that you can be magically transported to live inside that post card. That is my best memory of rue Livingston. As with all other comments you will read, the apartment is an extraordinarily airy comfortable loft in the middle of Paris, with every possible need anticipated by Erica. (Her boyfriend and his friend even helped Joe find a cable for his Palm Pilot!) If you go - or should it be WHEN you go! - be sure to walk around the back side of Montmartre, the residential community reminded me very much of the Georgetown area of Washington DC with its townhouses, parks and simple, residential life. One of the best surprises was the way neighborhood residents went out of their way to be friendly and helpful - like helping us read a bus notice saying (in French far more complicated than our basic understanding) the stop had been changed for that day only -- then guiding us the three blocks to the new (temporary) stop. I can think of no better place to lose my shoes and write my doctoral thesis - so if you see it booked for a year, you'll know I’m responsible!

W Holden and family December, 2004 UK

The Rue Livingstone flat is a fantastic place to spend Christmas and New Year, which we have done twice now. It is wonderfully well equipped, clean and comfortable and the views of course are fantastic, especially the one from the loo stand on the seat and open the window which we discovered only on our last day. We loved shopping along the rue Lepic and wandering around in general. The only slight drawback, which is not the flat?s fault, is that it is a little small for a family of four two adults and two babies needing space-consuming cots , so next time we will try and book something bigger. Francoise was absolutely wonderful, kind and helpful lots of baby-holding while we bothered with our bags and the new concierge is an absolute star as well. We look forward to returning in our child-free dotage!

Cathy Delaney & Lisa MacLeod December, 2004 USA

Mother and daughter exploring Paris together - we found this apartment to be everything - and more - than we expected. The warm welcome we recieved and the follow up to be sure we were fine was well appreciated. The flat is perfect and would highly recommend it.

J&J Feyerer December, 2004 Minneapolis, MN

We have rented from Erica twice in the past 4 years (with a child and without), and we were really impressed with her attention to detail. This particular apartment is great in terms of space and locale -- and she's done a nice job with the design and furnishings. It's really clean, bright, sunny and in great condition. (The view's not too shabby either!) She makes sure you're comfortable and able to find your way around the neighborhood for markets, cyber cafes, croissants, etc. And if she is not personally available when you arrive, she arranges for someone to meet you at the apartment. She makes sure you have all the information you need in advance so you can plan ahead, and you can call anytime during your stay with questions about whatever. Plus, she totally sets you up in terms of restaurant and shopping recommendations. She has a great thing going!

Di & I November, 2004 Chapel Hill, NC, USA

Our stay at Rue Livingstone was wonderful. We love the apartment. It was a joy to come back to such a cozy abode at the end of the day. The location is convenient and feels very safe and the view is truly special. We even witnessed two double rainbows during our stay. We especially appreciate the personal touch that is provided by being greeted upon our arrival and having access to an incredibly helpful notebook of maps and information about what to see and how to get around. We feel very fortunate to have found this apartment and highly recommend it.

Anonymous November, 2004 USA

The flat is in a fabulous location. It's clean, bright and comfortable. There are very useful recommendations for places to go and eat around Paris. You'll have a good time there.

Gerri Scott November, 2004 London, UK

We have been to Paris many times but this is the first time we have rented an apartment. Rue Livingstone is perfect, slap bang in the middle of Montmartre with the most amazing views. The apartment is beautifully furnished, fully equipped and deceptively spacious. We really enjoyed having breafast looking out to the Sacre Coeur. The area has loads of bars, restaurants and places to have coffee and chill. We also found it a perfect base from which to walk easily and there are a numr of metro stations in close vicinity. Francoise was incredibly helpful and we were treated as guests, not clients. We will never stay in a hotel again and can thoroughly recommend this gem to others.

Bill & Vicki Blake August, 2004 London, UK

As American expats in Europe, it has been rare to find truly personal retreats. Rue Livingstone, the view from which bows before the majesty of Sacre Coeur, removes the awkwardness of tourism and integrates you into a deeply Parisian mindset. Make sure you sit by the window for your first sunset! It was a Valentine's that we will always treasure. And, you will find no better host to help your 'Montmartre baptism' than Erica. She is truly a gem! All our best to her and to all who share our spiritual connection to Rue Livingstone.

The apartment is absolutely beautiful and certainly enhances a stay in Paris. The views of the Sacre Coeur are absolutely breathtaking at all times of day - but especially fun during the spontaneous fireworks shows during the Bastille Day celebrations.

My daughter and I stayed at the Rue Livingstone flat last summer (June, 2004) and had the best vacation week ever! Living as a native, shopping where Erica suggested for cheese, bread, wine, etc. made us feel as if we were living in France, instead of just visiting. Reviewing the photos on the website makes me nostalgic for another visit and definitely a rental from Erica. Renting was simple. We were picked up at the airport as Erica had arranged, met by one of her friends at the apartment, and had absolutely no hassle. Highly recommended!!!

This is the place to make your memories. Quite self-sufficient, the Sacre Coeur Penthouse hideaway contains all you'll need and some things you do not, ultimately enhancing your away from home experience. The decor is tasteful and elegant in its simplicity and those attending the apartment give you a sense of friendly connectedness. I offer my highest recommendation; Come here and bring only a passion for life.

This is the second time we have rented a flat from Erica and again her rental was just as advertised. Great views and the survivial manual in each apartment is priceless. We plan on staying again at the Rue Livingstone on our next trip to Paris.

The apartment has a wonderful view and while small (by American standards, not Parisian) is well set up, attractively furnished and has all needed amenities. My family has stayed in this and one of Erica's Rue Charles Nodier apartments and enjoyed them both thoroughly. Montmartre is an interesting neighborhood, particularly after you've gotten away from the tour bus hordes to the quiet streets behind the Sacre Coeur.

Perfect place for two; bright and sunny with lots of modern conveniences and useful information. Isis was there to greet us with a bottle of wine and answered all our questions during the week. We especially appreciated the washer and dryer after a week of biking. It's easy to escape the crowds that congregate around Sacre Coeur; we discovered the "other" side of the Butte with lovely neighborhoods. Highly recommend a trip to the Montmartre Cemetery, regardless of where you stay in Paris.

Thank you and your team /staff (Isis) for the wonderful introduction to your properties in Paris and the great and glorious time! I LOVED the Sacre Coeur Penthouse, it was a wonderful time! I really can't think of anything that would have made my stay better. I was so happy about everything that you and Isis did, the way it was set-up, the information book in the room, your support, phone numbers, your great web site, I really can't think of one suggestion to make it better: it was 4 star PERFECT. Hope to visit again!

Great value! The apartment is immaculate and romantic. From the fresh flowers to the fluffy towels, our stay was a dream. Don't turn on the t.v! Instead fall asleep to French love songs. If you have any problems Isis and Erica will answer all questions so you can enjoy a most beautiful and romantic city.

The Sacre Coeur Penthouse made an ideal home base for our week-long Parisian adventure! The view of Sacre Coeur was exquisite and the neighborhood restaurants were fantastic. Try "Le Restaurant!" There were so many special touches that made us feel at home . . .fresh flowers. soft pillows and towels, a well-equipped kitchen, and laundry facilities. Isis and Erica were extremely friendly and were truly interested in making our stay a special one.

The Sacre Coeur Penthouse apartment was even better than described on your website and additional information. Although relatively small, it is so nicely renovated and decorated that it felt like a real home-away- from-home. Everything worked including plenty of water pressure and hot water, even up on the seventh floor of an older building. As promised, it was very quiet and private, and the view is simply incredible. Also, we very much appreciated Isis' warm and helpful assistance. A completely different experience than we would have had in a hotel--we had a wonderful time and are already dreaming of returning, not just to Paris, but to the Sacre Coeur Penthouse.

We have stayed here twice, and will definitely stay with Erica again! The apartment is in a fabulous location, well equipped, clean, and comfortable. We love staying in an apartment instead of a high priced hotel. Being in an interesting neighborhood afforded us the luxury of beautiful walks filled with très Parisian life. We'll be back!

Erica's Sacre Coeur Penthouse apartment is the best! Fresh flowers in the room upon arrival and the VIEW is fantastic! Many good restaurants in the area and a good location from which to get to the subway. The apartment is on the top floor so it is quiet (which is a real plus)! Would highly recommend this wonderful apartment!

We decided early in the year to take a three month family vacation, and found the apartment Rue Livingstone on the Internet. From the moment I first contacted Erica by email she was a complete professional making sure we had all the necessary documents, maps and groovy places to eat, well before we arrived in Paris. The apartment was everything we hoped for although it was very small. It was like being in an American movie, you know the ones, where the hero or heroine goes to find themselves. The decor was exactly as depicted on the web site, and it was spotlessly clean and fully equipped. We loved sitting at the table watching the sun set over the roof tops, the excitement my 8 year old felt everytime the church bells chimed, and riding the funicular up to the Butte. This is a holiday we will never forget. Thank you for actually living up to our expectations.

The apartment at rue Livingstone was very cozy and nicely decorated. The view of Sacre Coeur is Beautiful! We loved the kitchen and bathroom: very fresh and clean. The sound of the rain drops on the rooftops was enchanting. The sleeper sofa (and, of course, the regular bed) was very comfortable. The best kept secret is the view out of the small window where the toilet is. You can see all of Paris! Erica was very warm and professional. It made staying in Paris with two small children a relaxing experience. I preferred our stay in the apartment over previous hotel stays in Paris; its so nice to cook, and to have a refrigerator, washer, and dryer. And it is especially nice to return to a beautiful apartment after a day of exploration in Paris! Thank you, Suzanne Gendreau and Family.

Great fun staying at rue Livingstone. Aside from the streets crowded with textiles, it's a cool area with all of the Montmartre sights an easy stroll away. The washer and dryer are a bit tricky to operate, so make sure you ask for good instructions--but they work fine. The apartment is very well equipped, really excellent. The best feature is the wonderful view of Sacre Coeur cathedral right out the window by the dining table. You see the church in all different lights and times of day. Across the street is some sort of clothing business--we had fun watching them work (or not). Easy metro stops just a few blocks away at Barbes-Rochechouart (#2 & 4 lines) and Anvers (#2 line). Best of all, Erica is always available and is American, so she can be very helpful. We'd certainly stay there again.

May 7 to May 21, 2003 This was our first trip to Paris and naturally we were anxious about how we would get along. But from the moment we arrived at the apartment we were shown great hospitality. The apartment was just perfect; it exceeded our expectations. The view was spectacular. Having a kitchen available was a terrific benefit: it was well-equipped and met all our needs. The apartment was a quiet sanctuary that we always looked forward to returning to after our explorations of the city. Staying in Montmartre in the rue Livingstone apartment made our 25th wedding anniversary unforgettable. We certainly look forward to returning to Paris.

June 14-21, 2003 We arrived in Paris without our bags, hot and tired, but were greeted at the apartment with a smile by Delphine. She immediately made us feel welcome and calm and showed us everything we could possibly need in the apartment. The maps, travel books and "survival guide" put us at ease that we'd be able to enjoy our neighborhood and the city. The apartment itself is just as quaint and charming as I had imagined and the view of the Sacre Coeur can't be beat. The space is bright, airy and decorated with nice touches like fresh flowers. We even grew fond of the elevator we had been warned about. We loved being able to open the windows and eat breakfast in the morning breeze, however being there in June, we had some warm sleeping nights (and some noise drifting in from nighttime revelers on the hill at Sacre Coeur). The metro ride to some of the tourist sites (Eiffel Tour, Louvre, etc.) can be a little long particularly in the summer heat, but the neighborhood of Montmartre has lots of personality and interesting sites (we even came upon the restaurant featured in the movie Amelie). Overall we had a wonderful visit and felt like we got more of the Paris experience by staying in an apartment rather than a traditional hotel. Many thanks to Erica and her team.

June 21 - 29, 2003 Everything proved to be just as advertised, and better! We had booked this apartment over the Internet and had the usual concerns about doing so. Nevertheless, the website had appealed to us because every question we had was answered on the site. This kind of attention to detail continued in Paris. We were met at the apartment with flowers and more advice from Delphine, our contact, about the neighbourhood, AND more information in written form in a very helpful binder. This binder anticipated everything we might need – from local doctors, to the best places eat and shop for groceries. The apartment as well, showed the attention to detail we first saw on the website – it seems that everything we could possibly need was there. Even though we had a fluent French speaker with us, the most helpful thing of all we felt, was a contact in Paris, should we need any help weaving through the local bureaucracy which only a native would have been able to provide!. Altogether an unforgettable stay! Thank you!

June 30-July 7, 2003 We really enjoyed our stay at Rue Livingstone. The apartment was a bit small for our family of four, but since everything is so nicely laid out and well equipped, we were very comfortable. The apartment was quiet and the view of Sacre Coeur was great. Our only minor complaint was that the shower leaked onto the floor if you weren’t careful. At first we were a bit concerned about staying too far away from the main tourist attractions, but most everything is a 10 to 15 minute metro ride away and the apartment is a short walk to 3 different metro lines. We enjoyed the multi-cultural atmosphere in Montmartre and being in the middle of the “fabric district.” While the Place du Tertre is a tourist trap, the rest of Montmartre is wonderful. We loved the winding streets, architecture, cafes, and boulangeries. The “survival guide” in the apartment was a fantastic touch and the restaurant recommendations were very good. We had great, affordable meals at Le Restaurant and Le Tarourdant (Moroccan). The only culture shock for us “smoke free” Californians was all the chain smoking in restaurants. We can’t wait to go back to Paris.

12-19 April 2003 We three spent a magical week at Rue Livingstone. The place was perfect in most every way. We were high above the bustle around the base of Montmartre, but Sacre Coeur was right outside the windows! Having the kitchen available was great -- until we discovered Rue Lepic, at which point the kitchen became truly amazing! We saved hundreds of dollars and ate like royalty on seafood, wonderful fruits and vegetables, meat, wine, astonishing cheese, and (mais oui) terrific bread. Get thee to Rue Lepic as soon as you arrive, and stock up! If you're considering staying in one of these apartments with a child, we really would urge you to do so. Lulu is five, and she loved riding up to the top of the building in the old wooden elevator; she also was happy to be able to eat the food she likes and not have to pick from French menus two or three times a day. We moved at our own pace and found ourselves enjoying slow mornings in the room as the light and air flooded in through the open windows, which, again, Lulu really valued. Finally, the studio was big enough for the three of us to be spread out, with Chris over the stove, Andrea reading on the bed, and Lulu drawing on the table. Please feel free to write to us at the email address. We have nothing but good things to say, but we can answer specific questions.

12/8/03-12/15/03 The apartment was more than we had even imagined- very close to the best parts of Montmartre. The view of the Sacre Coeur at night from the apartment window was breathtaking! The price is very reasonable for all the amenities that were available to us. We would recommend this apartment to anyone who wants to visit and have the REAL Paris experience. One note: We were not aware that there was a $300 deposit when we arrived- this should be made known to the renters and reminders should be given before they arrive.
